[...] Then yesterday Jane received from her publisher the copyedited manuscript for James, so during the next week or so we’ll be very carefully going over that work, too.

[...] The Word, by Irving Wallace, is a book on the discovery of an unknown gospel by the brother of Christ, James the Just. [...]

[...] If she could tune into the world views of the philosopher and psychologist William James, and the artist Paul Cézanne, why couldn’t she do it for the writer and mystic Jane Roberts? The results would be even more intimate than those in James and Cézanne. A work like that would furnish invaluable clues concerning her redemption, on many levels, and mine as well.

[...] Interestingly, in the small town of Roseburg he’d been able to buy James and Cézanne and ESP Power, but no other Seth books. [...]

[...] Seth had said that William James did, in connection with Jane’s book about him, and his interest in gifted mediums. [...]

(In this noon’s mail Jane received from her editor, Tam Mossman, an early printer’s proof of the book jacket for The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher: The World View of William James. [...]

[...] On the other hand, many of his customers of course must look further, and despite themselves realize that this bit of truth is a pretty postcard, in James’s words, and they yearn for some kind of a deeper originality—an authenticity, a spark of something that will be instantly recognized.

[...] Ruburt’s book on [William] James would be good background material here, particularly the sections dealing with democracy and spiritualism. [...]

(No session was held last Wednesday while Jane worked on the James galleys. [...]

[...] [Sue is a writer also, and knows about things like manuscripts.] Then by the time this 806th session came about, Jane estimated that she was practically through with the first handwritten draft of James. [...]

[...] But also how basically easy it was for his, say, Cézanne and James books also, for creatively he moved very quickly. [...]

[...] Tam called her Friday; he’d received the James presentation, and was most enthusiastic, which cheered Jane a great deal. [...]

Also, Jane has long since completed The World View of Paul Cezanne: A Psychic Interpretation, which was published in 1977; and she’s finished The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher: The World View of William James — both books growing out of the world-view material given by Seth in “Unknown” Reality.

[...] Late in October she signed her contracts for the publication of James, and delivered the finished manuscript at the end of November. [...]

At the same time, he was to be denied his rightful place as a writer (as I’d said earlier), to defend this new position—a position moreover that seemed to change all the time—for beside my books there was Seven, Sumari, and later Cézanne and James. [...]

(Jane said her eyes were feeling much better, although “full of moisture,” and that the copying work she did on James, following Seth’s suggestions in the last session, went well. [...]

[...] These frameworks, one way or another, always involve alterations in time, even as Ruburt’s James and Cézanne books from the library involve information not usually available in Framework 1’s time sequence.

(Late last week Jane received her first copy of her book on William James, and this noon we received the additional 11 copies that were due us from Prentice.)
