[...] As I feared, they had come to call on the tenant who lived in the small apartment above our living room, where we were holding the session. [...] I was of course highly irritated, as I always am at such interruptions during sessions. [...]

(John witnessed the 313th session on January 18,1967. [...] John was asked to run since the 313th session, and has turned down the offer; it would involve a financial loss.

The pendulum sessions should be continued, and you will find many of the answers Ruburt seeks. [...]

The sessions imply contact with an emotional and psychological existence that has its reality outside of your physical laws. The sessions imply the possibility of breakthroughs in the most important areas of human thought. The sessions themselves are like a vehicle that comes from beyond your time, yet you sit secure in your time—well strapped in, so to speak.

[...] For my presence and the sessions both do indeed imply a promise of knowledge beyond what is generally known, and, hopefully, of wisdom beyond that which is generally possessed. The sessions also imply the promise of a contact with a larger reality than your own—one large enough to contain the world that you normally recognize.

Ruburt found our last session extremely depressing, as he saw how the two of you conspired to bring about his physical condition. [...]

(Jane called back to me that she was alright during a break, and this & my waking up served to end the session. Jane said she felt it was a good session, an unusual occasion to get some new ideas, so she went along with Seth & his entity. She also knew the whole session was being recorded.)

(The session is included in the regular series because of the voice effects; the fact that both Seth & his entity spoke; some new ideas from both entities; and because no regular session was held the next day, Wednesday, July 16.

[...] The session began late—about 11:30 PM, & lasted well over an hour.

(Very late in the evening, Carl Watkins woke me to express concern because of the length of the session tonight—at perhaps 1 AM or later. [...]

(In Session 725 Seth discussed the spiritual aspects of our biological nature, and in Note 4 for that session I presented brief excerpts from the material he’d given in ESP class the night before, on the truly limitless “ceilings to the self” or identity.

[...] He put the same idea across beautifully, of course, in Session 725 without ever using the word “shit.” [...] For many people will accept the same philosophy when expressed as it was in the 725th session, and yet be quite upset when those ideas are discussed in the vernacular, in language that certainly cannot be considered ambiguous in any fashion.)

[...] He began the session by telling the students that they also learned as they attempted to answer the questions asked by correspondents. [...]

(This session was unscheduled. [...] Alone in the kitchen after supper, she wondered about a “little” session tonight, and received this:)

[...] But Jane asked me to get pen and paper, so the session got under way in our living room. [...] During the session we observed no voice phenomena to speak of. [...]

[...] I’m amazed…” I could see that even after an hour Jane had tired somewhat, so I said good night to Seth aloud and ended the session. Jane had shown no voice or hand phenomena, nor had she any feeling of nervousness before the session began.

I am not necessarily in favor of sessions outside a regular schedule, for reasons having to do with your natures rather than mine.

[...] See the 464th session for February 10, 1969; this is the last time this entity spoke to us. Seth’s entity hasn’t spoken many times; the 464th session and earlier ones contain detailed notes as to the manner of speaking used by the entity, etc.

[...] Also, that “it was real funny that the pyramid vanished so quickly” at the end of the session. She had no warning of the quick end of the session either.)

[...] The session began with no greeting, as usual. [...]

[...] Jane said she had the usual pyramid feeling, described in detail in earlier sessions, and that as usual when break came she felt herself coming down through it.

[...] Jane began reading yesterday’s session while I got out the mail. [...] Jane finished the session at 3:02, after having done well with it.

[...] Truly, they fit in with Seth’s reference to “bungling and bureaucracy” back in the session for December 3, eight days ago. [...]

[...] I suggested she have a session, if she was going to, before the people started coming in to check her vitals. [...]

(Seth made this observation because before the session Jane had remarked that she can still get “pretty blue at times.”)

[...] As soon as I said I’d do it — the session — I got scared. [...] I wish I could yell and scream, but I can’t …” I read her the session. [...]

(When she finally asked me what I thought of the session, I had trouble expressing any hope, versus those negative feelings I’ve been aware of for so long now. I did say things like, “This morning while working on Chapter 9 for Dreams I had to reread some sessions from back in 1981 — and they’re perfect. [...]

(Anyhow, Jane seemed to feel a bit better about it, so I went along when she even talked about a session this afternoon. [...]

(Jane could still hurry things up when she wanted to — hence the early session because I was leaving later. [...]

(Our curiosity about such speculations led me to plan this appendix shortly after the 711th session was held, and I asked Jane if Seth could eventually offer some insights about the brain’s electrical reality. He finished dictating Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality in April 1975, and we finally got around to the session I wanted six and a half months later.

(Seth did give much unexpected material about the brain — and about his own reality, incidentally — but the session turned out to be so long and closely interrelated that I found it very difficult to excerpt; most of the portions I picked out were left hanging, or were too incomplete. [...] I ended up choosing the few quotations gathered together here just to indicate the direction of the information, while hoping that the entire session, with others promised on the subject by Seth, will be published some day.

(I started this appendix 13 months after the 711th session was held. [...]

[...] She felt much better than when the session began. [...] I did not catch this during the session and so did not ask about it. From material given in various sessions we think the date of Seth’s death, given as 1655, is more likely to be correct. [...] I will ask about the discrepancy in the next session.)

[...] Since a session was due tonight, Jane studied the letter in the event Seth would choose to deal with it this evening. Just before the session was due she read the three questions aloud. Jane did not feel up to par and was not particularly in the mood for a session.

I will also, though not necessarily at this session, but in this session or the next session, have some remarks concerning the man who asks for the answers.

[...] It will be remembered that Seth has discussed both of them at various times in past sessions. [...] Some predictions concerning them will be found in the 63rd session for June 17, 1964.

(At 9 PM we sat waiting to see if a session would develop. Jane wasn’t aware of anyone being present at first, but at 9:15 she got a slight impression of the cone effect, described in the last two sessions. [...]

As I told you, Seth as you know him will continue in the sessions. [...] (Long pause.) This will be a brief session, as inner adjustments are being made, and all information you require will be given to you in your time.

In the beginning of your sessions, Seth spoke about what he called the fifth dimension, and gave you an analogy meant to represent it. [...]

[...] She said she didn’t get the cone or pyramid effect after the one time noted before the session began.

(Jane and I do not usually use the recorder for sessions because it doubles the time involved in transcribing notes. [...] We have considered holding just one longer session a week, in which the recorder could be used. Jane prefers two sessions a week personally, however, and many sessions ago Seth also said he preferred more than one session a week.)

(The session was witnessed by John Bradley. John is from Williamsport, PA; he is a salesman for Searle Drug and has witnessed quiet a few sessions. [...] Jane, incidentally, felt strongly that John would witness the session, so she was not surprised when he visited us unannounced at 8:30 PM. [...]

(The session was held in our front room, and was free of interruptions or distractions. It was obvious that Jane was in a good mood before the session, and Seth reflected this. [...]

[...] The above information is correct, as John Bradley verified the day after this session. [...] He drew a map of the location of the house in relation to The Elms, however; a copy of the map is included at the end of this session, and it can be seen that the house is in the northeastern section of Elmira Heights, as well as also being northeast of Elmira, and is west of the location of The Elms.

(After a good lunch Jane tried to read yesterday’s session. [...] Then she finished the session, with but very little help from me occasionally, gotten a late start this afternoon because we watched an old movie that didn’t end until 3:15 PM. I worked on mail while it was running, but couldn’t help Jane with a session, exercises, and so forth until it was over. Then as soon as she’d finished yesterday’s session, she told me to get my pad ready. [...]

[...] I was to read the session to her later. [...]

[...] With a small inspiration, I told her that in the light of the session today she should do the same thing as far as her understanding of the roles of the conscious and unconscious minds goes. [...]

(Now I told her that re Seth’s session for me yesterday, I’d tried using his suggestions when I went to bed, and that they worked well, in that I stopped worrying about Jane. [...]

(Jane was so relaxed yesterday and last night—as she has been often lately—that we held no session. [...] She’d picked up the title as long ago as July 30, 1979—see the 869th session note. [...]

(Jane suggested having an earlier session, although I hadn’t really expected her to have one at all. My only recent concern has been that she not let the sessions go on a regular basis just because I’m working on the notes for Mass Events.

(Pause.) The two of you thought of yourselves specifically as a writer—or rather a poet—and an artist before our sessions began. [...]

[...] It seemed at different times since our sessions began that there were disruptive conflicts, for example: was Ruburt a writer or was he a psychic? [...]

(John Bradley witnessed the session. The session started late because John arrived shortly before 9 PM, and we talked for a while first.

[...] Jane found tonight’s event somewhat upsetting, making it difficult for her to continue the session in a relaxed manner. Hence the rather abrupt end to the session.)

A brief session.

You are both finally making vital strides in understanding as a result of our last sessions in particular, and on Ruburt’s part because of the changed attitudes he has allowed, and the changed physical habits: the encouragement of motion, the expanded feeling of identity, which now includes the physical body rather than trying to exclude it.

(Jane surprised me by mentioning a session at about 7:40. [...] Now she had questions, and wished we’d gone right into the session as soon as she had mentioned it. As we waited for the session to begin, I read her the first questions I’d noted down from rereading the 367th session—Seth’s first comprehensive session on her symptoms, and one that’s been referred to rather often lately. I still want to study all of those early personal sessions, but haven’t progressed far because of all the new material we’ve been getting lately. [...]

(After supper Jane offered to have a session for me because during the day I’d had a number of recurrences of the panic feelings in my chest. [...]

(However, the feelings of unease and/or panic returned after supper, and Jane offered the session. [...]

When I said it was not rational (in the 367th session), I spoke relatively speaking. [...]

[...] The extra session that we had was probably not too good of an idea from my standpoint, although for various reasons I did want to call it. However, it is not my intention to wear you out, and when I do call an unscheduled session for any reason, then I will compensate by either making the next session shorter, or according to the length of the unscheduled session, dispense with the following one.

I suggest that we end the session. All in all, we will come out a little ahead, with this session and the unscheduled one.
