(“And now the wrist—see how it thickens and turns white?” Jane’s wrist did thicken. She sat with the wrist of her left hand pressed to the table top. She wore a black sweater with the sleeves pushed halfway up her forearms. The cold white light spread up over the thickening wrist, up the forearm to the sweater. Seth was smug and sardonic at the same time. “You didn’t think I could do it, did you my lovelies? But you have no idea of what you’re asking, of how difficult it is…”
(Seth then had the cold inner light suffuse Jane’s wrist and palm to an even more remarkable degree. At the joining of hand and wrist, the flesh rose up in an egglike lump; the light crept up Jane’s arm to her sweater, and bled down her fingers until all semblance of shadow was gone. Then, to end this part of the demonstration, Seth had Jane place her hands side by side so that we could plainly see the difference between the two. It was easily seen.
(Now, while Jane still sat with her left wrist pressed to the table, her hand, turning white in part again, rose several inches [perhaps three by my estimate] up from the table. My hands were held by Jane on my left and Bill on my right, but Bill passed his free right hand beneath Jane’s hand to see that it was actually rising and was not an illusion. [Was Jane’s elbow dropping, so the hand rose up? I do not know.] But laughing, Seth told us plainly that when we had attained more proficiency, he would materialize a fully independent hand for us. He explained that he drew on all three of us for the psychic energy necessary to do this.
The hand was not injured, that is not knocked as by bunking, but was irritated due to a change of wrist motion occurring when he began to use a second typewriter, which he had not used for many years. [...] The automatic wrist motion that he regularly uses in his touch typing was knocked askew, the pattern broken, and he used an erratic pressure that induced strain. [...]
[...] While talking with him she mentioned a hard lump that had appeared recently on the inside of her left wrist. [...]
[...] Seth had not yet mentioned the nodule on her wrist, and we agreed that he was probably waiting until she attained a deeper state before he dealt with personal material of this sort.
The formation on the wrist is not arthritic. [...]

(I found that both her hands showed signs of improvement in feel and motion at the wrists especially, much to my pleasant surprise, so we’re making good progress there. [...]
[...] She’s had added motion in her arms and elbows and wrists especially, and these are related to the finger blockage, she maintained. [...]
[...] And I felt the same thing happening down toward the arms, and that there was one long tube in particular in my left arm that had been bent and twisted, like a portion of a rubber hose —and that also had to do with the release of wrist and elbow motion, and that that was releasing, getting straighter and unbending. [...]
I do feel there is definitely increased important mobility in my wrists, and in the elbows, and again this is achieved somehow, and knots become unwound. [...]
(Jane had a rather unexpected opportunity, also, to verify Seth’s diagnosis of the nodule on her left wrist yesterday afternoon. [...]
I find that the climate is more favorable this evening; and much to my amusement I discovered that Ruburt saw fit to collaborate my diagnosis of the condition existing on the left wrist, by speaking to a doctor, who did indeed collaborate my statement.
Now briefly before I close, and again on a personal note: the condition of Ruburt’s wrist will take care of itself and vanish. [...]
