Yet that same May, while I was writing the most pessimistic of poetry, I also remember a break in my mood, a quickening of spirit that was reflected in two poems of quite a different nature. [...]

Two days later, I sat at my desk, idly watching the sunshine on my bare arm, and was suddenly astonished by the miracle of skin. [...]

Now, putting these two statements together, you see that an individual will perceive basic reality, in the main, only from his own reference point, and through his outer sense apparatus. [...]

While the two dimensions seem entirely separate, and while it is most difficult, nearly impossible, to dwell within both simultaneously, there are effects which occur in both. The two perspectives or dimensions do exist simultaneously, even though you cannot inhabit them simultaneously.

The barrier, if it may be so called, is not so much in the nature of the two dimensions themselves, but in your own limitations, since presently you are focused mainly in one of these. [...]
