As Seth continued dictation I was fired by his purpose to make the unknown elements of human life at least partially visible — an audacious goal, I thought — and I tried to do my part in recording all such disclosures as they appeared in our lives and were reflected in the experiences of our friends and students.

His headings for the three sections of Volume 1 do give some indication of its contents.

The question has to do with the so-called creation of your universe, the introduction of entities upon it, and of course with the cause or causes behind such creation. [...]

[...] In this way also you create your so-called real camouflage world, the only difference being that the dream world images do not have duration in physical time although they have duration in psychological time. [...]

(A few days ago, while doing some painting, the idea had popped into my conscious mind unbidden that the very act of painting a picture involved the construction of a plane. [...]

(They don’t have the talent, Jane—you do! Always ask yourself: “Do I want to be the one who’s trying to do something, or the one who criticizes the efforts of others?”)

[...] Ruburt’s nature will see to it that he has time to do all the important things he wants to do in any given day. [...]

[...] I guess the realization that the basic mistrust of one’s own nature could have such dire results was what triggered our conscious realization that we could do something about the whole business of symptoms, etc. [...]

This also has to do with large events, that you might for convenience’s sake think of for now as psychological objects — that is, events seen and recognized by large numbers of people in the same way that objects are.

You do not understand the dimensions into which your own thoughts drop, for they continue their own existence, and others look up to them and view them like stars.
