“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Jane said that after thinking over the recent occasions when strong voice effects were demonstrated, as in the 170th and 172nd sessions, she feels that Seth uses the voice as an insulator for herself and as a projection of himself.)

[...] Her voice was quiet and she used pauses for the first time in quite a few sessions.)

(Jane resumed, again with her eyes closed, and sitting down, in a quiet voice, and at a brisk pace, at 9:31.)

[...] Her voice had been quiet, her manner slow and with pauses. [...]

[...] During it I heard several vague voices, saw several vague scenes, including a white-haired man. [...]

[...] She began dictation in a voice somewhat louder than usual. [...]

[...] Perhaps two women and a man, and loud voices, with a child listening close by.

(Jane resumed in a rather normal voice at 9:30.)

(The voice was not Jane’s, although it was similar in range. [...] I do not know anyone, male or female, who calls me Robert, (least of all in that manner), nor did the voice remind me of anyone I might know, no matter how slightly.

[...] Jane began dictating at 9 PM in a soft and low voice. [...]

(Jane resumed dictating in her quiet voice at 9:31.)

[...] She rocked gently back and forth, speaking in a normal voice. [...]

You have built defenses so strongly that you have not heard the voice of the inner self. [...] You have allowed the ego to become a counterfeit self, and you take its word because you will not hear the muffled voice that is within you speak.

Now: You are not listening to what your own inner voice says. [...]

[...] You must learn to listen to the voice of your inner self, for if you know the use you are to this man, you do not recognize the nature of his use to you.

[...] There are certain rules that my friend Ruburt places upon me, one that I hold my voice under control, and so I will endeavor to do so. [...]

[...] I could tell however that she was somewhat tired, and when she began delivery I thought her voice had a peculiar, flat, expressionless quality that could be the result of fatigue. She spoke very deliberately, in measured phrases, in a voice somewhat lower than usual, but not loudly, and as though she were giving a lecture before a number of people. [...]

(I was somewhat concerned because once again she said that she was tired, and I felt her voice revealed her fatigue rather plainly. [...]

(Again in the same rather flat and deliberate voice, although it was a bit stronger now, Jane resumed at 9:34.)

[...] Toward the end Jane’s voice had become quite dry and hoarse, and I had been on the point of asking for a break when Seth did take one.

[...] As soon as I did a startling thing happened: Jane began to talk in a very loud and vibrant voice. [...] This strong but not especially deep voice persisted, but did drop somewhat in volume after a couple of hundred words. [...]

[...] She spoke as quickly as she could, without changing her voice. [...] Her voice remained strong.)

[...] She had been pacing very fast, but her voice was little stronger than usual.

[...] Her hands felt all right by now and her voice had dropped to almost normal volume.

[...] He clearly heard my voice. [...] He did not sense my presence, but only heard the thunder of the voice. It shocked him because he is used to hearing my words from within his head — he had never before been aware of my voice as existing apart from him. [...] In these instances, however, he was the channel through which my voice came. [...]

He was also aware at the time that while the voice literally boomed out, no one else would have heard it. Yet the voice definitely came from outside of himself, and he certainly seemed to hear it with his physical ears.

[...] You ignore the ghost symbols or voices, the probable actions that also occur, but that are muffled in the clear tones of your accepted reality. [...]

(I reminded Jane that during Monday’s session, the 710th, Seth had promised to “shortly explain” her hearing his booming voice in her sleep state last Saturday night. [...]

(“I’m in between,” Jane said, her voice her own. [...]

[...] I will have more to say in my own way to him in the dream state this evening, and I will shortly explain his experience with my voice.

(She began dictation in a much stronger voice than normal, and maintained it throughout the session. [...]

(She resumed in the same strong, almost loud voice, at 9:20. [...]

[...] If anything, her voice was a bit stronger. [...]

[...] After some thought she said she was aware that she was speaking in a strong voice, during dictation. [...]

[...] Her voice was quiet, her pace quite slow and with pauses.)

(Jane resumed in the same quiet voice, with pauses, and with her eyes closed, at 9:36.)

[...] Her eyes remained closed, her voice quiet.

[...] There was a catch in her voice. [...]

[...] Jane spontaneously gave voice to her song yesterday afternoon while sitting in the glass-enclosed front porch of our hill house. [...] And that present clarity of voice, almost free of tremor, showed how much Jane has improved since returning home. [...]

[...] My voice had been undergoing changes, becoming more similar to what we now call the Seth voice — deeper, lower, richer in tone than mine and more masculine. [...]

(Here Jane’s voice began to get louder and to deepen as she paced back and forth. Although there was quite a change, her voice did not reach either the depth or volume of the previous session.)

[...] Your voice is too sensitive this evening for me to attempt any transformation of it into the more ‘melodious’ accents of my own. [...]

(With a laugh, Rob told me that as Seth, I’d been pacing up and down the room, giving “myself” the dickens about the trance experiment, then switching to the humorous comparison of his voice and mine. [...]

[...] sorting it by date, when Jane said, “Will you write something down for me?” She actually thought it might be from Seth—she could hear his voice reciting it, I believe she said. [...]

Sweet honey-voices sing lullabies and hosannas,

and our voices sting—

[...] Her voice was about average for the most part.)

[...] She had been restless, her voice quite expressive.

(Jane resumed in the same rather fast manner, in a good voice and with her eyes closed, at 9:44.)

[...] Her eyes had remained closed, her pace had been mostly rather fast, her voice a little stronger than usual. [...]

(Voice louder.) There is a peculiar corner within Ruburt’s personality, also deflected into your own, that allows him a rather clear access into informational channels most difficult to reach from your system. [...] (Voice loud and staccato, eyes wide and dark.)

(Jane’s voice had begun to strengthen more, her delivery becoming rather sharp and rapid. [...]

(By now Jane’s voice was more powerful, her delivery sure and rapid, her eyes open often; they were very dark. [...]

[...] Now however, all Jane remembered was that the voice said she was reaching beyond the usual Seth personality.

[...] When she began speaking the voice was high and distant, with little inflection, and as usual ended on a peculiar upbeat so that at times it was hard to detect the ending of a sentence, etc, Jane moved very little as she spoke; her glasses remained on. [...]

[...] There was no disembodied internal voice speaking to Jane here; but a distinct thought, not angry or impatient, addressed to her in terms of “we” and “you.”

[...] She feels distant from the voice, “like signals are far away from my mouth that does the talking.”

[...] Sharon Poley walked in to take Jane’s temperature [98 degrees]; she came in without knocking while Jane was speaking for Seth in a voice deeper and stronger than her regular voice. [...]

[...] Jane’s voice could be attributed to her obviously dictating something to me, which everybody around knew she did each day. [...]

(Wonder now, strangely, if the voice is merely a signal, translated into words... [...] that is, if the voice has a ... [...]

[...] So this time “I” found myself, pulled myself together, briefly found voice while personality was silent and just as I was seeing the giant face peer down over me, at pyramid top, at me, and room. [...]

[...] For the first time, however, Jane gave voice to some doubts about the sessions that I had not realized she entertained. [...]

[...] She began speaking in trance in a quiet voice, with a few pauses, eyes open often.)

I am with you now, though our voice is mild enough, very strongly this evening, and I am making an effort to make my presence known quite definitely to you and to Ruburt; and I shall do this more frequently to build up Ruburt’s confidence.
