(First we concentrated on trying to move a small brass ring lying on the table between us, without success. At times the moving shadows gave us the illusion that the ring did move. [...]

[...] At the start of the session Jane removed her rings because they had become uncomfortably tight in the previous two. Inadvertently slipping a ring back on during a break, she had great difficulty getting it off. [...]

[...] It was here that Jane, remarking about her fat hands, worked her ring back on. [...]

[...] This morning the ringing telephone got me out of bed at 5:45 a.m. It couldn’t be anyone except someone at the hospital, I thought as I ran out of the bedroom. [...]

[...] The vitality that rings, however distorted, through this voice rings through your own molecules and through the tip of your ear and through your (word lost).  This energy is a part of you that you have denied. [...]

Time, in your terms then, is spinning newly backward as surely as it is spinning newly (the telephone began to ring) — ignore it — into the future. [...]

(Jane had no voice phenomena this session, nor any changes in her hands; the same rings she was so troubled by last session bothered her not at all this time. [...]
