He wanted to use his intuitive abilities fully, but felt that great caution must be used. [...]

It leads to Ruburt feeling physically that relaxation means letting go into laxness; as I told him in the past, however, letting go means motion and the ability to respond. [...]

[...] Such dreams are representative of the great creativity of consciousness, and hint of its ability to carry on more than one line of experience at one time without losing track of itself.

The introductory book is still an excellent idea, and a challenge to Ruburt’s own ability.

[...] Those things that annoy you precisely represent the greatest challenges to your personality and abilities.

Also this ability to handle energy is carried over into other life areas, that is other areas in this life. It is no coincidence that Ruburt’s writing, and even his painting, is also showing advancement to a higher level of its own, as your work also shares in your increased abilities to use and handle inner energy.

[...] You will discover, Joseph, that your ability to receive so-called telepathic data is showing itself in psychological time experiments and dreams, as well as in spontaneous flashes during regular consciousness.

(And: “A chapter on a person’s ‘Effective Personal Reality’ — about the private purposes in one’s life, and the bounds of creaturehood as set by your body; what you choose to be born with as far as health, disease, poverty or wealth, ability, etc., are concerned.”

This expectation to grow and flourish is addressed within each atom, cell, and organ, and all of life’s parts contain this optimistic expectation and are blessed with the promise that their abilities will grow to maturity.

As Ruburt looked out the window he was using all of his abilities, but he could not physically keep both events going at one time, or rather his awareness could not contain all of the perceptive information.

[...] We talked to him for an hour (while, alas, dinner got cold), but he was one of those people pleasantly gifted in a variety of fields who hadn’t yet settled down to concentrate on the development of any one or two abilities in particular. [...]

[...] Your consciousness is merely one more of your abilities. [...]

[...] At times you have both asked why an ailing body does not simply assert itself and use its healing abilities, throwing off the negative influence of a given set of beliefs and thoughts.

You identified, primarily now, as a poet and an artist because those designations, up to that time, seemed most closely to fit your abilities and temperaments. [...]

Ruburt was correct in his introductory notes (for Mass Events) today—about the poet’s long-forgotten abilities, and his role. [...]

[...] The creative abilities become even more available, hence his new creativity, and the new physical steps he has taken. [...]

[...] The inner ego is formed about characteristics and abilities that have been dominant in previous personalities, characteristics which the entity has developed through its experience in various lives.

The inner ego, however, through the subconscious, may at times encourage the development of abilities that will better allow the whole self to achieve balance and fulfillment.

He is face to face with himself, with his abilities, ambitions and limitations, now, with a whole day more or less to work toward his goal, and he feels great urgency. [...]

I would have thought that any advice to Ruburt would have involved suggestions curtailing his robust and ever curious intuitional abilities, but he is holding them down with too heavy a hand. [...]

[...] They rarely pretend to be themselves creative—yet all publishers, and people who work for them, are also intrigued by the products of creativity, and at least to some degree, being well reimbursed, they do indeed use their quite different abilities to distribute the creative products that they could not themselves initiate. They have been conservative in many ways—but neither have they exploited Ruburt’s abilities, and neither have they made any attempt to tamper with the message, and some houses would have. [...]

His beliefs in his unworthiness prevented him from using his abilities, or even pursuing a course of effective action, with any persistence. [...]

[...] Now the ego fears such experiences, and censors them and holds them out because it is not certain of its strength, or its ability to mold them into significant patterns.

(In the 63rd session of June 17,1964, Seth said that Peggy Gallagher’s subconscious abilities were well developed. [...]

Painting or sketching outdoors for a while will aid you considerably in your ability to sense this inner unity, to see each natural object in its individualistic momentary majesty, and yet to realize that it is in one way a center through which all energy moves.
