[...] Up until I asked if Seth was at the location, she saw what she described, but not clearly [or Seth did]. [...] She had no awareness of the room in which she sat giving the session, yet of course she did [or Seth did] hear my questions and answer them. [...]
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
([Bill:] “Thank you and the same to you, Seth.”)
(Seth is discussing the Gonzolus letter from Indianapolis, Indiana, that we received this week. [...]
[...] It was easy to tell that Jane was happy working on Seth’s latest. [...] She’s been picking up from Seth on Dreams quite often. [...] At other times she may forget to mention it for a while, or the session material itself may remind her that she already knew what Seth was going to talk about.)
3. Now what, I wondered, as I typed this session from my notes, does Seth mean here, and in the paragraph above? [...] I try to avoid reading too much into such brief passages, but I felt that if Seth answered all of the questions I could ask based upon this session, a book would result. [...] (I could also see correlations here between Seth’s ideas about the primary nature of All That Is and the inflationary model of the universe. [...]
At this point in my speculations I’m usually led back to Seth’s EE (or electromagnetic energy) units, and his CU’s (or units of consciousness). [...] According to Seth, each unit of consciousness “contains within itself innately infinite properties of expansion, development and organization; yet within itself always maintains the kernel of its own individuality…. [...]
(“Thank you, Seth. [...]
(Before the session, we voiced the hope once more that Seth would at least comment on Jane’s latest experience involving book work in the sleep state. [...] Once again, though, for whatever reasons, Seth didn’t mention it. [...]
1. See both The Seth Material and Seth Speaks. [...]
2. Seth first discussed his theory of “moment points” in a set of four sessions in April and May, 1965, in connection with reincarnation and the dream universe. [...] Through one of these, Seth added in a very simplified explanation, he could enter within the limits of Jane’s “psychic comprehension.”
(And yet, as if to puzzle us further, Seth did talk about dream material that Jane had obtained just last night. [...]
Actually, Seth has been describing in various ways the indissoluble relationship between consciousness and information (or consciousness and anything else), ever since Jane began holding the sessions over a decade ago. [...] Seth, in the 18th session, for example:
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
(Jane, as Seth, pointed to the angelwing begonia that sat on the narrow coffee table separating us.)
(“Thank you, Seth, and good night.” [...]
(I showed Jane the list of questions I’ve been acquiring, at Seth’s own suggestion, and told her that one of them concerned the insurance situation — that I didn’t want to mess it up by demanding action from our lawyer, say. Seth had said six weeks ago that the issue would be settled to my satisfaction, and our lawyer had said not to worry, and that’s the last we’ve heard. I added that I couldn’t imagine the hospital not demanding action before this — yet they haven’t. Seth had said the question would be cleared up without any long wait.
(It’s hardly a coincidence, then, that one of the questions I had for Seth today, and had added to yesterday’s session, concerned her right leg and why she wasn’t straightening it out. [...] I wanted to ask Seth about the whole thing anyhow, since he’s said several times that she’ll be able to walk normally and with some confidence.
(I explained to Jane my mental saying, “Sorry, Mom, but I don’t have time any more for your shaky beliefs or ideas,” as it had spontaneously grown out of Seth’s comments about why my right hand is shaky, in a recent session. [...] It may have a cumulative effect, and I’d like Seth to comment.
[...] I spent the morning typing letters from Jane, Seth, and me for Maude Cardwell to send to donors. [...]
(My original notes for this session included Seth’s long delivery in Jane’s ESP class last night, June 23, 1970. Seth dealt with organization in that session also — but organization within our own reality as well as in others. [...]
[...] Upon it he had summarized the data Seth had given him about his professional life over a period of several years, and the ways in which it had, or had not, worked out. [...]
(John and I: “Good evening, Seth.”)
(As Seth, Jane pointed to John Barclay, sitting beside me on the couch. [...]
1. Seth has some material analogous to this in the 582nd session in Chapter Twenty of Seth Speaks: “What you perceive of time is a portion of other events intruding into your own system, often interpreted as movement in space….” That session, as well as the 581st, also contains some applicable data on Seth’s electromagnetic energy (EE) units, their various speeds, and our interpretations of them as events, dream events, movement-through-time, and so forth.
(A note: Those who are interested in material on the fluctuations of consciousness can refer to the following sessions in Seth Speaks: the 567th session in Chapter Sixteen, on the phasing of atoms in and out of our system; the 576th session in Chapter Nineteen, on alternate presents; and the ESP class session for June 23, 1970, in the Appendix, on organization in our present reality. Seth states therein: “But the fact is that physical matter is not solid except when you believe that it is….”)
[...] Work — very noisy work, which is to continue for a year — is now underway to replace it.] In Chapter Eighteen, Seth explains the emotional origins of Agnes as a whole, and our personal behavior within it.
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
[...] My fourth question asked for the content of the horizontal lettering mentioned by Seth. Seth named both horizontal lettering and red before in the data. [...]

(Rewritten November/2000: The vision grew out of Seth’s saying in the deleted 382nd session, on November 27/67, that I’d do well-known painting of Bill Gallagher. [...] See session 584 in Seth Speaks, held on May 3/71.)
(Here Seth refers to Jane’s book of poetry, High, Low and Psycho. In a very recent session Seth told Jane to send the manuscript to a publisher beginning with an L or V. The book had already been rejected by Viking, the only V in her index of publishers. [...]
[...] I hoped Seth would mention it this evening.)
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
[...] For I was embroiled in trying to produce a note relative to a passage of Seth’s in Mass Events about Christ’s resurrection and ascension. [...] And the last thing I’d expected of Jane tonight was any material on religion from Seth. [...]
(Jane’s delivery for Seth seemed to be the same as ever, except that she took longer pauses between sentences — almost as though she waited a bit each time to gather the impetus to deal with her very relaxed physical state. [...]
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
[...] Christ, as you know, was a common name, so when I say that there was a man named Christ involved in those events (see Seth Speaks), I do not mean to say that he was the biblical Christ. [...]
[...] I told Jane I felt that regardless of John’s evocative visit Seth would have mentioned my eye phenomena tonight, given his subject matter for the session. And yet, I added, because of the very nature of the Seth material, I’m also bound to think that beneath that simplified explanation there are “deeper” connections—in which the television program, her reactions to it, John’s appearance, and tonight’s session are all related. [...]
[...] I’m also presenting it because it shows how an event on one day of our lives—a television program—influenced Jane’s delivery of one session of the Seth material. [...]
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
(Jane said that while Seth was speaking she herself felt that Seth was convinced that Peggy would be really helped if the instructions were followed. Seth was especially concerned about the positive suggestion ideas being followed.
[...] John asked Jane, whom he has never met, if Seth could give any data that might help John’s wife Peggy, who has multiple sclerosis. Jane said she would be glad to try, although she had no idea of what Seth would say.
[...] Jane began speaking for Seth, in trance, in a quiet voice broken by many long pauses, and with her eyes closed. [...]
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
[...] She thought this was strange, since during the last couple of days she’d picked up quite a few insights from Seth on various subjects. [...]
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
[...] It would be quite improbable for you, Joseph (as Seth calls me), to suddenly turn into a tailor, for example, for none of your choices with probabilities have led toward such an action.
[...] Given Seth’s concept of simultaneous time, the best connection I’ve made so far between the two soldiers is that as counterparts of mine they explore questions having to do with authority. As I rebel against authority now — a characteristic remarked upon by Seth in the 721st session — so do my Roman selves in their times.
“Seth’s data and my own on counterparts make sense to me. I feel (as Seth mentioned in the 721st session) that I wasn’t Nebene, or two different Roman soldiers per se, but rather that my whole self chose to manifest such personalities together; that I, too, am such a manifestation at a “later” time, then, and that from my own vantage point I can tune in to those other lives. [...]
[...] Almost immediately Seth came through with further elaborations on his ideas about counterparts. [...] Seth:)
(Seth’s delivery, only partly quoted here, was very forceful. It will help the reader to refer back to the 724th session itself in order to correlate Seth’s material given there with this class session, and with other data on reincarnation and counterparts.
[...] After supper I suggested that if she had a session tonight Seth could comment upon her current series of relaxations. [...] Now she was nervous, for she felt that Seth was ready to dictate his Preface for Dreams.
[...] I’m sure Seth knows this, but it’s obvious that he wants us to maintain a light rather than a heavy psychological touch. [...] Recently we received an excellent, rather lengthy paper about our work in which the writer, a psychologist, discussed among other things the import of Seth’s material, as well as various explanations of his origin. [...]
I especially liked the first sentence Seth offered for his latest book. [...]
[...] “Good evening, Seth.”)
(After the session, Jane said she felt that Seth was still around, which was unusual. She felt that Seth was “localized” right beside her as she sat on the divan; that is, that he was standing just beside and in front of her. [...]
(“Good evening, Seth.”)
(“Good night, Seth.”
[...] In fact, she thought Seth was coming through very well, particularly when he started explaining why he was having trouble. [...]
1. In Note 1 for the 840th session I cited an insight we’d recently obtained into the relationship between Jane and Seth, and mentioned how we’re always on the lookout for such clues. [...] We’re also eager to learn what we can about Jane or Seth per se. Tonight, then, in the deleted portion of the session, Seth gave us insights into his own personality. [...]
(Seth hadn’t called the last session book dictation, nor did he so designate tonight’s material. [...]
(Good evening, Seth.”)
[...] After discussing several other matters, Seth ended the session at 10:05 P.M. One of those “other matters,” however, led to Note 1.)
[...] There was something new here, though, I thought, when one postulated that Seth as we knew him was acceptable because of the symptoms. [...] Strange, I thought, if it turned out that personal work would be one of the most creative of all the uses to which the Seth material could be put, rather than grandiose pronouncements coming down from on high, dispensed by one who was in a position of superiority.
(Jane said she thought Seth might discuss our discussion, as well as the three other questions I’d mentioned about her feet, and so forth. I also had questions about some of my recent dreams, including the one of July 7 that Seth had promised to comment upon, but I had little hope that he’d get into that material tonight. [...]
[...] I was encouraged that Seth too found something to talk about in my insight of just before the session. Later, I supposed that Jane’s recovery—even if only to a degree—could also be taken as a sign of the legitimacy of the Seth material, since she’d be using it to see her way clear to bring about that recovery. [...]
[...] She said she’d have a session, after I explained that I was interested in Seth giving some information on her hearing, swollen feet, and what seemed to be some reactions she was having to our use of the DMSO. [...]
1. Seth was evidently experimenting here, for right away he went back to using “it,” instead of “he,” when referring to All That Is. “It” may not be entirely satisfactory either, but Jane and I didn’t question Seth about it: We prefer that designation because it encompasses any kind of sexual orientation and/or function within All That Is. (When Seth used “he” while talking about All That Is a couple of times later in the session, I substituted “it” in my notes and let it go at that.)
[...] Seth had come through so rapidly and emphatically that while taking notes I’d hardly had time to think about questions. [...] [Here we go again, I speculated, back to struggling with that contradictory notion of “simultaneous time.”] How does Seth’s instantaneous “beginning processes that formed the universe”—with no time involved—square with fossils in the earth? [...]
So how do Seth’s own ideas of probable universes and probable earths fit in with his material tonight—as I’m sure they do? [...] Seth’s book is young, I told myself. [...]
[...] Seth came through again and again, as he’d often done in class, and Jane thoroughly enjoyed herself. [...]
