(Although this is a private session that Jane and I are filing separately from “regular” material, we’re also presenting it in Mass Events because of the many insights Seth offers into individual and mass events in general, and into our personal realities in particular. [...]

[...] As for myself, I’ve progressed to working with Session 860 [for June 13, 1979], which bridges chapters 8 and 9 in Mass Events.

[...] [She also relayed to me Seth’s comments about an article on bird migration that I read to her while we were having lunch, but I lost those too.] Jane called me early for the session—at 8:20, while I was still busy with Mass Events. [...]

3. See the Preface for Dreams. In the notes immediately preceding the private session for September 13, 1979, I quoted some of the very evocative material on animal cultures and civilizations that Seth had given in Chapter 5 of Mass Events.

[...] These can help you become aware again of those inner idealizations that form your private reality and your mass world. [...]

[...] The “future” of the species is being worked out in the private and mass dreams of its members, but this also is never considered. [...]

[...] Controlled Environments, and Positive and Negative Mass Behavior.’” I told her I thought Seth would not only have plenty of time to cover our respective questions, but would come through with some book work too, and this was the case.

[...] Such environments may be private, as in the case of persons with what are generally called mental disorders, or they may be shared by many, in — for example — mass paranoia.

(It’s almost as though there’s an unspoken agreement among Jane, Seth and me — but starting with the 846th session, which was held over a month ago [on April 4], Seth has been dictating material for Mass Events on Wednesday evenings only.)

[...] You do each create your own reality, however (intently), and en masse you create the realities of your nationalities and your countries — so at that time the Germans saw themselves as victors, and the Jews saw themselves as victims.

1. I suggest that in connection with this note the reader review the 891st session for December 26, 1979, in Chapter 3 for Volume 1 of Dreams, where Seth referred to the American hostage affair as “a materialized mass dream.”

[...] In Iran, for instance, present-day Islamic law reaches into and defines acceptable and nonacceptable behavior in every facet of individual and mass life—from the most explicitly sexual to that with the broadest social and national implications. [...]

2. Seth delivered the 823rd session for Mass Events on February 27, 1978—over two years ago. [...]

[...] Both have been used by those in power to hold down the masses of people, to justify shoddy and inadequate living conditions by promising future bliss in the world after death.

(Incidentally, Jane today received her first letter—from a lady who has written her before—about Mass Events. [...] [Incidentally again, it is Thursday afternoon as I type, and in an hour one of the Ryall boys from the Handi Book Center in Elmira will be at the house to have Jane autograph 20 or so copies of Mass Events; the store received them today, and has a number of orders for copies. [...]

[...] Obviously, then, a mass physical event implies an inner system of communications of proportions that would put your technological communications to shame.

[...] Your involvement in the private aspects of your living, and your participation in mass events, has much to do with your estimation of the physical situation, and with your beliefs and desires regarding it. [...]

In your times the individual problems of masses of people are bound up with such issues, and as they work toward their own solutions, then in their own ways they help solve problems at the level of world action. [...]

[...] The same philosophical dilemma, again, lies at a basis for your mass events. [...]

Give us a moment… Before we discuss man’s and woman’s private roles in the nature of mass events — no matter what they are — we must first look into the medium in which events appear concrete and real. [...]

[...] There is general and mass focus of all self-structures within that system, binding enough and cohesive enough so that the appearance of a permanent and all-pervading physical reality is maintained. [...]

Its manifestations are greatly concentrated, and its patterns attract mass, but in different terms in the electric field. [...]

[...] The electrical reality of emotions and thoughts represents a thought dimension that has been completely neglected; and in it there are other dimensions; as within your field there is apparent space and time and height and thickness, so in the electrical system there is intensity and what I will call space reality, electrical mass and potentiality, which is different from intensity and polarity.

You had a mass burial—land and people together, a folding-in of consciousness upon itself, of energies upon energies, as those people realized that their kind of existence could no longer be maintained. [...]

[...] It appears the argument over the medical disclaimer for Mass Events may be on the way to a solution. [...]

[...] Larger masses of individuals than ever before in this cycle realize that killing is wrong.

Your field is contained within its own unique range of intensities, a tiny band of electrical impulses a million times smaller than any one note picked at random from the entire mass of musical composition that has been written, or ever will be written.

[...] The chapter deals with the negative effects and aspects of inoculations, and certainly reinforces Seth’s own material in Mass Events on the harmful effects of many inoculations. [...] Indeed, the reader response to Mass Events has been excellent, and possibly already heavier than on any of her previous books. [...]
