(Jane’s Tuesday paper on her feelings is evidently a very important one, representing some excellent insights on her part about her repressed impulses, her fears about my reactions to various events, her private nature and public appearances, and related topics. [...]

(“It should go without saying that impulses are the basis upon which life rides —and that they represent the overall motivating life force.”

[...] I have never wanted to dwell negatively on what might have happened in terms of probabilities, and have mentioned it very briefly only—but Ruburt’s psychic initiation, and your own, represented a breakthrough of the most important kind in this life, and automatically shunted aside, for good, many other serious difficulties that otherwise could have occurred.

[...] As natives do a dance to induce rain, with often excellent results, so Ruburt’s poem represents the same sort of incantation.

The act of writing the poem at this time, regardless of the poem’s message, you see, represents a willingness to allow the spontaneous self expression. [...]

The father’s body was also a vehicle in bringing you and your brothers into physical existence, and the dream represented several things. On the one hand it represented a quite natural subconscious fear that when the father-creator (hyphenated) vanished, his issue would go along with him. [...]

The father, your father, represents to him, Ruburt, the helpless portions of his own mother, directed so to speak where he can see them. Your mother represents to him the destructive, unreasoning energies of his own mother, and in the pull and conflict between your mother and father, he sees the tortured connections of his mother’s soul.

[...] In his subconscious your father and mother become two aspects both representing his own mother. [...]

Now: Ruburt’s sensing of the channels does represent a development and has been possible for some time; but it is only now entering his experience. [...]

[...] It was made up of a group of energies that could represent a personality like Seth, she said, yet it was nameless. [...]

[...] Take the amoeba, a one-celled microscopic animal, for instance: I knew that the protoplasm in the amoeba, the essential living matter, represents the individual needing-to-go-out quality. [...]

They represent a present unique beyond telling, alive in each consciousness, more important than you recognize. [...]

[...] In them he discussed at length the “agonized search” for expression of the powers of creativity and existence, and how the beginning of that search “may have represented the birth throes of All That Is as we know it.”

[...] I also think the statement represents one way in which Jane, while speaking for Seth, interprets his reality for us in terms we can understand.

[...] If probabilities continue as they are now, there will be some considerable relationship with the group Miss Taylor represents through the years. [...]

The divorce was a distortion (pause), not of memory but of interpretation, representing a psychic separation that occurred between you, not in 1964 but later, when Ruburt became ill—and to some extent (underlined) you did hold him back, as you know from the work with the pendulum that you did. [...]

The colors, brilliant and mobile, represented the overall healthy state of his psyche. [...]

The last episode merely represented his return to physical reality. [...]

What you must understand is that the psychedelic experience represents but a glimmering of the constant state of the inner self: not constant in terms of something static, however. [...]

[...] Such illumination represents the first contact of the ego with its inner self, and is only a beginning.
