Some of Ruburt’s short notes, written after the nightmare experience (and which I’ve asked Jane to copy for this record), show that he is beginning to put that material into its proper reference. [...]

(I also planned to start reviewing the first deleted sessions Seth gave on Jane’s symptoms, for I’ve never really forgotten them and always felt they were as good as any Seth has ever given on those subjects. [...]

(Actually, we’ve had two recent indications that Seth was going to initiate something like the counterpart thesis, even though he hadn’t used the term itself. [...]

(So far we’ve been dealing with the idea of counterparts in our own physical reality. [...]

This is the first time since the sixties that the Gallaghers have ever mentioned those paintings to us also; although they’ve been to Lib’s many times in those years … It’s also interesting that Peg didn’t see the fourth painting, either … She and I seem to “pick up” from each other fairly well, according to past instances…

Seth had said six weeks ago that the issue would be settled to my satisfaction, and our lawyer had said not to worry, and that’s the last we’ve heard. [...]

[...] We’ve already spent half an hour talking over their contents; even while we discussed them Jane remembered elements she hadn’t written down. [...]

[...] I feel that my sleep with the pillow, and my later reactions of soreness, mean that I’ve touched upon, again, those areas I’d forsaken for some time, and shoved away or whatever, and that the release of tension itself was bound to be somewhat explosive, I suppose. [...]

(We’ve been having but one session a week while I’ve been typing the finished manuscript for Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality. [...]

[...] I’ve chosen excerpts dealing with the subjects at hand. [...] In the chapter on health, for example, I’ve included excerpts from some readings for specific people. I’ve followed the same procedure with the data on reincarnation. [...]

[...] I’ve never been one to accept other people’s word about the nature of things, even though at times I have accepted more than I should have. I’ve always wanted to find out for myself. [...]

You’ve been largely operating from a base that isn’t naturally yours but was taken on as a result of your sympathy for the world and for the problems of others. [...]

[...] Ever since, we’ve been very aware of the effect our behavior and moods have on our cats and have observed the same reinforcement or lack of it in other people’s relationship with their animals.

“Do you realize that the entire session contained more psychological insight into me and more hints into my behavior than I’ve ever received in any way whatsoever? [...]

(With one exception, which I’ll get to later, we’ve spent another long period — 9 weeks — without holding book sessions. [...]

(This flexibility also generates some challenges, however, for the great amount of material we’ve accumulated during the Mass Events hiatus gave us the urge to see what we could do about getting at least some of it published, so that others could benefit. [...]

(Since the 806th session was held 10 weeks ago [on July 30], then, I’ve worked steadily on Volume 2 of “Unknown.” [...]

[...] We’ve already made known to Seth our desires that he go into his Frameworks 1 and 2 material much more extensively in Mass Events, since those concepts are so closely involved with the individual and collective experiences surrounding the lives of everyone.³

[...] An as artist myself, I’ve experienced this “critical” phenomenon more than once. Sometimes the results have been laughable — but more often they’ve been frustrating. I’ve also been praised or criticized for elements that I hadn’t realized existed in a painting, while my conscious intentions were ignored or unperceived. [...]

[...] Then: “Well, I don’t tell you everything, but for some time now I’ve known Seth gives what I call ‘fill-in’ sessions, or ‘floating material’— stuff he could give any time. [...]

[...] There are certain sessions I’ve labelled ‘fill-in’ sessions in my mind for some time now, or thought of them as covering ‘floating material.’ They aren’t book sessions or specifically personal ones. [...]

(“Well” I said, somewhat defensively, “I’ve always enjoyed having the sessions at night, working after supper, and so forth.”)

[...] We talked for a few moments, then Jane said, somewhat wonderingly: “I think I’ve got the title. [...]

[...] “Now I’ve forgotten even the title,” Jane said as soon as she came out of an excellent trance, or dissociated state.

[...] Now I’ve got to go to the john, though — and besides that, I feel like I could go to bed and sleep for hours….”

1. Recently I asked Jane if Seth could give us some information on the consciousness connected with nuclear energy—a fascinating question I’ve often speculated about—and she promised me that he’d discuss it soon. [...] Since we cannot bear to face the great raw power of nuclear energy either, I’ve often wondered whether this situation can be an earthly, imperfect and time-ridden analog to what must be the reality of All That Is.

[...] Actually, we’ve been quite aware of the potential of such an idea ever since Seth began that material a year ago.³ After supper this evening we went over the loose-leaf notebook of information Jane has accumulated for The Magical Approach to Reality: A Seth Book, and discussed how she could follow her outline in putting all of that material—on our dreams, psychic events and insights, her poetry and our essays—together with Seth’s private sessions on the magical approach.
