[...] It became his version of the soul, and there seemed to be a duality—a self who acted in the physical universe, and a separate spiritlike soul that acted in an immaterial world.

[...] In the dream state you are much more aware of them, although there is a final process of dreaming that often masks intense psychological and psychic experience, and unfortunately what you usually recall is this final dream version.

In this final version the basic experience is converted as nearly as possible into physical terms. [...]

(Jane has just finished the final typing of her own The World View of Paul Cézanne, and now I’m ready to type the finished version of Volume I of Seth’s “Unknown” Reality. [...]

[...] In a way dreams are like variations of the theme of your life, though in reality your life is the theme you have chosen from those possible versions.

[...] At book’s end Jane just laughed and said: “Well, it looks like we just moved our old neighborhood up here—or at least a version of it....”

Dictation: You must understand that in a manner of speaking, Framework 2 is on the one hand an invisible version of the physical universe. On the other hand, however, it is far more than that, for it contains within it probable variations of that universe — from the most cosmic scale, say, down to probable versions of the most minute events of any given physical day.

[...] Each Seth would be completely independent, however, and each appearance would signify the creation of a new personality — not simply a new version of an old one.

There are infinite versions of yourself, but no one negates the others, and each is connected with the others, and aids and supports them. [...]

3. Seth discussed his “blueprints for reality” a number of times in Volume 1 of “Unknown” Reality. See the 696th session, for instance: “Each probability system has its own set of ‘blueprints,’ clearly defining its freedoms and boundaries … These are not ‘inner images of perfection,’ and to some extent the blueprints themselves change … As an individual you carry within you such a blueprint, then; it contains all the information you require to bring about the most favorable version of yourself in the probable system you know … In the same fashion the species en masse holds within its vast inner mind such working plans or blueprints.”

On the one hand, you pursued your version of what was expected of you. [...]

[...] Now Ruburt has much slighter versions, in which, say, daily or weekly tensions no longer collect as they did, which allows him some physical improvement—but he also feels that if he really relaxed he would only do the dishes or whatever. [...]

A note: I do want you to remember Ruburt’s version of last night’s session, and follow my suggestions concerning changes that can serve as variations—working variations—to allow you some rest and refreshment.

2. A note added a month later: My surprise over the double-dream phenomenon continues, for by now I know of nine people (including Sue Watkins and myself), who have experienced either the same thing or closely related versions of it. [...]

[...] Here’s the capsule version of the event that he sent to Tam after I’d asked Tam if he knew of anyone who remembered having such dreams:

[...] They found themselves alone with the Seth material, their paintings, and other manuscripts of Ruburt’s. They had been using a mild version of self-hypnosis to produce a calmness and reduce any panic. [...]

The book should cover your version of our joint experience — your own philosophical explanation of it, the questions it arouses within your own mind, your observations of Ruburt as Jane and in our trance states. [...]
