In between you have the nations’ concerns about world approval or disapproval, and endless versions of face-saving devices. With the individual, of course, you have personal versions of the same issues. [...]

[...] Both react, again, by exhibiting exaggerated versions of the characteristics involved, however. [...]

[...] This sense is a stronger version of inner vibrational touch.

Lesbianism and homosexuality, as they are currently experienced, also represent exaggerated versions of natural inclinations, even as your experienced version of heterosexuality is exaggerated.

(The scientist in question may never answer my letter, but it’s already had one unexpected beneficial effect: Tonight, after he finished book dictation, Seth gave an excellent summation of his own version of what our species like to call evolution. [...]

[...] There are many schools for spiritual advancement that teach you to “get rid of the clutter of your impulses and desires,” to shove aside the self that you are in search of a greater idealized version. [...]

[...] You are not just dealing with a one-line development of matter, but of an unimaginable creativity, in which all versions of your physical world exist, each one quite convinced of its physical nature. [...]

The concepts in “Unknown” Reality will help expand the consciousness of each of its readers, and the work itself is presented in such a manner that it automatically pulls your awareness out of its usual grooves, so that it bounces back and forth between the standardized version of the world you accept, and the unofficial⁷ versions that are sensed but generally unknown to you.

But although for Politics Jane drew upon the same transcendent experience I described in the opening notes for the 715th session, she did so in her own subjective way; in “Unknown” Reality I present my version of the event from an observer’s viewpoint. [...] I think they’re both well worth having on record, since Jane’s experience was a profound one — and, in my opinion, very revealing for what it tells us about how we ordinarily view our mundane physical reality, and about the much more powerful versions, or “models,” for that reality that exist behind it.

[...] The world is so much more solid right now⁴ that by contrast my earlier experience of it is like a shoddy version, made up of disconnected dots or blurred focus….”

(10:02.) He expresses in exaggerated form many quite paranoid tendencies that are considered in a milder version as quite normal. [...] He sees the oil company people out there with helicopters and sophisticated machinery that destroys people’s vital energy—simply a more colorful, exaggerated version of the same idea personally applied. [...]

[...] You are presented with bigger-than-life situations, provided with raw material from life, given exaggerated versions so that from them you can draw the knowledge to help you answer your own questions, and the knowledge to help others whose plights may be less colorful but equally vital.

(The morning after the above session had been held [on September 30, 1974], I asked Jane to write down what she’d told me at about 1:15 A.M. I remembered her description of it at the time, even though I’d been pretty bleary by then, but I wanted her own version for use here. [...]

[...] (Long pause.) Time overlays present you with a picture in which you have free will—yet each event that you choose will have its own time version. Now those time versions may be entirely different one from the others, and while you certainly initiate your own time version, in terms of usual understanding there is no true place or time in which that version can be said to actually originate (again with emphasis).

[...] It is truer to say that those similar events are instead time versions of one larger event. As a rule you experience only one time version of any given action. [...]

(9:14.) Such a time version suggests an occurrence in time, of course, and yet the event may leave only a ghostly track, so to speak, being hardly manifest, while in another life the time version may be of considerable prominence—while in your own experience it represents a fairly trivial incident of an ordinary afternoon.
