[...] It is one that would be most beneficial to politicians and statesmen, and it also can be used to probe into probable pasts as well. Here it would be of benefit in learning of old ruins for example, and vanished civilizations, but only if the specific probable past were probed in which these existed.

[...] [Class sessions aren’t numbered.] Occasionally Jane has wondered what effect, if any, the break would have on Seth’s book. [...]

(A note: I thought it would be of interest to show, by periodically recording the time, how long Seth takes to deliver a certain amount of finished material for his book.)

[...] Had it not, then many important future developments would have been blocked. [...] The energy would have been diverted from the voice in which it had already been built up, you see.”

“For I have sprung entirely away from you and would be alien in your terms. [...] Yet had you not been able to contact me, I would not be what I am.”

(Jane had no idea of what Seth would discuss during the session. [...]

(A note: at times Jane’s head would shift or vibrate slightly from side to side. [...] After a few repetitions the head would then be still again. [...]

[...] Thinking Seth would speak as usual, I read to Jane another question that had come to mind as I typed up last session. [...]

[...] In your terms some of the windows would contain probable realities within your physical system. [...]

[...] This has disadvantages but without the method such communications would not be possible.

[...] Ruburt, reading from a book, would still have to receive and translate that information without knowing the endless manipulations necessary. The same sort of inner calculations would have been involved by the author of the book. [...]

If it were not creatively transformed into writing however he felt, as a child, threatened, for he would be accused of telling lies.

[...] Otherwise information such as ours would not be received clearly enough to be understood.

[...] (Long pause.) If the nature of perception were clearly understood then the nature of reality as you know it would also be understood much more clearly. [...]

[...] If everyone moved out she would have to force the issue with her advisers. [...] She means well enough but in her insecurity she believes them when they tell her that she would be a fool for not raising rents. [...]

[...] Most of the people in your house took it for granted that your landlady would not take care of the place. [...]

The landlady chose, unconsciously, houses in which the deeper needs of her tenants would in one way or another correspond with her own. [...]

[...] Many of the men involved were imagining how happy they would be in a medical building, and subconsciously hoping for an excuse to move into one. [...]

[...] To have attempted to censor Seth since 1963, say, to “keep him to ourselves” on that particular subject, would have long ago turned into an impossibly complicated and dishonest task: Jane and I would have become involved in a constant distortion of his material as we rewrote the sessions. [...] Then as we went to bed she brought up two additional subjects to discuss, for those who would wonder: why we hadn’t more actively sought medical help in the past for her physical condition; and the many private, or deleted, sessions Seth himself has given for her over the years.

[...] If I had broken a leg I would have gone to a doctor to get it set. [...]

[...] If I’d felt I was suffering a heart attack, for example, I knew I would rush to the hospital, but this was a chronic condition. [...]

[...] What’s happened in between would make a book in itself. [...]

[...] As I said to Jane this morning during our long discussion, I still want to know why one portion of the personality would want to drive all of the rest before it, even to the point of destruction, and perhaps even beyond. [...]

[...] “If you love me,” she said, “comfort me like you would an animal, for I really need you.” [...]

[...] I told her everything would be fine. [...]

[...] The source of the world would therefore seem no longer to exist, having worn itself out in the effort to produce physical phenomena. In the light of such thinking, Framework 2 would be an impossibility.

(Jane showed more interest in my idea than I’d thought she would, and spent the afternoon going over those private sessions. [...]

In those terms, using our analogy, the recognition of Framework 2 would bring you from that point to the production of great art, where words served to express not only the seen but the unseen — not simply facts but feelings and emotions — and where the words themselves escaped their consecutive patterns, sending the emotions into realms that quite defied both space and time.

[...] I suggested that the necessary insights would come to her later. [...]

[...] He added that the woman “would have used you as a buffer between herself and another male, and as a bargaining point, exaggerating your slightest interest. An unpleasant situation would have resulted. [...]

I was really excited to think that a psychologist would do his own experimentation with projection, and I wrote him. [...]

“How would I know the difference? [...]

[...] In this context it would seem that Barbara would be the woman in the background, since the actual envelope object was an item of Jane’s. Other interpretations could reverse this order however. [...]

[...] I knew nothing of the circumstances under which Jane wrote the poem, and hoped the data would fill me in. [...]

[...] Last evening our TV set was acting up, and Jane wished aloud that Jim would visit us and fix the set, as he has done in the past.

[...] If I were sick someone would feel sorry for me and comfort me then.” [...]

(Intently:) “To begin with, he would not have had the sessions over this period of time (more than 17 years) for your sake alone, or even for your sake primarily: They simply would have petered out. [...] Nothing, however, would have kept him at the sessions for this amount of time unless he wanted them.”

[...] We’d known that Emir hadn’t been setting any records since its publication in September 1979, but we’d also thought the book’s sales were respectable enough that the people at Delacorte Press would keep it in print until it became better known. [...] That status would soon change, however, when Mass Events and God of Jane reached the marketplace.

[...] Even if you were aware of reincarnational existences, your present psychological behavior would not be threatened but retain its prominence—for only within certain space and time intersections can physical actions occur. The more or less general acceptance of the theory of reincarnation, however, would automatically alter your social systems, add to the richness of experience, and in particular insert a fresh feeling for the future, so that you did not feel your lives dead-ended.

Reincarnation suggests, of course, the extension of personal existence beyond one time period, independently of one bodily form, the translation or transmission of intelligence through nonphysical frameworks, and implies psychological behavior, memory and desire as purposeful action without the substance of any physical mechanism—propositions that science at its present stage of development simply could not buy, and for which it could find no evidence, for its methods would automatically preclude the type of experience that such evidence would require.

[...] This of course would lead to the further question: To what purpose would such elongation serve, in which direction would it tend? [...]

[...] He told her to leave it alone, saying it was protective and would probably disappear by itself. [...]

[...] I would, nevertheless, appreciate Ruburt taking me at my word sometimes. [...]

[...] To interpret them upon one level alone would be indeed simplicity in itself. [...]

[...] She hadn’t really thought Seth would say that her dream and psychological time data were correct; she didn’t think, moreover, that Seth would ever come out with such material, no matter whose death was involved.

I realize that Ruburt in particular is in no mood for levity, and I would for his sake tell him that the information contained in his psychological time experiments, and in his dreams of late, is merely the fabrications of his subconscious, of which in the past he was not aware.

First of all, when he cried out silently for you during a recent psychological time experience, it was because he sensed, through inner communications, a situation concerning a death in which he would need your support. [...]

[...] In his dream, therefore, which he knew he would remember because of his training, he then added shielding fabrications, interwoven with the valid information.

[...] Without it there would be no sessions and I would not be here.

[...] If they took twice the time you would still be very well off for what you get out of them. [...] There is a possibility that Ruburt could get help from his students here to relieve you, but I do not believe that you would want anyone at our regular sessions. [...]

[...] It is true that we would sorely miss the sessions; much that is useful to us personally would be gone, even if this were the only reason we held them.

[...] In one way she forces him to stay when he would retire, and when her thoughts are not strongly with him he will attempt to escape further.

[...] With a freer attitude, you see, the paintings would come through, practically speaking, now. That freedom would quicken your other activities, so that “Larry’s work” would be his and yours more truly, and be speedily accomplished. [...]

(Following a discussion of everyone’s experience Jane explained a new tenant had moved in and as it was late she would relate what Seth would say.)

Now if you are able to go even further imaginatively, you can open those other eyes and look into that other room and that is what I would like you to do. [...]

[...] An unbelieving scientist would say that Valerie is hardly in touch with a discarnate Jane, since science doesn’t accept survival of death. Nor would the idea of reaching Jane’s world view be considered, or telepathy from me, for both of those concepts are scientifically unacceptable. The most parsimonious view — the simplest, stingiest one — would be that through studying the Seth Material Valerie subconsciously divines the replies I want from my dead wife, and in all subjective innocence comes through with her trance messages for me, to fit my own stubborn belief in Jane’s survival.

“To me,” Jim wrote, “it would be a special opportunity for you to make whatever statement you might wish about Jane and her work. It would also be nice for the many readers of Jane’s books to have a chance to hear from her partner, who so beautifully and critically assisted in the birthing of the Seth books.

[...] Once again, many of her fans would enjoy such a photo as a personal remembrance. It would also [let] us show a photo that does not exploit her channeling. [...]

You will join me as I have joined others.
No physical form or physical thought
can express my existence.
The term love, with its message
of caring for another,
