“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

The spontaneous self represents basic abilities. The super-conscientious self represents the purposes to which these abilities will be put—how and when they shall be used. The super-conscientious self is the motivation power or purpose.

The message (the contents of the last session, the 367th), so far has reached the super-conscientious self. (Pause.) It is not kicking up a fuss so much as hesitating in caution. It was the spontaneous self who kicked up the fuss this afternoon, thinking: hurry, hurry, hurry, see things my way (when Jane tried to work on the dream book, unsuccessfully).

You, as teacher in this love relationship now, can count oddly enough on the passivity of his nature, and play on this, for then assured, reassured, the super-conscientious self can allow the spontaneous self to emerge in the sex relationship.

Now. You see Ruburt has accepted you as an extension of the super-conscientious self, and your word was added to the taboos already set up. Therefore a mystical import, a magical import, was given to your every word.

The Sinful Self in the past has felt even more sinful, or example, in comparison to the unrealistic expectations set upon the self by the super-images. Ruburt expected to be the super healer, super clairvoyant, and so forth. [...]

[...] He feels caught between that image of expected super-competence and the image of the Sinful Self, which feels competent of doing very little. [...]

(11:00.) You say that the books are Ruburt’s, yet I told you that you are also responsible, for your combined intents, purposes, and abilities combine to form “a super intent, a super purpose, a super ability,” and propel you into those heroic dimensions. [...]

Important Note: I’ve been following Seth’s instructions fairly well, not completely—and today got more good James on Faith: he mentions the extra-normal or super-normal power again. [...]

[...] If so—that in itself is quite legitimate and important; yet I feel, felt, Seth’s personality in a way super-straddle my own as I know it; and that is what the heroic dimensions would do....

Today you changed a bank account over from an ordinary savings account to what you might call a super-account, where the very same amount of money will give you approximately twice as much interest. [...]

Jane’s declaration of the “super-real” aspects of her ecstatic state, that “The world is so much more solid right now,” soon had me hunting for relevant material I remembered Seth giving, but couldn’t place. [...] Yours is not a system of reality formed by the most intense concentration of energy … Other portions of yourself, therefore, of which you are not consciously aware, do inhabit what you could call a super-system of reality in which consciousness learns to handle and perceive much stronger concentrations of energy….”

[...] Each person who passes the car is more than three-dimensional, super-real in this time, but part of a ‘model’ of a greater self … and each person’s reality is obviously and clearly more than three-dimensional. [...]

At least to some degree, Jane’s exploration last Friday afternoon of those super-real models for our world represented her use of the sixth inner sense — the same one, she wrote in Chapter 19 of The Seth Material, that “… also shows itself in inspirations, and episodes of spontaneous ‘knowing.’ Surely this sense was partially responsible for my Idea Construction manuscript.” [...]

(Jane said she’d have the session early, so I could watch the Super Bowl, which was to begin at 4:30, but I said it didn’t matter all that much. [...]

You may therefore be trying out many different kinds of experiences, sometimes endowing yourself with super attributes and strength, relying upon the body’s powers above all other considerations, while at the same time in another life you use and develop unusual mental abilities, enjoying the triumphs of creative thought, while largely ignoring the body’s agility and strength.

[...] He felt relatively free in his spontaneity in the beginning with you, for he granted you super-human abilities, relying upon what he thought to be almost absolute strength and stability. [...]

[...] I am using the name here, Christ, as one person for the sake of discussion, for that entity touched many lives, each leaping into a kind of super-reality as it joyfully played its part in the religious drama.

[...] Some people thought that I was trying to put Seth down, or deny them the aid of a super-being when at last they thought they’d found one.
