(Long pause.) Since ancient times religion has tried to help man understand the nature of his own subjective reality — but religion has its own dark side, and for this reason religion unfortunately has fostered fear of the spontaneous.

[...] You have, of course, a strong drive toward sexuality, and if you believe that it is to be shunned at the same time, then you are in a very ambiguous position. [...]

Many men look forward to having sons, while at the same time they revere marriage as a necessary part of respectable family life, and also feel that marriage is somehow degrading — particularly to a male — and that the sex act itself is only justified if it brings him an heir.

(4:34 p.m. Jane’s rather slow delivery had been interrupted three times by staff. [...]

[...] Dream images are often images which cannot be created for various reasons within physical reality at any particular time. [...]

I feel that I should explain myself to some degree, concerning the infrequent unscheduled sessions that occur, and some of the reasons behind the voice effects, which indeed we do keep under control most of the time.

[...] Most uncomfortable, even at times in bed. The seemingly innocuous injury, which hasn’t even left a black-and-blue sign, is quite painful at times and most inconvenient in regards to various bodily functions involving any sudden movements, as in sneezing, etc.

[...] I kept recalling things about those times, and so did she as the morning passed. [...]

The service station and entire setup was chosen because it represented excellent symbolism, and unconsciously referred you back to the time when your father made his batteries, and owned that business.

[...] So you might have been that kind of person, with the belief system of your times, and with your background. [...]

[...] This was the time of caution and danger, when a man could retire, settle for security, give in to complacency—or even become a gentleman farmer—as he was at times tempted to do (with amusement).

(A few notes, rather than at the end of the sessions:On Thursday, November 9, I had the two teeth extracted by Paul O’Neill—a difficult time indeed, but after an uncomfortable night and morning, am recovering as expected. [...]

[...] After you and Ruburt met, you had little-enough money for some time, as you tried to find your way, and you had little taxes at all. [...]

[...] A time of conflict, and emotional turmoil. [...]

[...] I could list many more, but probably won’t. I still don’t think Seth would want to spend much time discussing that old material in any detail, since he’s said many times that focusing on what was wrong in the past is negative and self-defeating. [...]

(As I mentioned doing at the close of last Saturday night’s deleted session, today I paid our NY State and Federal income taxes a few days ahead of time, hoping the action would contribute to my sense of freedom, and perhaps Jane’s too. [...]

(Willy kept bugging me as I tried to make notes for this session—sitting as he does close to me on the couch, wanting to stare at me and be petted at the same time, while I try to accomplish something. [...]

[...] You were saddled with the usual beliefs of your times, and yet trying to understand new ones. [...]

The individual may act purposefully, with power, energy, and strength, for varying lengths of time. [...]

Her trend of memory will go back to the last time that she was in charge of consciousness, and she will have — or may not have — any idea of the existence of Norma A at all. [...]

[...] Norma A may actually grow into a more and more assertive or belligerent personality, even displaying violent tendencies at times, while on the other hand Norma B might become even more timid, depressed, and solitary.

[...] He may carry on a fruitful accomplished existence for varying lengths of time.

[...] I’ve never been one to accept other people’s word about the nature of things, even though at times I have accepted more than I should have. [...] I do much better that way, because I don’t feel that I’m being tested, and I don’t have time to fret about results. [...]

[...] While he sees reincarnation as a fact, he places it in an entirely different time context, and reconciles the theory with the idea of “simultaneous” time. [...]

“If you sell yourselves short, you will say, ‘I am a physical organism and I live within the boundaries cast upon me by space and time. [...] I am free of space and time. [...]

[...] (More than this, he let me use his real name, rather than hiding behind a pseudonym.) In his letter he said: In the session “I chose topics of conversation which were clearly of tolerable interest to Seth and considerable interest to me, and which by that time I had every reason to believe were largely foreign territory to Jane. [...]

[...] The relationship of the individual to time and space has altered. Time out of the body is “free time” by your standards. [...]

[...] At such times consciousness simply puts itself in a different relationship with time and space. [...]

[...] There are various questions involving the nature of perception that then occur, and these will be discussed somewhat later (but see Note 4). Consciousness is equipped to focus its main energy, in your terms at least, generally within the body, or to stray from it for varying amounts of time. [...] In far-past historical times, different kinds of orientation were experimented with (as by the “sleepwalkers” described in the last session, for instance). Your own present private experience can give hints and clues about such other cultures, for those abilities reside within the natural framework, now, but are underdeveloped.

8. So far in the two volumes of “Unknown” Reality, Seth has discussed the freedom of cells from time, along with a number of their other attributes, in well over a dozen sessions. In Session 684 (in Volume 1) he said at 10:07: “Your body’s condition at any time is not so much the result of its own comprehension of its ‘past history’ as it is of its own comprehension of future probabilities. [...]

(Jane had no idea of the material due, as session time approached. [...]

I am indeed going to hold a very brief session, out of the goodness of my heart, and for the sole purpose of letting you know that I do, if only occasionally, give you some time off. [...]

[...] Bill is in the process, incidentally, of moving out of his parents’ home and into a studio and apartment in downtown Elmira, where he is going to live and at the same time maintain an art gallery. [...]

[...] She reported that while delivering the material she had a timeless feeling that belied the little actual clock time that had passed. [...]

[...] You take it for granted that unless you husband your time, and divide it, what you want done will not be done in time, and so you inhibit creative ideas by your attitude. [...]

[...] But this time the whole body structure is involved.

[...] The sleeping periods have become times of accelerated healing. [...]

As of last May, when she laid it aside to begin work on her own The God of Jane: A Psychic Manifesto, Jane had some 17 chapters in fairly good shape for her third Seven novel, Oversoul Seven and the Museum of Time. [...] Jane would especially like to do another book of poetry, since she published Dialogues of the Soul and Mortal Self in Time way back in 1975. [...] [Personally, I just wish I had more time to sit quietly and reread some of her poetry.]

(Actually, it’s taken me a long time—a little over three years—to round out these preliminary notes for the session that follows. [...] [Mitzi didn’t watch me this time.] Much has taken place in Jane’s and my lives since 1979, as it has for everyone else, but here in the light of the corner streetlight the scene outside our place was just as magical and mysterious as ever. [...] The cicadas and the katydids still sounded their hypnotic rhythms, I’ve heard geese often lately, moving south in noisy waves, and we’ve had deer in our driveway several times. [...]

[...] There are thousands of farm-bred animals, however [and have been], all throughout civilization, alive for a time, well-cared-for for a time—animals who in usual terms would not exist except for man’s “gluttonous” appetite for meat. [...]

[...] At the same time I’ll be taking Jane’s dictation for Dreams. [...]

[...] We are at all times flexible.

[...] I did not realize I had run low on gas at the time, for the car started as we coasted down hill. [...]

[...] To our surprise the second tow and repair were free, the service manager telling us there was corrosion on the coil connections, and that the mechanic should have noticed this and corrected it the first time the car was in the garage.

(The 220th session, containing Seth’s advice, was held while the car was in the garage the first time. [...]

[...] As I believe I suggested over a year ago, the present witnesses are most beneficial, and I would suggest on some evening when the time is available, that we take advantage of their help, and hold a session under circumstances that allow us both larger scope in terms of quality and in terms of time.

I do however find myself hampered at times, and it is for this reason that I have made my suggestion. [...] But we have been so serious of late, we have dealt with such serious and weighty matters, that I have not had time to make my personality known, or to speak with you as I would wish.

I will now suggest your first break, and as I have said many times, do not break up, for then I should have to pick up the pieces.

[...] Toward the end of this delivery her voice had increased in volume, and at times almost boomed out.

[...] Three months later you have had a really bad day and you are mad at life in general and now you come and find our poor friend upon the floor, this time, perhaps, asleep at a chore somewhat more important that you wanted done. Now, far be it from me, even in a fantasy, to accuse you of such an act, but you stand here and look at a slattern and this time you are out of your mind. But again, it behooves you to deny your true feelings in order to be spiritual, which is not true spirituality and you say again, God bless you, may you go in peace, and this time the psychic safety valve has had too much. [...]

Now, our friend back here (Ned) has tried his disappearing act for some time and a good deal of the time he does it without knowing that he does it, and on occasion he tries it deliberately. [...]

[...] she (reference to Alison) was a male, however, at the time, and when I said you were not ready I meant that you were not ready. In that time you were very concerned with the idea of power, and it is one that you are still deliberating with. [...]

[...] Now, telepathically, our fine young fellow knows exactly what you are feeling at the time. [...]

[...] By this time of course recriminations were beginning to fly back and forth by phone, although this did not involve Jane and me. [...]

(By the time the landlord realized we couldn’t shovel our own way out, he couldn’t get his own plow into the driveway, nor could he hire help; everyone was busy. [...]

[...] Possibly he will have some kind of a visitation from his own father to warn him ahead of time.

[...] Most of the time Jane sat with her head down and her hands raised to her face, as during the Instream and envelope tests.

[...] At first the date had been November 2. The idea of mother spending some time with Dick is not new of course, and this particular visit, postponed several times because of a bus strike, has been in the wind for a long time.)

[...] On Jane’s part this would instead be an extension of her personality into areas far beyond the personality’s own capabilities at her time and in her space.

[...] Jane saw the scene clearly, and among other facts realized that in this ancient time both she and the student were existing as males in that life. [...]

[...] Following our analogy, Jane’s self 2 is in another position where contact is not possible at this time.

[...] It’s difficult to describe what she told me, and would take many words and much time. [...]

[...] At one time here she thought she was only four years old. [...]

[...] “Then the rest of the time I was involved with recorders.” [...]

[...] The entire episode shows the way that the mind derives new experience through using more than one level of consciousness at any given time. [...]

[...] There is one body, in one time, but the self has other bodies in other times. All “times” exist at once. [...]
