(Since giving the 848th session for Mass Events, on April 11, Seth has devoted three sessions to personal affairs that Jane and I have let go for a long time. Then he gave over last Monday night’s “regular” 849th session to subjects he’s not dealing with in this book.

[...] He felt the impulse to do the floors with your sweeper (while I was mowing grass) and because of our Saturday session he ignored the arm difficulty enough to do the kitchen. [...]

These are only a few excerpts from that first session with Seth. (A few weeks later, though, Rob had some more difficulty with his back and went to a chiropractor who told him that his first vertebra was out of alignment.) The session lasted until after midnight, and after that we sat up talking about it.
[...] While this was already our fourth session at the board, it was really our first Seth session.
The circumstances leading up to the Seth sessions still surprise me. [...]
[...] Nothing in my background prepared me for the astonishing evening of September 9, 1963, yet it was this event, I’m sure, that initiated the sessions and my introduction to Seth.
(I read my paper quoted just above to Jane as we sat for the session. I asked that Seth comment, but also said I didn’t want him devoting the whole session to my challenges, since I know Jane wants book material also.)
