If you think of Ruburt’s normal flexibility as a creative endeavor, then automatically and easily, Ruburt first of all, and you, will find your creative abilities coming to the fore in that direction, bringing about results that are far quicker, easier, and executed in such a manner that Framework 2 adds immeasurably to that area of your lives.

[...] You have your telephones, radios, televisions, your earth satellites—all networks that process and convey data. [...] The information you receive from your culture, from your arts, sciences, fields of economics, is all translated, decoded, turned into cellular information. [...]

There are those who overrelied upon religious beliefs, using them as crutches, and in [later lives] then, they might—such people—throw those crutches away overreacting to their newfound “freedom”; and through living lives as meaningless they then realize, after death, that the meaningfulness of existence was after all not dependent upon any religious system. It was there all along, but they had not seen it.

2. Seth referred to a question I periodically ask Jane, but seldom discuss with others simply because they don’t seem to be interested: What’s happened to all of the Rembrandts? Why isn’t there at least one artist in all of the world painting today whose ability equals Rembrandt’s, and who uses that great gift to evoke the depths of compassion for the human condition as Rembrandt did? [...]

[...] And all the answers that have been given, and all those answers you have told yourself, will be as nothing. And it will seem that all your friends are but ghosts that pass in the night with no meaning. [...]

[...] The seed goes into the earth, however, and in the wintertime in any of your suburban gardens here beneath the snow are all these seeds. [...]

Now, I will let you all take a break. [...]

[...] Of three children, all three may attend different schools. They are all still part of the same unit. They all operate out of the same house. [...]

[...] What about all of these other probable events, however? [...] In other words, were it not for this perception of the event X, it would still be as valid, or as invalid, as real or as unreal, as all the other probable events that were not perceived.

The ego must choose one of all these because of its physical time limitations. [...] It can pursue and experience all of these alternate events, and it can do so in the same amount of physical time that it takes for the ego to experience event X alone.

[...] Strictly speaking, it isn’t dictation for Mass Events, but Jane and I are presenting portions of it here because Seth discussed events and memory with a different emphasis, and touched upon aspects of reincarnation² — all subjects that spring out of that ineffable, really undefinable quality he calls simultaneous time. I ask the reader to always keep in mind that no matter what subject he’s discussing, or from what viewpoint, Seth’s kind of “time” underlies all that our present physical senses translate into linear, concrete experience and history. For clarification, I also keep this in mind: Seth isn’t physical, as he defines himself, and that “energy personality essence” seemingly isn’t all that focused on the passage of time — as we are — yet way back in the 14th session for January 8, 1964, he told us that time “is therefore still a reality of some kind to me.” In these notes for Mass Events, I plan to refer to time — all kinds of it — from “time to time.”)

[...] What were Jane and I doing all of that “time” — that nearly one-quarter of a year of our physical lives?

[...] All of that building activity was much noisier and more disruptive than the work had been for the front porch, and forced some changes in our schedules, including more night work, as we manipulated around those distractions.

Dream of last night**** I dreamed that my entire head was being completely cleared, despite all laws or rules to the contrary... [...] Don’t know what was meant by: all rules to the contrary... [...]

Eyes bothered me quite a bit all day; got some discouraged though did try to keep spirits up, etc.; and did fairly decent job of it.

[...] You may believe that your current existence, with all of its abilities and challenges, is the result of that past life, yet both exist at once. [...] You follow a one-line pattern of history, pursuing certain actions as reality and identifying with these so completely that they are all you perceive. [...]

[...] When you think in terms of reincarnation it seems that one tracing exists before the other, but the entire “chart” exists at once, with all the individual life-tracings.

[...] However, the normal experience-patterns of your temporal being prevent any comprehensive view of all of those lives in creature terms.

[...] Facts indeed that make such a universe possible, facts that would revolutionize science, and most of all the science of medicine, and the field of psychology. [...] The reason for this is that the data that would connect such a study to all other fields of interest is not recognized. The study of the inner workings of the self is closely connected to the study of the universe as it exists in all its levels of reality.

First of all, on a jovial note, may I remark upon the new furniture arrangement, adding that for your purposes the second room divider will prove most advantageous.

[...] If the physical universe existed on a physical field only, indeed this would be the greatest miracle of all, for it would be impossible. [...]

[...] When conceptual thought develops far enough, then it is imagined that all energy originates from what seems to be a closed system; and this misconception then colors all deductions made concerning the nature of energy itself.

[...] All was quiet. [...]

[...] The framework of all systems is basically infinite. [...]

[...] Consciously you can facilitate that development, and admit your brotherhood with all other living beings. [...] A biological brotherhood exists, an inner empathy on cellular levels, connecting all individuals of the species with one another. [...] It exists in all species, and connects all species.

[...] This is true on all levels. [...]

Give us a moment … All of this applies en masse in terms of diseases, for example, that run rampant through a species.

Now almost, almost all of those who come to these classes have at one time or another, been already engaged in such endeavors. There have been many other classes and you have all been a part of them, not necessarily with me but with others. You have long had an interest and so certain aspects will hit you all very strongly. You all know what association is, it operates not only within one life, but between lives, in your terms; so that words and phrases spoken now will trigger the memories but these memories will become alive if you allow them to. [...]

[...] The worst thing that could happen would be that, once again, you restrain the acknowledgment of your feelings and the pent up and unacknowledged and perfectly natural aggression in the beginning that has now built up, is ready to explode and now you send out a thought form out of all proportion to any of the event that causes your friend severe harm. And all of this because you were afraid that one stray aggressive thought of yours was more powerful than the vitality that resides in each of you. [...]

But I want you all to understand something else, and I have said this before. [...]

Truth contains no distortions, and this material with all my best efforts, and with yours, of necessity must contain distortions merely in order to make itself exist at all on your plane. [...]

[...] I suggest that all you take a brief break, and if you are in accord then I will continue for a short time. [...] By all means take your break.

All this involves training. [...] His personality needs all the building up it can get.

“The present individual in any given life could be called a fragment of his entire entity, having all the properties of the original entity, though they remain latent or unused. [...] It contained all the abilities of your friend, whether latent or not I do not know. [...] Usually it cannot operate on all levels of your physical plane.

Later Rob told me that he had all kinds of questions, but he didn’t want to interrupt, and his hand was already tired from taking notes. All the while I kept pacing up and down the room, eyes half open, delivering this monologue without a trace of hesitation.

Then, however, all of this was new to us. For all I knew, Seth was a secondary personality himself, and at this point we could have dropped the sessions. [...]

In a fashion, those stylized figures that stood for the images of God, apostles, saints, and so forth, were like a kind of formalized abstract form, into which the artist painted all of his emotions and all of his beliefs, all of his hopes and dissatisfactions. [...]

[...] Particularly on the part of children, it allows them to express forms and shapes that they see mentally first of all. When they draw circles or squares, they are trying to reproduce those inner shapes, transposing those images outward into the environment—a creative act, highly significant, for it gives children experience in translating inner perceived events of a personal nature into a shared physical reality apparent to all.

The species chooses the best conditions in which to display and develop such a capacity to the utmost, taking into consideration all its other needs and purposes. [...] You are everywhere surrounded by photography of all kinds, but in those days images outside of those provided by nature’s objects were highly rare.

(The strange thing in this is that this session contains new material, after all of the private ones we’ve had. And it deals with causes in a way that makes sense out of all that has gone by; especially does it explain our repeated failures to break out of the vicious circle that has imprisoned us for the last five years.

[...] When the situation allowed him to do so, he immediately began to pare down all activities not directly connected with his work, to shake them off, to force himself to be disciplined, to cut distractions to a minimum and thus avoid conflict, to his way of thinking.

[...] He would force himself to devote all his energies in that direction, to silence for example any stray temptations to go out into the yard in working time, to visit friends. [...]

During those 21 months in the hospital, Jane, Seth, and I said much about her physical/psychic condition, and I recorded it all in my homemade shorthand as best I could under often very stressful conditions. In all that time I missed spending up to six or more hours a day with my wife only once, because of a heavy snowstorm. [...]

During all of this time, we told no one in the hospital what we were specifically doing — staff accepted our conventional explanation that we were writers and “just working.” It all worked very well, even when we were often interrupted, as the sessions show.

[...] Not only about Jane’s fine ability to speak in a trance or dissociated state for Seth, that “energy personality essence,” as he calls himself, but about all of the vastly complicated challenges that can, and do, arise in the course of a human life.

[...] Jane was better today, and 330 wasn’t bad at all, with the air conditioner going, the fan on, and the windows wide open. [...]

[...] If you believe that the body is evil, the purest health-food diet will or may do you little good at all, while if you have a healthy desire and respect for your physical body, a diet of TV dinners, and even of fast foods, may well keep you healthy and nourished.

[...] Leanne came in to check Jane’s vitals — they were all normal — and to give her Darvoset. [...]

The struggle to express themselves, and their own unique abilities and characteristics drives them on, and yet is all too frequently thwarted by the ignorance and misunderstanding that surrounds them. [...] For all their seeming bravado, they fear that they are indeed unnatural members of the species.

[...] In spite of all problems, the life force operates continually in each person’s life, and can bring about at any time the most profound, beneficial changes. The idea is to clear the mind as much as possible from beliefs that impede the fine, smooth workings of the life force, and to actively encourage those beliefs and attitudes that promote health and the development of all aspects of healing experience.

In these, and all situations, it should be remembered that the body is always trying to heal itself, and that even the most complicated relationships are trying to untangle.

[...] Now I am not going to interrupt until you are all finished but I could not keep out of that one. You are all doing very well. [...]

[...] All form has consciousness. [...] Now when you use all of your energy to manipulate in the physical reality there is little left to form such images. [...]

[...] Let it bring within you the memory of all yourselves. [...] And when you are dead as I have been, in your terms, for all this time I hope you can yell as lustily as I can. [...]

[...] Tonight she stood “even taller” briefly, yet through all of these changes the eyes have bothered her considerably. Again, I asked that Seth comment on it all.)

[...] They are your creations, after all. Almost all of Ruburt’s difficulty with time, and your own, spring from this basic quandary. [...]

[...] It is an aura that pervades all reality. [...] He loves the pursuit of truth for its own sake, and the pursuit of truth is basically a playful creative endeavor, in which children indulge all the time.
