“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Jane is still writing her book of poetry, Dialogues of the Soul and Mortal Self in Time.¹ Last week she taped some of this material. [...]

[...] Her diction was not quite clear enough on the tape for us to distinguish between the two. [...]

[...] We’re no longer into that activity for a number of reasons; yet when the host for a Miami, Florida, radio show called Jane early this morning [September 30] about the possibility of a taped interview, she impulsively suggested to that rather startled individual that the tape be made then — and so for half an hour she exchanged with him a free, unrehearsed dialogue about her work for later airing.

[...] The notes are a summary, written from memory; later a tape recorder may be used.

(Jane told me that “at the tail end of the session,” she had picked up this idea from Seth; I could tape a session, and while it was in progress I would be free to do a series of sketches of her speaking for Seth. [...]

I wanted to make a note here, that the tape recorder should work very well as Ruburt plans to use it in connection with collecting dream data.

[...] Those sessions are recorded; then during the week a dedicated class member goes to all the work of transcribing the tape and having the script duplicated.

[...] I’d forgotten too; Jane had talked about it while I helped her straighten up the living room at about 1:15 a.m. But we won’t see a transcript of the class tapes until next Tuesday night.

(Brad remarked it had also helped him while he was taping and typing the sessions.)

[...] I came down with it after asking Seth last Monday, December 7, whether the taped session we’d made for the Claire TV show in Washington had been shown yet. [...]

(Fortunately, class member Sue Watkins managed to tape all but the first few paragraphs of the session, but even the sense of those was taken down in longhand by another student while Sue got our recorder going. [...]

Pretend, pretend that yourself...your whole identity, is a tape, such as being used here, but in stereophonic. [...]
