In this case, the notes allowed Ruburt to see the vaster and yet even more intimate kind of communication that unites you, and that unites all of life.

At this point in my speculations I’m usually led back to Seth’s EE (or electromagnetic energy) units, and his CU’s (or units of consciousness). [...] According to Seth, each unit of consciousness “contains within itself innately infinite properties of expansion, development and organization; yet within itself always maintains the kernel of its own individuality…. [...] I’ll make two references to Volume 1: In Session 682, after 9:47, Seth told us that in our terms his CU’s, or units of consciousness, “can move forward or backward in time. [...]

Each of you act as transformers, unconsciously, automatically transforming highly sophisticated electromagnetic units into physical objects. [...] Each thought and emotion spontaneously exists as a simple or complex electromagnetic unit — unperceived, incidentally, as yet by your scientists.

[...] By this I mean energy that appears simultaneously both to you and probable selves in other realities; psychic connections having to do with a uniting, sympathetic, emotional reaction and a connection that shows up very strongly in the dream state.

[...] Your historical earth as you know it has developed in many different ways, and there is a deeply unconscious connection that unites all such manifestations.

[...] These are not written within the chromosomes as words might be written upon paper, but the information and the chromosomes are a living unit. [...]

[...] I see the passive, thinking and unthinking tolerance of animal experimentation as a classical case of a society using ends to justify means—yet in the United States, at least, we carefully teach each generation of our species that such rationalizations aren’t morally acceptable….

[...] Now as a unit your separate realities obviously form a larger combined unit in which you operate. [...]

As a unit you operate in certain ways. [...]

[...] I hope that in other portions of this book certain mental exercises will allow you to leap over the tradition of time’s framework and sense with the united intellect and intuitions your own individual part in a spacious present that is large enough to contain all of time’s segments.

[...] For purposes of discussion, however, we must say that in your terms each smallest portion — each smallest unit of pure energy — contains within it the propelling force toward the formation of all possible variations of itself.

The smallest unit of pure energy, therefore, weighing nothing in your terms, containing within itself no mass, would hold within its own nature the propensity for the creation of matter in all of its forms, the impetus to create all possible universes. [...]

[...] Since their potential has individual variety, it depends a good deal upon the personality’s ability to utilize energy as a unit, or to transform energy into unit patterns.

This talent for using energy to form unit patterns is elemental, not only on your plane but in all other planes. [...]

[...] And this part is certainly as legitimate and actually more necessary to you as a whole unit, as far as survival on your physical plane is concerned, than the part that also plays bridge or Scrabble. [...]

As breathing is carried on in a manner that seems automatic to the conscious mind, so this important function of transforming the vitality of the universe into pattern units also seems to be carried on automatically. [...]

At the same time, EE units (see Note 3) became manifest. [...] The EE units contain within themselves the latent knowledge of all of the various species that can emerge under those conditions. [...] You can say that it took untold centuries for the EE units to “initially” combine, forming classifications of matter and various species, or you can say that this process happened at once. [...]

In Volume 1, Seth carried this material a step further through his description of his CU’s, or “units” of consciousness. “I do not want you to think of these units as particles,” he said in the 682nd session (given in February 1974). “There is a basic unit of consciousness that, expressed, will not be broken down….” [...]

[...] Evidently it would lead from biology through microbiology to physics with, ultimately, a search that at least approached Seth’s electromagnetic energy (EE) units and units of consciousness (CU’s). [...]

[...] To Jane’s and my way of thinking, if there’s value fulfillment there’s consciousness, expressed through CU’s, or units of consciousness.

Because of the opposition of local people and Pennsylvania officials, utility executives have not been allowed to restart Unit No. [...] The cleanup at TMI must proceed regardless of whether Unit No. [...]

Ever since the accident to the nuclear reactor of Unit No. [...]

At the beginning of these notes I wrote that three months passed after Jane finished Chapter 10 of Dreams before she held her next session—a private one—on November 9. In that short session Seth sought to add his reassurances to Jane’s own, and to mine as well.¹⁰ On the 12th Columbia was launched as scheduled, but only after another delay caused by the failure of an electronic decoding unit. [...] I don’t know whether the nuclear power industry in the United States will die, but it’s in great trouble: Various studies show that around half of the 90 reactors under construction could be replaced by more economical coal-fired plants, containing excellent pollution-control equipment. [...] In its own way the flood was a religious event, for it united diverse groups of people — who did not always have the most humanistic of intents — with the community. [...]

[...] The crisis united the people. [...]

[...] Questions of geographical limits, time, and money enter in, of course; but if the study was at all illuminating, it could be expanded to include the state of New York, for instance, then Pennsylvania — and finally the entire eastern seaboard of the United States. [...]

[...] They unite and stimulate his creative abilities so that he does what comes naturally, easily and vitally to him, searching out his own view of reality—but in certain areas the intellect and the emotions begin to separate in their visions of the picture of the world. [...]

[...] I was aware of a greatly enlarged feeling in each of the fingers to some degree, as before, but this time the feeling that my fingers were somehow united into a pawlike or clublike unit was dominant.

[...] Astonished, you discover that a small coral path unites you with the next island that is glimpsed, shimmering now through the ever-growing window in the mist. [...]

[...] They can combine and unite with others, yet retain their uniqueness and experience. [...]

[...] This has meaning in terms of your [unpublished] information⁸ involving the masculine and feminine aspects that united and separated your parents. [...]

In the last session see the material, with notes 1 and 7, on Einstein, as well as Note 5; in the 684th session the material on the multidimensional activities and fluctuations of Seth’s CU’s (or units of consciousness), electrons, and other such phenomena; and in the 681st session the material, with Note 7 especially, on science, probable atoms, and the basic unpredictability behind all systems of reality. [...] Thus, according to Seth, we have a most complicated and profound dance of units or essences — behavior not really amenable to translation in words.
