“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(I told Jane that I’d long given up trying to hammer out my next writing project, as Seth had mentioned I was trying to do in one of these recent deleted sessions. I was now simply trying to live each day, painting, working on the files, or in the yard, doing errands, and so forth. [...]

(Before supper this evening Jane said she was tired of “trying to figure out the world,” and so forth. [...]

(This took half a page or so, and the session ended at 12:03 a.m. Jane was very surprised at the time involved in delivering the title for Chapter Seventeen. [...]

(Jane was left with a page or so of fragmented notes and a couple of possible chapter headings. [...]

[...] “I didn’t hear any voice while I was doing this,” she said later. [...]

[...] He was our guest from last Friday, September 8 to Sunday, September 10. He said the material was “fantastic.” [...]

(Loud rock music was playing in the apartments above and below us as we sat for the session in our living room. [...]

[...] Something—pressure in my head maybe keeps changing—the bottoms of my feet feel woozy; they throb gently; so does my neck; my breath deepens, ears feel funny—was going to walk around the house or do some other writing but for now at least I’ll have to go along with... [...] this all continues; I feel a twinge of guilt—Rob’s typing reminds me that I was to do my three hours—but this IS writing; cataloging body-mood changes; I want to sketch the men working—eyes, sinuses, ears and neck strongly “working.” [...]

[...] I was getting stuff from Seth before the session, but I haven’t the slightest idea of what he said in the session itself — I don’t remember anything. But it was good, huh?”)

[...] She was in trance before she laid her glasses on the coffee table between us. [...]

[...] There was no exterior cosmic Pied Piper, singing magical notes or playing a magical tune, urging the universe into being. [...]

[...] Actually, I did — a lot of them — particularly concerning certain themes I’ve been writing about lately, but I was tiring so I let the questions go. [...]

[...] Jane was especially interested in trying for a short session now, however, and I brought her red wine on ice.

Now the origin of the universe that you know, as I have described it, was of course a master event. [...]

[...] In man’s case, at least, the selection of who should live or die was often anything but natural. [...]

(Jane made it a point to mention that in regard to the switch in polarities of the units: “This isn’t only with the north and south switching, but opposites anywhere on the rim of the circle [that was used as an analogy], with east and west reversed, for instance.”)

(“Yes?” I thought I probably knew the word Seth/Jane was looking for, but I didn’t have time to think and write notes.)

[...] Jane then said this was the word Seth had been trying to get her to say. [...]

The spontaneous self was never meant to appear as an alien to the conscious personality. [...] Your impulses, intuitions, and creative abilities have always innately provided open channels of communication through which man was guided toward those probable actions most beneficial to his private reality—and those actions would automatically, again, add to the best probable reality for the species as well. [...] The visit was very pleasant but it disrupted our schedule enough so that we ate an hour later than usual. [...]

[...] She’d forgotten what it was, though —“except that it wasn’t about me.” [...]

(The mail was very heavy last week, and Jane still has a batch of Christmas cards to reply to yet, as well as a dozen “regular” letters, even after answering better than 35 letters.

[...] “Well, I guess he’s gotten turned on by what you just read,” she said now—for now she felt that Seth was ready to come through. [...]

Your morning discussion, concerning Ruburt’s past, was also beneficial, for it is good to remind yourselves of your own (underlined) backgrounds, rather than ever comparing yourselves with other people whose own backgrounds may have little to do with yours. [...]

There is no need saying Ruburt would be in better physical condition perhaps if the psychic development has not happened—since that development was a part of his natural growth processes. [...]

(A very short unscheduled session was held Sunday evening, May 29, after company had left. [...]

[...] Jane said she was very well dissociated. [...]

[...] “I wasn’t aware of how I was sitting or anything. I was the most comfortable I’ve been all day.... [...]

[...] I told her that the session was very good, as all of them have been in this recent series. She was pleased.

(The day was hot — over 80 degrees — and felt something like summer for the first time. [...]

[...] We didn’t use one either, and so for the first time in a long while Seth’s material disappeared as rapidly as it was given—an odd experience for us. [...]

[...] Physical space exists in the same manner, except that it is a mass psychologically shared property—but at one “time” in the beginning this was not so.

(Pause.) What was such a world like, and how can you possibly relate it to the world that you know?

(11:08 P.M. Seth’s parting remark was in answer to a question Sue had raised earlier in the evening, about how much revision his book would require. Jane’s opinion, so far, was that the book wouldn’t need any work except for the rearranging of an occasional awkward phrase, etc.)

(This session was witnessed by Carl and Sue Watkins and their infant son Sean. [...]

[...] I would sing a lullaby — this is not for the book — for our small friend here (Sean Watkins, who was nursing again). [...]

There are things he does not remember from his childhood, when he was warned against telling lies—apparitions that he spoke of. He was punished. [...]

One note: Ruburt was correct in the interpretation he just gave you. [...]

He was considered an overimaginative child, and turned much of the inner information into poetic form as he grew from childhood. [...]
