[...] In times of psychological stress or crisis, quite unwittingly you withhold this strong reinforcement.

4. In this (725th) session Seth mentions two of my recent inner experiences and one of Jane’s. Each one had to do with strands of consciousness, although in this note I’ll stress only the very unsettling one I had with my “dead” father last Sunday night, December 11.

[...] We discussed with Jim Tennant our reasons for our very cautious approach to and with the Seth material, stressing our feeling that it was best to be on the very conservative side as far as claims, etc., went. [...]

[...] The stresses and strains are in a fashion not simply those of one person and that person’s relationship with his own nature. [...]

“In the meantime, Ruburt experiences the stress in a certain fashion.

[...] However it cannot be stressed too strongly that consciousness is merely a state of focus, and not a self.

[...] (Pause.) He was gifted intuitively and intellectually, however, and naturally was propelled toward growth in both areas — areas that he felt stressed contradictory rather than complementary characteristics.²

[...] In sessions 682–83, he stressed the nature of his CU’s, or units of consciousness. [...]

[...] The emphasis is more definitely on content, the stress on the written rather than the spoken word.

[...] It was on normal typing paper and requested, first, some further work on the book — either an outline of a projected book to include portions of the dream manuscript, but stressing Seth, or some sample chapters — before a contract would be signed. [...]

[...] For another, Seth began to stress each word.

[...] (We still receive from 30 to 50 letters and packages a week.) After supper I wrote a version of the credo, stressing Jane’s ability to write prose and to handle the mail. [...]

[...] Daily life contained all kinds of threats for her, and she kept her nervous system in a constant state of stress. [...]

[...] In the same high voice she began stressing as separate units many of the syllables of the words she spoke. [...]

I have thus far stayed clear of many important and vital subjects, involving mass realities, because first of all the importance of the individual was to be stressed, and his power to form his private events. [...]

[...] These constructs, which are sometimes quite effortless, show how I began to express my longing for my wife very creatively even during a time of great stress. [...]

[...] Not only does Seth stress the constant psychic motion of reincarnational and counterpart selves upon this earth we know—but he also tells us that each of those selves can move into other or parallel realities. [...]

[...] Of course, what I’m really stressing here is living the independent life as much as possible within our ever-more-complicated national and world cultures. [...]

[...] In the second one he stressed that although Jane was still afraid of spontaneous bodily relaxation, “[Ruburt] is safe, supported and protected—that is, of course, the message that he is trying to get through his head at this time.” [...]

I add that none of those books stress reincarnation, or any claims that Jane or I (or both of us) had or have psychic relationships with any one of that celebrated trio. [...]

[...] The points I stressed to the group mainly concerned my basically unconventional interests. [...]
