SESSION 831 (DELETED PORTION)

You may take your break or end the session. Our sessions will deal with the subject matter I have outlined. There will always be room for any questions at the end of the session, to be used also for personal remarks I feel helpful.

[...] The coming sessions will of necessity involve us thoroughly in the nature of human personality in its psychic electromagnetic properties. [...] I am more solidly here in our sessions now (smile, eyes open) than I was permitted to be in the past. [...]

I want to begin a series of sessions dealing in rather practical terms with those events that follow immediately after physical death.

[...] This permits us to use more energy for our purposes in our sessions.

(Bill and Peggy Gallagher were witnesses to the session. [...] For much of the session she sat on the edge of her chair, leaning forward with her hands clasped together. [...]

[...] You wanted the session to go more clearly in that direction, and he wondered if he had been blocking.

(No rebuke was intended upon my part, to Jane, when I asked her, during a break in the 618th session, if she was going to give Dick more specific reincarnational data. [...]

(We gave up our regularly scheduled sessions last week, and spent a great deal of time correcting the proofs for Volume 1 of “Unknown.”³ In fact, I didn’t finish my part of the job until midnight Sunday; then early this morning I mailed the whole thing to Tam Mossman, Jane’s editor at Prentice-Hall. By now both of us were bleary from all of those days and nights of concentrated labor, but still we wanted to hold the session. [...] I felt a familiar sense of anticipation as I thought of recording the excellent session to come. [...]

(We usually hold two “sessions,” or meetings with Seth each week, totaling three or four hours, but we think that actually Seth could talk 24 hours a day for the rest of our lives, and still not cover all of the material he’s capable of tuning in to for us. [The only trouble is that Jane and I wouldn’t last long!] That astonishing creativity and energy in the sessions beckon us on constantly, then, regardless of what we think about Seth’s “reality or nonreality,” and even regardless of what he tells us about himself.

[...] The sessions and our work can help bring about a new mental species of men and women. Ideas change the chromosomes, but the sessions and Ruburt’s books, and so forth, must first and foremost be joyful expressions of creativity, spontaneous expressions that fall into their own order…. [...]

SESSION 472

(Before the session I described to Jane my dream of Wednesday, December 6;and the second vision I had, of another painting, on the evening of Thursday November 30; the first painting vision being the one of Bill Gallagher on November 28,1967, and discussed by Seth in the 382rd session.

He did very well with his class, not only by holding our session (see the last session, Jane’s first without my presence), but by releasing and vocalizing his deep inner convictions. [...]

(Actually, the session might better be called a Jane/Seth session, in that Jane’s own consciousness was often uppermost, riding upon Seth’s underlying and steadying influence. [...] As soon as I realized that she wanted to have a session I asked her to wait until I found my pen and notebook. Then Jane proceeded to come through with much evocative material on dreams — our second reason for excerpting the session for Mass Events. Some of the more generalized material is presented below, some of the more individualized portions [which, in fact, came at the start of the session] are given in Note 2.

(The last session we presented in Mass Events, the 841st, was held on March 14. [...] She’s worked each day at her third novel on the adventures of Oversoul Seven, and has heard often from Sue Watkins about Sue’s progress with her book on Jane’s ESP class: Conversations With Seth.¹ And with all of her other activities, Jane has held four sessions since the 14th: two personal ones, and two [842–43] on matters other than book dictation.

[...] In fact, material on Three Mile Island developed in the session held this afternoon, which is the main reason we decided to give these excerpts here.

[...] “I’ve thought of it before, but finally I’m getting it through my head that the sessions are much better when I don’t have any concern — and when I feel concern, I find it harder to get into it. [...]

(Jane had a new catheter inserted this morning, by the way, and now she had some spasms and gas while reading the session. [...] I worked with some mail and Jane finished the session in quite good style at 4:16.

[...] “I knew he was going to say that about water,” Jane said, “when I wanted to hold the session. [...] I added that the session ought to be “enough incentive to tank up on the stuff.” [...]

[...] Jane began reading yesterday’s session, and did very well, considering the new teeth. [...]

(She waited to see what she’d be doing next, then told me she would have a short session, after she finished her cigarette.)

(She was still upset as session time approached, and had been unable to take her nap before the session. She wrote out a list of half a dozen questions concerning the nodule, and left it lying on the table as session time came. [...]

(It will be remembered that in the 87th session of September 14, 1964, Seth began an interpretation of Jane’s dream of September 7. The ramifications from this dream are still spreading. Seth again dealt with this dream in the 93rd session, of September 30. [...]

[...] After the session was over, I realized that I had neglected to ask Seth to specifically clear up Jane’s use of the phrase concerning her friend Marie as being involved in childbirth. I will make a point to inquire about this in the next session.)

(After this session Jane wrote to Marie in an effort to verify the above statement. [...]

[...] First she decided to see if she could have a session, then at 9:10 she decided against it. But when I said I’d return to typing Monday night’s session, in a rather humorous turnabout she decided to hold a session tonight after all. [...]

[...] For someone who hadn’t known whether they wanted a session, she’d done very well, with her delivery being often fast and emphatic. I told her that it looked as though Seth used my newspaper incident to actually summarize in capsule form much of the material he’s been giving us in this latest group of private sessions. [...]

(I intend to copy a page or two of the session to insert in my notebook containing suggestions of notes for Dreams, Seth’s latest book. [...] I also thought we should somehow keep the session in mind, and not let it get lost in the files as the years pass — one of the reasons I want to use part of it in Dreams. [...]

(Just before we sat for the session Jane finished reading my account of my “light of the universe” experience of last Sunday evening, September 21, and my account of the experience involving … clairvoyance … precognition … that I’d had at naptime today, involving my idea for a novel and an article in tonight’s Star-Gazette, Elmira’s daily newspaper. [...]

[...] As mentioned many, many sessions ago, however, her poem The Fence, written in May 1963, clearly foreshadows the Seth material, dealing with [but not always by outright name] such subjects as reincarnation, dreams, unperceived worlds, etc. [See the poem on page 28, Session 5, in Volume 1 of The Early Sessions.]

[...] She was wearing her glasses, but after the session she asked me how often she did have them on, since while delivering the material she doesn’t see anything. [...] Jane’s delivery had been quite animated giving the last few pages of the session. [...]

(While conducting these sessions, Jane and I have had remarkably few interruptions either during them or just before they were scheduled to begin. [...]

[...] In Chapter 1 of The Seth Material, Jane quoted Seth-to-be from the 4th session for December 8, 1963, as that personality came through on the Ouija board (which we’d used to initiate these sessions): “You may call me whatever you choose. [...] Reincarnation had been mentioned by the 2nd session, but since the concept meant little to us we hardly considered the many names that would be involved. [...]

(I reminded Jane that during Monday’s session, the 710th, Seth had promised to “shortly explain” her hearing his booming voice in her sleep state last Saturday night. See Jane’s description of the event preceding that session.

(12:02.) In regular sessions, as now, he and I again both make adjustments, and so in sessions I am what I call a bridge personality, composed of a composite self — Ruburt and I meeting and merging to form a personality that is not truly either of us, but a new one that exists between dimensions. [...]

(Jane also came through with material about Atlantis right after the 708th session was held, less than two weeks ago; see Appendix 14. We’d described that episode briefly in ESP class the night before this [711th] session was held — so had our doing so caused her second Atlantis pickup? [...]

[...] Jane began reading yesterday’s session, and did very well indeed to start. [...] She was interrupted by people taking her vitals — temperature 97.3. By 3:57 she went back to the session — but now her pace wasn’t as fast and sure. [...]

[...] She could hardly make out the session. [...]

[...] She resumed at 4:19, and finished the session, doing better at the end.

(4:37 p.m. I told Jane the little session was excellent, as indeed it is. [...]

[...] Jane began reading yesterday’s session, doing but a fair job. [...] She finished the session five minutes later, doing better at the end.

(4:41 p.m. Even though it’s a brief one, I think the session is a very important one. [...] I think today’s session shows that Jane has either reached that point of passionate desire, or is very close to it.

[...] Ten minutes later Jane began the session. [...]

A session, no matter how brief, does indeed help accentuate the healing processes.

[...] Jane finished reading the session, and had done quite well. [...] Jane was ready for the session early. [...]

[...] After lunch Jane began to read yesterday’s session, and did quite well. [...]

[...] Traffic noise was a bother at times — and that effect reminded me of how often such racket had been a problem when we held sessions at 458 W. Water Street.)

[...] I remind you also to read the session of the day before yesterday whenever possible.

[...] I did mail until Jane had the session. [...] Jane was coughing enough so that she remarked that she hoped she could get through the session. [...]

(4:28 p.m. “I suppose that means I’m to read you the session for February 1 again,” I said. [...] “I thought that session was the one that’s resulted in all the upsets since then,” I added. [...]

[...] My feeling is that we ought to minimize the health aspects of the sessions for a while.

(When I read this session to her, I was struck again by Seth’s use of the word “blindness,” and Jane admitted that she’d been worrying about losing her sight because of her eye difficulty. [...]

Nightly adventure: Last PM we ask German couple from Big Flats over, the woman mentioned in God of Jane, decide we should change the pace from intense sessions, etc. [...] anyhow, he did a terrific session then on the Sinful Self.... [...]

Sleep great rest of night till near morning when I believe I had a session last night for the couple who visited and I am aware of some feelings about the sessions that have angered me since the beginning. [...]
