More than that, however, as far as you are both personally concerned, you have a built-in sense of distance that gives the house actually an extra dimension of privacy that is not within the grounds themselves, yet adds to that aura. [...]

[...] Ruburt’s response is very healthy for him, since it involves the acceptable use of exuberant and aggressive energy, and the sense of power in the physical realm.

Despite all of that, men and women still find the solutions to many of their problems by rediscovering the larger sense of identity¹ — a sense of identity that accepts the intuitions and the feelings, the dreams and the magic hopes as vital characteristics, not adjuncts, of personhood. I only want to show you that the sense of identity need not inevitably be coupled with the intellect exclusively. [...]

[...] The tenses are wrong, and perhaps your time sense is completely outraged. [...]

In fact, the first two statements, while making no logical sense, do indeed hint of (pause) phenomena that show time itself to be no more than a creative construct. [...]

The shoot does not simply react to the direction from which the sun shines, but senses this far before, and the seed sensitizes itself “ahead of time” to those conditions. [...]

[...] After 10:19: “To the extent that you are open and receptive, you can benefit greatly by the various experiences of your probable selves … often what seems to you to be an inspiration is a thought experienced but not actualized on the part of another self … Ideas that you have entertained and not used may be picked up in this same manner by other probable you’s. Each of these probable selves considers itself the real you, of course, and to any one of them you would be the probable self; but through the inner senses each of you are aware of your part in this gestalt.”

Afterward, however, Ruburt does sense certain releases. [...]

[...] He senses that vital energy, and responds to it.

“As his abilities grew, however, of course he sensed the outlines of other realities, the glimmerings of other worlds. He sensed these cousins of consciousness in one way or another—these environments that seemed real but not real, these further extensions of possible experience—and he decided that he must be very cautious: He must be prudent (long pause), he must take his time, he must range but carefully—and certainly to some extent such feelings cut down upon his spontaneity.

To me, Jane’s sensing of those “cousins of consciousness,” those “friendly colleagues,” and her very cautious reactions to her inner knowing, are clear signs of the consistency of her beliefs and her work through the years. [...]

We will, indeed, return to our discussion of the inner senses. [...]

[...] It originates instead in the energy of the entity and inner self, and is directed by means of the inner senses, outward so to speak, through the deeper layers of the individual subconscious mind, then through the outer or personal layers.

[...] Your inner sense of identity, and Ruburt’s, is strong. [...]

[...] Using this room increases our sense of privacy, being sheltered from most noise as it is, and the risk of interruptions. [...]

[...] It involved, Jane said, some kind of inner comprehension that she was learning something in a new way, as though some kind of undifferentiated sense was operating and soaking up information. [...]

[...] Even then, without knowing all the facts surrounding the personality, you could make no judgment, for the illness could still serve by giving the personality a sense of security, being kept on hand, so to speak, as an ever-present emergency device in case the new unifying principle should fail.
