Yet as I listened to her I felt that at times the Sinful Self seemed to almost be trying to put the blame for her symptoms off on other portions of the personality—or let’s say that that was one of the feelings I had. [...] Jane said several times that she understood my feelings, but that at the same time I was misunderstanding what she’d written that day [Friday]. [...]

[...] Indeed, they wouldn’t have the time or the talent to make consciously known to themselves all the details of their challenges that had made them ill to begin with. [...]

(I thought, then, that much of the time most people simply get well through an unwitting trust in their bodies to heal themselves. [...]

[...] The notion of one life at a time, in any time period, is bullshit—the psyche is so rich that it can have more than one life at a time—like your Nabene and Roman lives together, in the first century A.D. But if you tell people that you’ll get them all confused....”

It is only because I am so aware of the reality of time to you that I leave now, for I realize that your hour is late. But time is as transparent as the air in this room and your 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 o’clock flies through the air like birds. [...]

Many of the sensations or stages that are definitely considered negative at such times, and certainly appear so in your experience, are the result of misunderstandings because of ingrained beliefs about body behavior, or the result of your lack of confidence. [...]
