[...] As we sat at Jane’s worktable looking them over, I remarked that the notes were well written—this was my particular work. [...]

The affair in the overall will work out well for you  the situation as it now exists. It will work out in the framework that you now have. [...] work out should help give it to you. [...]

[...] Words cannot convey the message but working from the words you can obtain a portion of the reality behind them. [...]

[...] They are recognized intuitively when they appear on the exterior scene because in psychic life they have already been known, and in dream states these dramas have been worked out. [...]

[...] However, they became what they seem to be for these chosen people have also accepted this role, and the exterior drama will be worked out in such a way that it makes sense within the time period in which it seems to take place. [...]

[...] The peasants of course worked closely with the land and seasons, with earth’s natural timing, and even though such work seemed to make time go faster, in the overall the sense of present time included a rich dimension from both present and past, so that in your terms it would seem longer by contrast —richer—when people went to bed earlier, lacking the night’s electricity. (Below, Seth discusses a projection experience of Jane’s on Friday, May 9, that involved her perception of my astral presence in the apartment although I was at work at Artistic Card Company that day.)

Ruburt was working and without realizing it telepathically was aware of your emotional presence. [...]

[...] Proper suggestion before sleep can doubly work to your advantage then, for you are holding your ground in two worlds at once.

If a desire for health leads to an emphasis upon symptoms to be overcome, you would be better off to avoid all thoughts of health or illness, and concentrate in another direction such as work. [...]

Ruburt’s eyes had worked quite comfortably, moving in a very limited range of motion because of the tightened neck, head and shoulder muscles and ligaments. Simply put, the eyes worked while locked into certain positions or focuses. [...]

[...] The eye muscles were trying to work. The bifocals were trying to do the work for the eyes.

You are another such period, where “conditions are working for you.” [...]

[...] This applies to her copying work on the typewriter also. [...] Her intermediate vision needs the most work. [...]

[...] Jane has also been working on her feelings of self approval and disapproval, and credits her efforts with her improvements.)

[...] Again, labels are somewhat implicated, for you each thought you worked well with the pendulum, but that Ruburt did not. [...]

The pendulum will not work, of course, if your self-disapproval is paramount, for then you cannot trust your own answers. [...]

Some beliefs may work very positively for you for certain periods of your life. Because you have not examined them, however, you may carry them long after they have served their purpose, and now they may work against you.

[...] Instead, through working with your own beliefs, take it for granted that your life is important; begin with it and where you are. [...]

If you allow yourself to be more and more aware of your own beliefs, you can work with them. [...]

[...] These two books are, I think we agree, the most recent triggers that she has responded to in a negative way, so yesterday I suddenly realized that Jane must be reacting presently to the imminent publication of those two works. [...]

[...] It is true enough within the present framework of your knowledge, and the idea will work in the same way that the cause and effect theory works, which is only up to a certain point.

(I work all day Friday at Artistic, the rest of the week mornings only. [...] Before that I worked full time there. [...]

[...] I work for a greeting card company, but did not remember seeing other ribbons like it there in particular. [...]

(“Then I did bring this particular card, bearing the ribbon, home from work then?”)

[...] For many reasons too numerous to discuss this evening, I will be working through him only, for I have been working with him for longer than he knows.

[...] Some of tonight’s book work refers to the questions growing out of our talk I think, as does Seth’s brief clarification near the end of the session.)

At deep levels the cells are always working with probabilities, and comparing probable actions and developments in the light of genetic information. [...]

[...] Your private psyche is intimately concerned with your earthly existence, and in your dream state you deal with probable actions, and often work out in that condition the solutions to problems or questions that arise having to do with probable sequences of events.⁴

4. In Volume 1, see Session 687 at 10:01: Seth discussed how the dreamer and his or her probable selves, having “the same psychic roots,” can share in working out a given challenge in a probable reality.

(I haven’t started any new creative ventures yet, although I’ve done considerable work filing, organizing records, etc., to set the stage for whatever develops. [...]

[...] As per James, when democracy does not work, people look elsewhere. [...]

[...] Had you been working on “Unknown,” you would have had far less difficulty with your extractions. [...]

[...] As if it could lead to all kinds of extravagant leisure, laziness, or as if it made you like everybody else (with even more amusement), for when both of you are not “working,” you feel lost without your badges of superiority. [...]

5. Jane has worked with Tam ever since he encouraged her to write The Seth Material 13 years ago; that book was published a year later, in 1970. [...] My plan in the meantime has been to transfer copies of as much of our work as possible to Manuscripts and Archives, so that the material can be indexed and made available to researchers and to the public. I have yet to begin the work of copying, however, although I hope to start it soon now that I can see an end to my involvement with Dreams. In Chapter 2 of Dreams, in Volume 1, see Note 1 for Session 887, which Jane delivered in December 1979.

[...] She had laid it aside to begin work on God of Jane. Although she considered resuming work on Seven Three at various times while she was producing Dreams with Seth, she never did; the status of that novel remains the same. [...]

I can’t note the same for The Magical Approach to Reality: A Seth Book—the very promising work that Jane and I first discussed a year and a half ago [in August 1980], after Seth had started his group of excellent private sessions on that subject.⁸ I watched Jane try to write the book a number of times; last month, in Note 6 for Session 939 [in this chapter], I finally expressed the opinion that she wouldn’t finish the job. [...] As I wrote in Note 6 [for the 939th session], eventually I might try assembling such a work myself.

[...] I congratulated her; I told her that she had created another fine work which would help many people.

All of that work—and more—accounts for the long delay in the completion of Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. Actually, with the exception of one session held in November 1980, I let my work on the book go for over 13 months, from early June 1980 to mid-July 1981.

[...] Seth resumed work on Dreams during that July, but each day I seemed to work less and less. [...]

[...] Ruburt can work with the self-image he has now. [...]

[...] At first she tried to do it as best she could through writing: Painfully, holding her pen awkwardly, she spent over an hour recording the first four paragraphs—even then, after checking our records, I added to her work material about dates and sequences.)

The overall balance is being worked on. The legs are capable, for example, now of straightening out far further, but the entire relationship between every portion of the body is being worked upon.
