[...] In The Nature of Personal Reality, I tried to extend the boundaries of individual existence as it is usually experienced … to give the reader hints that would increase practical, spiritual and physical enjoyment and fulfillment in daily life. [...]

This would seem contrary to your known laws, yet no one has looked into the reasons for this seeming contradiction. [...]

(Pause.) Our material was precisely the kind that would directly threaten old beliefs, so in that regard there were bound to be points of conflict. Ruburt would meet them fairly directly, since after all he was not some hypothetical person reading our books, but the person responsible for delivering them. In a fashion the material returns him, however, to a natural yet mystical inner knowledge of his childhood before (underlined) he cloaked it in the church’s robes, and it would be good for him to remember that and perhaps try to recapture some of those very early feelings that he has consciously forgotten. Television, oddly enough, provides for many people an opportunity to leap over restrictive categories, and to identify in other ways, perhaps, than they would otherwise. [...]

[...] Writing would get him the fullest use of his abilities and fulfillment, his own approval and yours, financial security, and hopefully some kind of success in terms of a reputation. [...]

In that way of thinking, the symptoms gave him the opportunity to stay home and produce, and yet also served to keep you in a line of importance, for it would be obvious that his success was also dependent upon your help—and other nefarious connections that all fit in.

Some of these may involve the thoughts of what you would call a reincarnational self, focused in another period of history as you know it. [...] If all of that were not true, I would not be writing this book and you would not be reading it.

(Jane’s psychic experiences, Seth said, would themselves initiate other creative endeavors, leading her to delve into deeper, literally unending, universal pools of creativity….

[...] Now theoretically, this center could be in the middle of your present living room, in physical space, but the distance between you and the members of your family still living — sitting perhaps, thinking of you or reading a paper — would have nothing to do with space as you know it. You would be more separated from them than if you were, say, on the moon.

You could perhaps change your own focus of attention away from the center, and theoretically see the room and its inhabitants; and yet still this distance that has nothing to do with miles would be between you.

[...] It would seem to you that experience becomes broader but less specific, but such is not the case. Experience does become broader, but it changes in quality so that, for example, one moment in your terms of such experience would provide the working material for five years of dreams.

Actually the three sets of events could easily occur to the three people at once, and if no normal communication happened no one would be the wiser. [...]

[...] In doing so, to some extent you multiply the creative possibilities of the universe, forming from it a personal reality that would otherwise be absent, in those terms; and in so doing you also add in an immeasurable fashion to the reality of all other consciousness by increasing the bank of reality from which all consciousness draws.

[...] It also made him think, however, that he was not changing the world in any way that mattered in any important degree—that those in authority did not even read them, and that even my latest work (Mass Reality) would make no inroads. [...]

(Pause.) Our books are read also more often that it seems, for they are borrowed from others, and from libraries, by people who would not buy them in a store—not for financial reasons necessarily. [...]
