(A note: I must write that not only was I surprised that Seth opened the session with an analysis of the dream, but that I was even more surprised with the generous connotations he ascribed to it: I may love my fellow man, but often times feel that that feeling is compromised by events in our world, even though I fully acknowledge my own part in helping create that world in the most intimate detail. (I hadn’t finished typing the 635th session by tonight, so I read Jane the last page or so of Chapter Eight and the beginning of Chapter Nine from my notes. [...] This same intentness has shown up in her sessions and Sumari for ESP class — and it has been very evident in her poetry.

We have mentioned reincarnation hardly at all (but see the 631st session in Chapter Seven), yet here let me state that the theory is a conscious-mind interpretation in linear terms. [...] But in the terms used there is no karma to be paid off as punishment unless you believe that there are crimes for which you must pay (as indicated in the 614th session in Chapter Two).

Particular suggestions given in a group of closely allied sessions for him are geared to his condition at that time, and to the circumstances. Earlier I compared your thoughts to viruses (in the last session). [...]

(When she read the first page of this session after I’d typed it, Jane said, “It looks like I distorted that bit about atoms ‘dying.’ I don’t think it should be put that way, I guess. [...]

(We’ve been especially interested in such material since Seth referred to the “deaths” of atoms and molecules in the 625th session in Chapter Five, but we haven’t asked for more detail because the subject matter is somewhat outside the scope of this book. [...]

[...] After the excellent session on Wednesday, February 16, we hoped for good improvements in Jane. [...] I arose with several questions that I wanted answered in a session tonight; the trouble with steps, why she took a turn for the worse after the tour for The Seth Material, etc.?

[...] She had experienced similar feelings some other times here in the past week, particularly after the last session, and made an effort to discharge them reasonably by talking. [...] I asked Jane, rather impatiently at last if she could discharge the feelings in a session, as we had planned.

[...] After the nap, I suggested we might stay here the next week, to work, have a couple of sessions, etc., and Jane agreed.

You two more or less made me a promise that Ruburt would begin working sensibly on his book again (after last session), and instead you took a trip. [...]

(I’ve finished typing the sessions for Monday and Tuesday evenings, and Jane has read and reread them. So have I. She was much affected by my note on page 156 of last night’s session, just as I was while writing it. [...]

(Tonight we were not sure what Seth would discuss, so just before the session I asked that he talk about the seance held last week, representing the 435th session. [...]

[...] This proved to be the end of the session, although this wasn’t determined until sometime later. [...]

(This evening, while this session was being held, Callista was in the cellar of her home, reading or looking through books she took from a stack of same. [...]

SESSION 436

The sessions had begun on December 2,1963. [...] If it wasn’t a session night, after dinner and an hour’s poetry, we tried other experiments. Rob spent a good deal of time typing the sessions, as he still does. [...]

This session actually lasted from 9:00 P.M. until midnight, so only excerpts have been given here. [...] But at the time of this session, he told us all we could understand, while he began slowly to build up the necessary background and concepts.

Seth did mention Rob’s vision in the next (thirteenth) session on January 6, 1964. [...]

SESSION 869 (DELETED PORTION)

Whole blocks of sessions deal with the methods used and the conditions that can be met in projections of consciousness from the dream state. [...] I’ve often awakened, fully alert, in the middle of the night, suddenly conscious that I’ve been giving a kind of Seth session. [...] On two occasions I heard enough to know what was being said and to whom the sessions were directed. [...]

We asked about the dream in the next Seth session. [...] He had given us some information about this life in previous sessions, and now he told me that I wouldn’t again die of cancer (a mistake in tactics on his part, since he had long ago told me to give up cigarettes, and I haven’t complied. [...]

Early in our sessions, Seth said that he once had a Turkish existence, but we have no information on one for us. [...] When Seth is involved with a block of sessions on one subject, we hate to upset the continuity of the material by asking him to go into something else, and besides, we’ve learned that Seth eventually answers as many of our questions as possible.

The next night we had our regular Wednesday night Seth session. [...]
