(The second game of the World Series started at 8:30 — I think — tonight, although I hardly glanced at it on television as we made ready for the session; the set went off after the first [scoreless] inning anyhow. [...]

(I’d just finished typing the last few pages for Monday night’s session, and I asked Jane what she thought of my final note: I’d speculated about any reincarnational connections that might tie her abilities to speak for Seth, without help of any modern kind, to the abilities ancient man had displayed, when, according to Seth, he’d been able to carry all of his history with him mentally. [...]

[...] In a way quite impossible to describe, it would be true to say that our sessions actually translate multidimensional images into words. [...]

(Jane and I sat for the session as usual on Monday, May 5, but it was not held. Jane at session time was in an extremely relaxed state, and she could not bring Seth through, although we waited until 10 PM.

[...] This was the end of the session. I was not happy, one thing led to another, and we did not resume the session.)

[...] While sitting in the usual rocking chair she uses during sessions, Jane said that at times she felt as though she were outside the house, enjoying the spring air, grass, flowers, etc. [...]

(The session on Wednesday was held as usual, and of course we asked Seth for an explanation of Monday’s events.)

(Seth’s statement at the end of dictation for the 815th session, “I will try to begin work on our book in a more predictable fashion,” reflected his good intent, but things didn’t turn out that way. Jane and I let the holiday season intervene to some extent, and Session 816, which came through the day after Christmas, didn’t concern book work at all. Then, starting in early January, we held eight sessions having to do with questions we’d put off dealing with for a long time; some were personal and some were not. We stayed with our Monday–Saturday evening session routine, though, and kept busy with all of our other projects.¹

(We also experienced a very cold wintry month indeed, including a series of massive snowstorms within the week just ended — “the worst in over a decade,” as I wrote in a note for last Saturday night’s private session.)

You have by now become acquainted with a self you did not know before our sessions, a self who keeps watch upon both the ego and the subconscious. [...]

We will have a relatively brief session this evening, for I would hesitate to disrupt what our friend anticipated to be a purely social occasion.

[...] Don and his wife Marilyn were due to witness the 248th session on April 4, but last-minute developments prevented them doing so. Don left the sealed envelope he had prepared for the session with me, however; I kept it until the Wilburs were able to witness a session. [...]

[...] After the session tonight Jane confirmed she had forgotten that I had the envelope. Even when the Wilburs arrived for the session tonight, Jane did not remember it.

(Ann Diebler also witnessed the session, for a total of three witnesses. The three have heard Seth speak before on a few informal occasions; this was their first regular session. [...]

(Our visitors did not know of the sessions. [...]

[...] Jane said that at times she is still afraid she’ll give contradictory information involving past sessions—wrong dates, etc. [...] I don’t want to get all mixed up; so I hardly ever read the material between sessions.”

[...] We talked about having witnesses to these sessions occasionally. We also discussed my idea, mentioned some days ago, that in the beginning of these sessions we [...]

[...] In any case I believe we will close tonight’s session. [...] However I do not feel it would be a good idea so late in the session. [...]

[...] When this session began I had the drawing propped up on the bookcase so Jane could see it easily as she paced back and forth.

[...] Rob was afraid that I’d feel under pressure, knowing that they were driving such a long way and back the same night for a session. [...] Then to top it off, at about eight Phil dropped in, explaining that he was in town for the night and would like to attend a session!

[...] I was so pleased to be able to help Ann and Jim; and that session and others like it have helped me also by showing me the value of ideas that originally I could not accept. The same thing applies to Seth: I am literally amazed at his capacity to help others, at his psychological understanding, at all the abilities he draws upon and focuses in our sessions.

Over a period of two years we’ve had several sessions for Jon and Sally. In that first session, though, Seth gave some excellent advice that is helpful to anyone whenever illness strikes. [...]

The second session for Jon was entirely devoted to reincarnational influences, and it is an excellent example of the way these can affect health patterns. The session also contains some general advice and answers some specific questions applying to the relationship between past lives and present health.

(“Well, I think it’s going to be a short session,” she finally laughed. [...] But the session hardly proved to be a short one. [...]

(Seth postponed ending the session to make some comments on Jane’s changing attitudes toward her physical environment, added a few remarks about the drawings I’m doing for Dialogues, then, in excellent humor, closed out the session at 12:01 A.M. Jane said her trance had been considerably deeper after break; certainly her delivery had been infused with more energy. [...]

2. In Chapter 5 of Personal Reality, sessions 623–25 all contain Seth material on inner sound, light, and electromagnetic structures of the body that ordinarily we do not perceive. From the 624th session, for example: “I told you that thoughts are translated into this inner sound, but thoughts always attempt to materialize themselves also. [...]

(Seth’s remarks about inner sounds were quite interesting in view of an episode that had taken place 10 minutes or so before the session started. [...]

Our sessions involve projection, although the extent varies. [...]

[...] After I’d finished the session, especially the last portion and my notes about my own reactions, which upset Jane, she told me that yesterday she’d actually been very blue the last hour I was there. [...] I said I’d expressed myself plainly in the session yesterday so she’d know how I felt.

[...] As soon as Seth began talking about probabilities, I knew he was extending his material that he began in the session for December 21, in which he stated that unchosen probabilities may be quite changed by those chosen for activation. [...]

(After the session Jane asked me what country ancient Persia was now. [...]

(Our landlord and his wife, James and Marian Spaziani, were scheduled to attend tonight’s session, and to arrive by 8:30. The Spazianis have known about the Seth material from the beginning, and have read some of the earlier sessions; indeed, it was Jane’s borrowing Jim’s Ouija board in November 1963, that led to the flow of the Seth material.

(Thinking the session now over, I then brought up the thought that I suspected a distortion in Seth’s interpretation of the first dream, where he stated that before being born I saw my brother Loren as a woman. I thought I recalled Seth stating many sessions ago that Loren had been three times a man, but never a woman, and had a woman’s life ahead of him.

(In spite of the fact that we are all good friends, Jane grew somewhat nervous as the day wore on, because the Spazianis had never witnessed a session, although both of them are interested in ESP, and Jim has read a great many books on the subject.

[...] Jane then expressed a desire to obtain in the future as firm a commitment from witnesses as possible, well in advance of the session in question. [...]

(I described Jane’s very relaxed states today in the notes for the regular, 856th session, from which the material to follow is taken. [...]

[...] As Seth remarked in a recent session, the relaxed muscle is able to do far more than the tense one, or words to that effect.
