(When Jane was young Marie had in all seriousness often warned her “When I die, I’ll come back and haunt you.” During those years Marie was in her late 20’s and early 30’s, and already incapacitated by arthritis; and, to quote Seth from a session held in 1964, she had “… often spoken vehemently of Ruburt’s birth being a source of disease, and pain, that is of her arthritis … If Ruburt’s mother had it to do over, she would not have the child — and the child hidden within the adult still feels that the mother actually has the power, even now, to force the child back into the womb and refuse to deliver it …”

[...] While we waited for Seth to come through, she talked about the deaths of her parents.¹ Her father, Delmer, died on November 16, 1971, when he was 68; her mother, Marie, died on May 10, 1972, at the same age.

Many have seen that inner world as the source for the physical one, but imagined that man’s purpose was merely to construct physically these perfect images to the best of his abilities. [...]

Seth told us that Rob’s doctor probable self was a Doctor Pietra. [...] Some years ago, Rob did do some medical artwork and was astonished at his success. [...]

[...] Now their love for each other is much freer and more open than it was that first time, and they seem happier.

[...] I was rather upset at the way my notes were running so long in some of the book sessions, and wanted Seth’s comment. My own reaction, after doing a lot of work on them, was that it would be best to cut most of them out. [...]

(Seth’s dictation on his book tonight was preceded by four pages of personal material that we have deleted. [...]

[...] This would apply whether the mental image was a fearful one or a joyful one. [...]

(10:58 P.M. It developed that this was the end of the session. [...]

[...] As was characteristic of us, also, we worked by ourselves for a long time as we attempted to learn more about what we were doing. [...] In large part, that rejection was to continue. [...]

(This prediction was coupled with Jane’s use of the hot towels on her knees—as Seth has suggested she do often in the recent sessions—and which Jane has largely ignored. [...]

[...] Certainly if your joint desire to see Ruburt better was as active and dedicated as theoretically it should be, the towels would have been used.

(10:01 P.M. “Gee, I thought some of that was great while I was giving it, but now I can’t remember what it was,” Jane said as soon as Seth had gone. [...]

[...] [She also relayed to me Seth’s comments about an article on bird migration that I read to her while we were having lunch, but I lost those too.] Jane called me early for the session—at 8:20, while I was still busy with Mass Events. [...]

As soon as she delivered the first phrase of the first full sentence for Chapter 6, I recalled that she’d accurately quoted it to me this afternoon, saying that that was the way Seth would start the session.)

[...] I might note here that earlier this evening Jane was able to raise her right arm higher than she’s been able to do for several years. She wondered why, and I said I thought it was because she’d written her feelings down yesterday and today. [...]
