Much loneliness results when people who know they are going to die feel unable to communicate with loved ones for fear of hurting their feelings. [...]

I came across his essay, The Poet, in which he talked about the ‘speakers’ as being those who use their inner abilities to ‘speak the inner secrets of nature.’ The essay impressed me strongly, seeming to echo elements in my own writing and psychic characteristics; and of course I thought of Seth’s ‘Speakers’ as he described them in Chapter Twenty of Seth Speaks. (A couple of days ago Jane received from Tam a letter written to Tam by Saul Cohen, the editor at Prentice-Hall who’s evidently been assigned to shepherd Jane’s work through production. [...]

9. When Jane comes out of trance, who tells first? [...]

[...] I disdained anyone who wasn’t physically perfect. I paid no attention to the beggars, or people who showed imperfection...I used to taunt you. [...]

[...] And I chose my mother, who turned out crippled, for similar reasons, I guess. [...]

[...] It was the spontaneous self who kicked up the fuss this afternoon, thinking: hurry, hurry, hurry, see things my way (when Jane tried to work on the dream book, unsuccessfully).

I will myself attempt to communicate with Father Ryan, who is now much less rigid than he was, and this may help. [...]

[...] He was made to feel unworthy and unwanted by his mother, and it was the spontaneous self who took the brunt of this. [...]

[...] The concentration can allow greater bleed-through and adverse identification, because that part will be one background that you have in common with any probable selves who sprang from that particular source.

(10:24.) Telepathically, if the process is done correctly, your idea will also affect any people who were connected with the original event, though they can choose to reject as well as accept your version.

(I’d like to add here that the flood of material issuing from Jane lately, both in and out of trance, has been extraordinary — and I note that as one who is used to her strong bursts of creative activity. [...]

In your sleep you may have greeted friends who are strangers to your waking self. [...]

A late arrival, another man and woman, who live outside of town. [...]

(Prior to the session Jane and I had a discussion as to the exact profession of the person who had written the many notes on the manuscript of her ESP book. [...]

My field of reality is not the same as it is for those who have recently left your system. [...]

[...] I pick up five again, and a connection with a man who wears glasses. [...]

[...] The Wilburs, who have witnessed several unscheduled sessions, consented. [...]

[...] There have indeed been civilizations upon your planet³ that understood as well as you, and without your kind of technology, the workings of the planets, the positioning of stars — people who even foresaw “later” global changes. [...] There were men before you who journeyed to the moon, and who brought back data quite as “scientific” and pertinent. There were those who understood the “origin” of your solar system far better than you. [...]

[...] Yet it is no accident that greater discoveries are often made by “amateurs” — those who are relatively free from official dogmas, released from the pressure to get ahead in a given field — those whose creativity flows freely and naturally in those areas of their natural interest.

I knew the character type well because in the early 1940s, in ‘real’ life, I’d been one of the artists who had drawn the very popular comic-book hero, Captain Marvel. [...]

I hesitate because I am not certain whether or not to discuss the other woman, who is a sister to the twin before mentioned. [...]

I do not speak here of acquaintances who do not understand the importance of psychic investigation. [...]

I am again, as I have said often, an energy personality essence, which means quite simply that I am a personality who does not now operate within the physical reality. [...]

[...] The people who take such inoculations within your own culture, now, usually do so because they do not want the disease specified, and they believe that the inoculation will prevent it. [...]

[...] There were fewer suicides, for those who survived, survived because of their own intent, their own desire, and the young died when it seemed natural to them. [...]

Two weeks later, on March 3, Jane and I really received a surprise through a friend who lives on the California coast: news of a Spanish-language translation of Jane’s first book, How to Develop Your ESP Power. [...] Our friend has a Mexican friend who showed him a copy of the book. [...]

[...] It became almost a cliché for people to wonder what was wrong with people: Why do those who attain prominence often attract those who want to destroy them? [...]

[...] She’d seldom found that reinforcement while living with a parent who had been divorced and become bedridden by the time Jane was three years old, and who had a host of problems—challenges—of her own to meet.

“The church was quite real to Ruburt as a child, through the priests who came (to the house) regularly, and through direct contact with the religious (grade) school, and the support offered to the (fatherless) family. Ruburt’s very early poetry offended Father (Boyle), who burned his books on the fall of Rome, so he had more than a hypothetical feeling about such issues. [...]
