“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(“Four, the number four. A connection with an older man.” This was perhaps a vague reference to the father of the groom; he is quite a bit older than my brother, who is Linda’s father. Later, Jane told me that this was a reference to brother Loren, Linda’s father.

(“Too many too soon. November six three”, are very accurate references to Linda, but are here not explained because of personal reasons on her part. The data are available however to anyone making a study of these experiments. The numbers refer to November 1963; during this month Linda was involved in a strong emotional experience that was unique for her.

(“and a letter that did not meet your approval.” This is a reference to the letter written to Jane and me by Linda’s mother, on January 24, telling us about Linda’s marriage on January 22.

(See the tracing of the envelope object on page 278. As stated, the object is the front page of the announcement of the marriage of my brother Loren’s daughter, Linda, to Dennis Murray of Brooklyn, NY. Once again Seth goes over the data with us, so immediately below is listed, first, the connections Jane and I made ourselves.

[...] Seth gave this answer to my request for the female child’s initials; Linda is thus eliminated definitely. More important, Jane said that when I asked questions concerning the child, she wanted to say Linda but that Seth wouldn’t let her. Backing off from the idea of Linda because she felt it was wrong, Jane compromised with the small child data.

[...] Linda is nineteen, or was in August 1965. The reasons for assigning the single word to Linda will be seen later.

[...] Loren and his wife have a daughter, Linda, who could not attend because she was away at school.

[...] In view of the following data we do not think it was meant to apply to Linda.

[...] By 4:53 I’d just finished massaging her with Oil of Olay when Linda, the RN, came in with the antibiotic. [...] “But you’ve got a fever,” Linda said gently. [...]

[...] Linda came in just as I was on my feet, and helped me haul Jane toward the head of the bed after I’d turned her on her back. [...]

[...] Later, while resting, I received a mental impression of Linda Butts and perhaps her mother Betts. I am not certain it was Linda, but whoever it was was either very angry or frightened. Linda and Betts could have been arguing [although this is unlikely; as far as I know Linda is away at school.] All of this was a mental impression, more of a jumbled sense of sound and emotional clutter, with but vague images. I did not see Linda clearly, yet assigned this data to her.

Something about Linda (Jerry’s daughter—Lorinda. 5 now), that Linda is a wild one (yes, she is wild). I don’t want answers: is Linda 6? [...]

[...] Got the name Linda, and the last name, which I think I’ve forgotten—don’t think it was Butts. But there was a connection with Linda.

(If it is a death, and in Rob’s family, say of Linda, which I doubt, then why the return name of my mother’s friend? [...]

[...] The envelope enclosed a letter from Doug’s recently married sister Linda, who now lives in Brooklyn, NY. [...] I wondered whether Seth would pick up any impressions connected with Linda, but he confined himself to impressions that originated yesterday as far as Jane and I were concerned. [...]

[...] Nor does his sister Linda, who wrote the letter and enclosed it in the envelope from which the flap used as object was taken. [...]

[...] At break Linda brought in Jane’s aspirin and Darvoset; my wife has still been uncomfortable while lying on her back. [...]

He then attempted to substitute the name of Linda, your niece, and pretended not to know whose death was being perceived. [...]
