When he is proficient with the bathroom routine, which you were very wise to begin, we will start some other simple new routines, one at a time, instilling appropriate body reaction to a safe universe. [...]

Inner mobility during this time will be sensed in the legs, though not as quickly apparent. [...]

[...] I can’t help but mourn as I write this piece; I tell myself that had I seen the poems as Jane produced them I might have learned a little more about her each time; I might have been able to help her more than I had over the years. [...] It must have come to your attention that I have mentioned the nature of your love for each other many times—often when you would have preferred some other material —but I do again want to stress it as a vital ingredient in Ruburt’s recovery. [...]

[...] One by one my mental connections fell into place as I searched for it, yet for a time I was quite frustrated while I tried to physically verify my unconscious knowledge of its location.

[...] But this time, in spite of my system of indexing each session in at least a fairly adequate fashion, several days passed before I found the passage I wanted. [...]

[...] Ruburt “loved” to do housework at one time. [...] At the same time those same worldly concerns led him to wonder about the validity of his own “messages”—and how responsible he was to the world for them—so the symptoms also served to give him a greater sense of caution, to temper creativity, for all the reasons stated in the Sinful-Self material. [...] The session had been excellent—so excellent that I’d felt like interjecting many questions as Seth preceded along: one of those times when I had a hard time not injecting myself, with my own impatience, into the session. [...]

[...] I’ve wished, often that I’d asked him to elaborate at the time—or at least marked the session so that I could find the remark later. [...]

Ruburt’s set of beliefs for some time were so invisible, and he identified with them so completely, that it was extremely difficult for him to examine them in the light of the present and his now situation.

[...] He thought you hated distractions, and for a period of time he felt that you thought him one.

Give us time.... [...]

[...] Do not check on yourself all the time. [...]

I realize it is difficult to understand at times, but even your so-called mistakes have many far-reaching beneficial results that do not show in any isolated fashion. [...]

It portrays the new consciousness seeing itself unique and separate, evolving from the tree of life and therefore able to examine its fruits, to see itself for the first time as different from others, like the serpent who crawled upon the surface of the earth. [...]

[...] This is done with many such methods on a consistent basis by people all the time. [...]

His rejection of the foods for this length of time persisted as a symbol that he was still not facing his beliefs. [...]

[...] (Long pause.) At any given time there will be various climates of belief pervading the world. [...]

[...] He tried to rise above the idea-systems of those times, yet even he had to use them, and so the connotations of sin and punishment distorted the message given.

This of course involves considerations of race, and you must realize that your present race is the one into which you were born, in your terms, in this place and time. [...]

[...] Jane said she thought that right away Seth was starting to answer my question of yesterday — not the portion about radiation and why that phenomenon is too strong for us to bear, but the part about the consciousness embodied in cancer, say, which is also too much for us much of the time. [...] I was reminded to tell her that in reviewing many of the personal sessions we’d had at the time Seth was also delivering Dreams, he’d stressed over and over again that each time her body had tried to heal itself, with sore muscles resulting, Jane had tightened herself back up. [...]

[...] Instead, over a period of time you have been consciously entertaining negative beliefs that then generated the strong feelings of despondency.

The above is one of the most important sentences in this book in practical terms, and working within the framework of time as you understand it. [...]
