(Jane was full of restless, positive energy this afternoon and evening. I viewed it as a helpful expression, and wondered if it was connected with the letter she had received from Harry Edwards, in England, last Friday, August 9. In the letter Edwards told of a program he had begun, to send healing energy to Jane.

His first name is Edward or perhaps Edwin. [...] Edward Zeno-Mythlin; or one name is a family name.

The sensitivity to sneakers was activated because of these connections with the mother, the children’s work hung upon the wall—this is another connection with his own past, you see, with early grades, and so is the colored girl, Dagmar, as Edward Briscoe was the only colored boy in his early grades.
