(She has no sense of time on her plane, but was too inarticulate to explain to us what she meant. She has no sense of light and dark. [...]

[...] Other fields exist that you do not perceive with your physical senses. Ruburt was not perceiving with his own physical senses, nor was he asleep.

[...] Ordinarily he pays no attention to the sessions, after his early displays when the sessions first began; at that time, according to Seth, he sensed Seth’s presence and reacted strongly. [...]

[...] Had conditions been better it is possible that they would have sensed you more directly, or even formed a telepathic image of you, as you formed one of them.

In that sense Jane’s whole self or entity accepts her actions completely, as part of the learning processes available to “it” through her individuality—nor do I mean it does so in any passive or remote sense at all, but in the most intimate, sensitive terms possible, and also, probably, in ways we cannot appreciate now. [...]

[...] Eventually nothing made sense to me otherwise. [...]

[...] Yet I like lines like: “Let the dirge be heard, sweeping all things before it,” and: “I’ve developed a sense of death, when someone takes a few steps off the known path almost unknowing,” and: “I breathed in the public air and it became private.” [...]

Obviously, Jane’s deliberations over whether to continue physical life are much easier to appreciate when she’s depressed and/or physically uncomfortable, and during those times I can sense the fluctuations in her examination of her psyche. [...]

[...] In this session Seth talked of having us try various experiments involving the use of the inner senses; tonight’s session was of course in the nature of an experiment. [...]

[...] The pauses interrupted the sense of the material to some degree. [...]

(December 29, Tuesday, 11:30 AM: Achieved a terrific sense of well-being, of suspension and lightness. [...]

[...] The inner ego receives messages through the inner senses, and is aware of realities which the outer ego cannot afford to recognize because of its specialization. [...]

[...] Linda and Betts could have been arguing [although this is unlikely; as far as I know Linda is away at school.] All of this was a mental impression, more of a jumbled sense of sound and emotional clutter, with but vague images. [...]

(Right after this I felt a most odd sensation, one I can describe only as a definite, strong cluttering motion, jumbled, inside my head; like angry or upset symbols not translated into specific information, with a sense of sound in it. [...]

Ruburt found great comfort in the church as a young person, for if it created within its members the image of a Sinful Self, it also of course provided a steady system of treatment—a series of rituals that gave the individual some sense of hope the Sinful Self could be redeemed, as in most of Christianity’s framework through adherence to certain segments of Christian dogma. [...]

At the time the sessions began (pause), the world was beginning to seem senseless, truly incomprehensible, to anyone who held any sense of poetry or sanity. [...]

[...] It would make a lot of sense, I said, if it were true, and would account for things like an obsession with work, giving up other life activities, etc.—all done in a disguised attempt to appease that Sinful Self that merrily carried on year after year.... [...]

[...] I did not want to impede your progress or hurt your sense of confidence. [...]

[...] There was an affinity to begin with, but Ruburt simply could not reach far enough, or within and through the inner senses enough, to contact me directly; and there are what you may call for simplicity’s sake, conventions of conduct which I would not break.

During fall and the winter we will continue long sessions on the inner senses, the nature of matter, time, and also discuss other means by which you may personally experiment.

[...] Such actions simply bring to a sense level your inner intentions, and serve to reinforce them through the physical actions involved.

[...] Ruburt should brush his animals; all of this for its symbolic meaning, but symbolism reinforced on the sense data level.

He feels, actually, an overly severe sense of responsibility to support himself, and not be as his mother was, a financial burden. [...]

[...] Some of this is most difficult to explain in any terms that will make sense, because the entire belief system of your times bears physical evidence of course, that such inoculations work.

[...] And yet the body knows that all-in-all, ideally, it does not make sense to inflict even a minute infection or illness upon the body, to introduce foreign elements that have not naturally been accepted by the body in its own context. [...]

[...] The feeling is much like that she experienced following our first suggestion period, she added, where my suggestions produced a different, better sense of bodily weight, even in the soles of her feet. [...]

[...] If you concentrate upon your daily, natural prime events, you will not live under a constant sense of threat. [...]

[...] Ruburt was working beyond such authority, and yet his own sense of safety and value had not grown sufficiently so that he could depend upon his own newer beliefs, either. [...]

[...] In a way, Prentice had the good sense to leave you alone. [...]

I believe the feeling had to do with the fear there was an overreliance upon structure, in this case, that could impede the sense of motion; that a particular piece of fruit (pause), seemed so perfect in structure that it somehow seemed to be frozen within it, and could not roll. [...]

It is a fluid (pause), mobile expression of the vitality that you sensed. [...]

(This above data is excellent on Seth’s part, full of evocative ideas and intuitive good sense. [...]

[...] He felt a sense of accomplishment, and some delight with himself when he walked to the end of the room and back without needing the chair. [...]

[...] Allow it a sense of accomplishment as it progresses. [...]

[...] I said this before, and you have never really followed through, but if Ruburt would note down whatever feelings of release he has, or whatever improvements he senses, and if you would both recognize those as accomplishments, they would greatly improve in number and quality. [...]

6. By the time the 22nd session was held Seth had mentioned the inner senses upon occasion, but had given us a breakdown on just the first one: Inner Vibrational Touch. Consciously, then, we had no way of appreciating what important and interesting parts those “senses leading to an inner reality” were to play in the material over the years. In Chapter 19 of The Seth Material Jane quoted Seth on the nine inner senses he’s described so far.

[...] I want the passages chosen to make sense on their own, out of context, and to focus clearly on the subject; at the same time, I don’t want to include too many or too few of my own notes. [...]

[...] And also because of that sense of removal, Seth Two¹ is hardly mentioned at all.

(Sessions 12 through 15 are briefly quoted in Note 4 for the 680th session, in Volume 1; Seth remarked upon the impossibility of closed systems, his own senses [including something of their limits], his ability to visit other “planes” of reality, and his “incipient” man’s form.

[...] This is the cause of Ruburt’s sense of disorientation.

Ruburt’s sense of disorientation is also partially the result of healing processes within his own body, and altering relationships—again, at intimate microscopic levels—which send their new “healing tremors” upward through the various formations of matter, so tell him to enjoy it.

[...] The individual had lost a sense of the reality and meaning and purpose of his own identity. [...]

Now, you did have a positive effect on those individuals so there is no reason to blame yourself, but you were meant to witness what happened to them and to see for yourself where the utter sense of purposelessness can lead. [...]

(To me:) There are several intuitive developments regarding your work that are already in the making, and will bring you great pleasure and a sense of accomplishment. [...]

[...] It will increase your sense of privacy, hence minimizing feelings of resentment toward this place. [...]

[...] Man would not be able to recall past acts, judge them against the present situation, or imagine the future sense of guilt that might result.

[...] Instead a distorted version of instinct results, along with a bastard use of sense as the species tries desperately to regulate its course.

[...] Using the physical senses alone, it is almost literally impossible for you to perceive reality in any other manner.

[...] The inner senses are not bound by those root assumptions however. [...]

The inner senses alone are equipped and able to process and perceive other reality systems. [...]

[...] Development of the inner senses is a much more effective method of perceiving other realities, and followed correctly, the ego is not only stronger but more flexible, and consciousness even of physical reality is increased. [...]

There is not the big swing now between depression and elation, but a steady growing sense of peace, and easy freedom. [...]
