[...] But for quite a while it will not involve missing sessions but shortening them. [...] I had intended giving you a week off after your first thirty sessions. [...]
If your prefer we will end the session. [...] And may I congratulate you in a backhanded fashion for having a full session this evening. [...]
[...] No sooner had the session ended than I noticed that my hands felt “fat.” [...] I found myself rubbing my hands together, subjectively aware of a swollen feeling in them as we talked after the session. [...]
[...] Jane was so enthusiastic over this idea that she forgot to be nervous before the session began.
(The day before the 724th session was held on December 4, I had another experience involving internal perceptions of myself as a Roman soldier in the first century A.D. As far as I can tell, however, this latest episode was not a continuation of my three visions of last October, in which I saw the end of my life while I was an officer in the armed forces of Imperial Rome1 — yet this time also I confronted circumstances surrounding my own death. The little adventure certainly fits in with Seth’s idea of counterparts, as he introduced it in the 721st session, but it raises a number of questions, too. [...]
[...] It will help the reader to refer back to the 724th session itself in order to correlate Seth’s material given there with this class session, and with other data on reincarnation and counterparts.
[...] Not as convenient as it sounds, however: The next scheduled session may lie several days ahead; book dictation always comes first when Seth does speak, and at session’s end it may be too late for “extra” questions, or we may be tired; even though any given event is interesting, it can easily be pushed out of immediate awareness by succeeding ones that are equally intriguing. [...]
12. For some material on Sue Watkins in Volume 1 of “Unknown” Reality, see the opening notes for Session 692, along with Note 2 for that session.
[...] From the very beginning of the sessions, in late 1963, I appreciated the speed with which Jane delivered the Seth material, and began recording the times involved throughout each session. [...] It was most definitely faster—sometimes spectacularly so—during all of those years she gave sessions in ESP class.
[...] It’s of one of my imaginary male heads, and I began it a week ago, following Seth’s material on art for me in the private session for April 9. [See Note 1 for the last session.] I explained to Jane that even while it’s incomplete, the painting contains improvements that I can already tell will be developed further in the next one. [...]
Without being specific before the session, Jane said she felt “lots of stuff from Seth churning around.” Even though Monday’s session had been for Dreams, she was still nervous about going back to the book after being away from it for well over a month before that—yet she was ready to go.)
End of session.
4. For a little material on Jane’s family background, see Note 4 for the 679th session, as well as the first delivery of the session itself.
(“Well,” Jane said, indicating two points in front of her as we sat waiting for the session to begin, “there’s book stuff there [to the left], and stuff on me there [to the right]. [...]
(Jane’s delivery was rather slow as the session started.)
The relatively insignificant example of probable events and their interaction just given (in the last session) provides a few important clues to the nature of probabilities in general. [...]
(Although Seth didn’t call this session book dictation, Jane and I decided to show portions of it in Mass Events for two reasons: 1. The material in Note 1 can be taken as an extension of the discussion on reasoning and the intuitions that Seth gave in the 825th session. 2. We want to offer his comments on Jonestown and Three Mile Island in the order received, even if they don’t always come through within the context of “official” book sessions. [...]
3. “After last night’s (845th) session,” Jane wrote, “I watched television while Rob went for a walk. As I sat there I started to get more from Seth on one of the subjects mentioned in the session. [...]
(Seth actually delivered the material in Note 1 at the beginning of tonight’s session. [...]
[...] [See my comments on this double polarity in the opening notes for yesterday’s session.])
(In line with a policy of trying to keep abreast of topics brought up during sessions, I mentioned to Jane this evening that I would like more data from Van Elver via the “sepia” discussion, begun in the 424th session; and some data about Jane’s impressions concerning the dream book when it was at Parker. See The Early Sessions, Volume 8, pages 329-330, June 29, 1968.
[...] I suspected her sensitivity to heat and humidity might have contributed to the trance depth; before the session she hadn’t felt very active, but still wanted to hold the session.
(Jane said she would like some data on the personality Ignaptha, mentioned by Seth during the session held for Gene Bernard a couple of years ago.
[...] After she hung up Jane told me that before the session she’d had the feeling we would be interrupted in some way— probably through a visitor; but she hadn’t told me beforehand.
(Afterwards we talked over Jane’s recent idea — to holding, say, a session per day for six consecutive days, to see how much Seth would get done on the book in such an arbitrary period. [...] See the notes for the 10:31 break in the 519th session, and Seth’s subsequent remarks. Jane stopped looking at the book in the 521st session for March 30; it’s now July 1.)
[...] Finally it began to rain hard, with thunder and lightning, at about 9. We wondered whether a session would be held, since Seth had told us some time ago that electrical displays interfered with trance states. Yet the session began as usual; Seth, at least, was apparently not bothered.)
(At the end of the last session, which was held the day before yesterday, Jane told me that Seth had the rest of Chapter Ten planned; tonight, now, she said she didn’t have the slightest idea of how Seth would continue his work on the chapter.
[...] We sat for the session just in case. No session was held last Monday because it had been equally hot. [...]
(At 8:59 Jane said, “It’ll take a few minutes, but I can tell, it’s going to be all right,” meaning a session would be held. [...] Jane sat quite still for some few moments; when I noticed her seeming to grope for words, soundlessly moving her lips, I felt Seth’s entity would give the session. [...]
(Jane thought Seth would speak if a session were held, but this did not prove to be the case. [...]
(This material is from the 806th session for July 30, 1977, and should be read in conjunction with the regular part of the session. [...] See the reincarnation material as related to regular session for this date.
(Before tonight’s session Jane said that she’d like Seth to continue his comments on her general situation, although neither of us had specific questions.
Very briefly: (John) Fuller (see session 808 re John Fuller notes) is by turns overly credulous and overly critical. [...]
All of this affected the sessions, and your reactions to the entire experience. [...] In the last months you have not had sessions. [...]
He felt much time wasted, but held off, seeing if an absence from sessions would help his health. [...] Ruburt knew this but would no longer give sessions because he felt forced to.
(My five-minute sketch of Nebene as I behan proofreading the session of July 17, 1972 for publication 31 years later.)
(I studied this session to better grasp my Nebene characteristics then [and now] by painting his image, and then drawing him again, but now I’m appalled by my behavior in first-century Rome. [...]
(Last Monday evening Seth gave a very short private session for Jane; it turned out to consist of just one page of double-spaced typewritten information. During the session Seth said that he was “preparing some special material for Ruburt,” but except for the excellent relaxation effects Jane has experienced since then, we have yet to learn what else may be involved.
In the 591st session for Seth Speaks, I noted claims for an earlier date for the origin of the first Gospel, that according to Mark; nevertheless, most authorities still believe that the Gospels were written between A.D. 65 and 110. [...] Sometimes Christ appeared as an apparition — but as Seth commented in a private session: “You could not have a world in which the newly risen dead mixed with the living. [...]
I’d say that in this 829th session Seth spoke out of a knowledge of biblical tradition and history; that is, he wasn’t saying that Christ did rise from the dead or ascend into heaven, but referring to Christianity’s interpretation of its own creative Christ story. Seth has always maintained that Christ wasn’t crucified to begin with — indeed, he told us in the same private session that “…in the facts of history, there was no crucifixion, resurrection, or ascension. [...]
(Even while immersed in her most enjoyable state, Jane still wanted to hold the session. [...]
(After another good lunch she started reading yesterday’s session at 3:15. [...] I did read the Seth session portion to her. [...]
[...] A short but quite energetic session. “Gee, that was some workout, I’ll tell you,” Jane said, referring to her exercises preceding the session, and now her left leg went back and forth rapidly, then her head and shoulders lifted repeatedly. [...]
(A minute later she abruptly began the session as I did mail.)
DELETED SESSION
(Ordinarily this session would have been held yesterday, but Jane wanted to try it on a Thursday for variety. Before the session she said, “I still get stage fright when I think of Seth doing this book on his own.” And when the session began, Seth did at once resume work on “his” book.)
Some of my energy is also projected through Ruburt, and his energy and mine both activate his physical form during our sessions, and now as I speak these sentences. [...]
[...] But overall Jane’s pace was faster and more confident than in the first two sessions dealing with Seth’s book. [...]
SESSION 513, FEBRUARY 5, 1970,
9:10 P.M. THURSDAY
[...] She started reading the key session for February 1. Again she did well. [...] Jane spent a lot of time waiting for people to do her vitals, then finally decided on a session.)
(Today is Day 3 of Jane’s new routine, following the session on February 1. She said she catches herself all the time getting off the track, then tries to remind herself of her new healthier goals — living in the moment, thinking positively, and so on.
(4:30 p.m. I hadn’t expected the quick ending to the session, since I’d thought there were some rather important topics Jane could have discussed, such as the reasons for the temperature increase. [...]
[...] I would like to ask Seth about it, at this evening’s session, this being a Monday.
(My back was beginning to bother me this morning, at around 11:00, so I sat in my chair, in the studio, and closing my eyes began to use the induction technique that Jane had used on me in our previous sessions. [...]
[...] I kept my eyes closed from the start, but midway in the session felt that I could not have opened them, at least very easily [re Jane’s suggestions when she is putting me under].
(Our 26th session, due Monday, February 17, 1964, was not held for two reasons.
