As I’ve joked with Jane more than once: “If there’s life after death, each of us in turn will find it out — including the nonbelievers. [...]

(“I guess you’ve gone into my main question, about the sperm: If practically all of them are never going to fulfill their primary purpose, what other roles do they have in life?”)

[...] I’ve been leading up to the actual writing for a couple of weeks now, what with my making chronologies, and so forth, and will be happy to get really into it. [...]

(“You’ve got to,” I said. [...]

(“I also got that he’s going to say that in ordinary terms we don’t have access to all the information we’ve got at one time because consciously it would be so hard to sort through it — but that we really are conscious of it, and for working purposes we just pretend that we aren’t. He’s said that before — that the so-called unconscious portions of ourselves are in themselves quite conscious.”

(We’ve had several guests since the last session was held. I’ve been busy putting my own notes for Seth’s “Unknown” Reality in order, and have also allowed myself some painting time each day. [...]

(“These comments about Seth’s abilities seem obvious when they’re considered as I’ve just described them, yet I don’t think I’ve thought of what Seth can do in just that way before. [...]

[...] Seth’s abilities remind me of material I’ve written recently on how certain portions of the personality or psyche must very shrewdly and carefully construct dreams in advance, so that when the dreams are played back they render just the right message to the parts of the psyche that need it. [...]

4. Two days after delivering the first session for The Magical Approach, Jane made notes about her mental exchange with our dear longtime friend, “Mary” (the name I’ve given her):

[...] I’ve picked up on Mary’s relationships before.…

[...] And as I’ve shown in the notes for Dreams, it’s also obvious that in spite of Seth’s reassurances, and my own, she hasn’t felt safe wherever she goes.

If I’ve gone kinky— / legs at crazy angles— /
arms half bent— / no longer walking upright— /
a physical outcast— / and a mental speed-demon— /
well, no more apologies—from me / to me.

[...] / I’ve prowled around it / for too long /
in circles; sniffing; / and I never did / say thanks.

(Jane delivered that whole paragraph with great flowing intensity, and I’ve punctuated it to the best of my ability just as it came through her. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her speak more eloquently for Seth, and with more certainty. [...]

[...] I’ve been picking up some great stuff from Seth on the book, too….” [...]

[...] I’ve started mowing a little grass each day.)

[...] It’s easily the longest I’ve asked in a session. [...]

3. I’ve been saving the following untitled poem of Jane’s for a spot like this. [...]

[...] I can write that many of the characteristics Seth mentioned this evening apply to us, as we’ve learned over the years — especially those concerning our love of art, our being initiators, and our desires to be free of social structures. [...]

[...] Not only that: I must note that even several years later we’ve still acquired no Seth material at all on such possible counterpart and family-of-consciousness roles. [...]

Although in this note I’ve stressed the “what-might-have-been” aspects of that second question, the same thinking can apply to the first one also, in which I wanted to know how many families of consciousness might be chosen by the reincarnating personality during its “cycle” of simultaneous lives. [...]

[...] They’ve involved healing, however, and in one of them she even expected to wake up healed—but found herself moving slowly on the bed as usual. [...]

(“You’ve got it backwards.” [...]

A third point came up this morning, one we’ve talked about often lately. [...]

After all, if he does come through others—or can if he wants to—why hasn’t Seth himself simply said so, and repeatedly, in the books as we’ve published them over the years? [...]

[...] I’ve just reread the last session, as has Jane, and will merely note here that I agree with much of it, especially with what I said in the notes —yet, rereading them, I can see how our attitudes brought about that material and its consequences. [...]

[...] “That answers one question I’ve had for some time: I was getting pretty squirrelly—I wondered if I could still have a session. [...]

[...] We’ve had 31 private or nonbook sessions since then, and a number of them contain information on Frameworks 1 and 2 — much of it relevant to that presented in Mass Events. [...]

[...] As though I was on the edge of getting some great stuff I’ve never heard of before. [...]

[...] “Maybe I got tired this afternoon, working on the Intro for ‘Unknown.’ I’ve had messages from Seth the last few days about the book stuff for the session tonight, but what we got doesn’t fit any of them…. And I’ve got that feeling again, that more time should have passed while I was under: I think it should be a lot later now than it is. [...]

(Jane has written down her feelings each day since we began the new program, and we’ve then discussed them. [...]

(We’ve already reorganized and condensed the morning suggestions, as Seth recommends our doing in this session, and find that they’re now much more effective. [...]

[...] “I’ve been doing this book for so long by now,” Jane commented, “that I don’t know if it’s a great big sprawling thing without any order, or what. I’ve lost all track of whatever sense of continuity it’s got,” she amended. [...]

Much in these passages fits in with material I’ve presented in Appendix 12, on the reasons behind the pain and suffering in the world. [...]

[...] In that sense, if the house we’ve just moved into was physically older than the one we left behind, I suppose we’d still call it new.

I’ve found that only my own writing gives me the particular kind of creative satisfaction that I need, however — the conscious involvement with unconscious material, the “excitement of the chase.” [...]

[...] I’ve had several “out-of-body” experiences also during sessions, when I saw events actually happening some thousands of miles away.

[...] (In the same amount of time I’ve published two books, finished another, and begun a fourth. [...]

[...] The closest I’ve come to explaining my own views was in a short intuitive statement I wrote for my ESP class, as I tried to clear my ideas for myself and my students as well. [...]

[...] I’ve discovered that that’s the only way to get anything done in the long run, without going to enormous lengths to attempt to reconstruct events perhaps a couple of years later, or whatever. [...]
