“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(This material came through after Jane and I had watched a program yesterday and today called In Search Of — old reruns featuring Leonard Nimoy. [...]

I am mentioning this material because of the program you saw today, and also because I knew of your interest.

(4:55 p.m. “I should tell you,” Jane said as I lit a smoke for her, “but as soon as that program was over, I knew he was going to mention the Abominable Snowman. [...]

Jane had a “scary” dream episode last night, one that was quite unpleasant, she said, and involved her seeing herself in different time frames and three different programs or movies on TV at the same time. [...] You have been taught not to trust that energy, however, and in one way or another your social programs and your governments themselves are based upon the proposition that man must be protected from his own nature —a nature seen as unsavory at best.

[...] Ruburt has been using television programs and such cultural data as a basis for some of his own dreams. [...]

(11:30.) Such programs do indeed pick up the generalized fears of the nation, but they also represent folk dramas — disdained by the intelligentsia — in which the common man can portray heroic capabilities, act concisely toward a desired end, and triumph.

People often program their waking memory in quite the same fashion. [...]

(After her lunch I read to Jane the same two sessions I’d read her yesterday — for February 1 and 5. I told her that my question for Seth is, why did the fever business start after her initiation of Day 1 of her new program? [...]

(I also reminded Jane that we hadn’t gotten an answer from Seth to my question about why all the fever business started right after Jane had put her Day 1, 2, 3 program into effect. [...]

(Long pause at 10:30.) There is another man who could share the program with him, the one mentioned in our earlier session (the 496th), that was thought not available. Ruburt would take the program away from Crosson quite without meaning to do so. [...]

[...] He needs it badly, and I have a note for Miss Taylor: it will hurt Jim Crosson badly if he does not have a part in the program. [...]

Ruburt will do much better on his own in a program, but should definitely not shunt Jim Crosson aside, for he is very vulnerable to slights. [...]

When you and Ruburt begin such a program as the pendulum, for example, it is valuable because of your joint initiation of it, and it served several excellent purposes. [...]

You do not seem to understand the importance of your organizations, particularly your habitual biological ones, for they dictate the ways in which you examine your reality, and they program also your biological reaction in very practical ways.

They program the interactions within the body, so that certain effects always appear inevitable, when such in basic terms is not always the case, necessarily. [...]

He has used the materials of your culture—the television programs and so forth—to excellent advantage in the dream state and otherwise, so that messages of his own psyche come through. The TV programs become like dreams, and indeed they appear rewritten in the dream state also, as the psyche seizes upon different kinds of vehicles for its own therapeutic expression. [...]

(Since Seth mentions such episodes tonight, I’ll note here also that lately Jane has had a number of dreams involving television programs that we’ve seen—shows like Dallas, TV movies, etc. [...]

[...] These beliefs program the child from infancy, of course, so that it behaves in certain fashions in adulthood. [...]

[...] I am saying here that to some extent the child in the womb is aware of the mother’s beliefs and information, and that to some extent (underlined) it is “programmed” to behave in a certain fashion, or to grow in a certain fashion as a result.

Beliefs about the infant’s sexual nature are of course a part of its advance programming. [...]

(Since she had no session from yesterday to read, Jane tried to read the session for February 1 — the one that led to her Day 1, 2, 3 program. [...]

If your individuality was programmed by your biological sex, then it would be literally impossible for you to perform any action that was not sexually programmed. [...]

[...] Those that do are the result of programming, and are not inherent — even biologically — in the species itself.

It is indeed, and to the questions that the program aroused in you. [...]

(We watched In Search Of from 2:30 to 3:00, and the program reminded me of a number of questions I’d thought of at various times. The program dealt with the atom-bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, and the after-effects, such as cancer. [...]

I simply want you to know that you are beginning well—for you are really beginning with a new resoluteness a program, a program on Ruburt’s part to trust the energy of his being, the motion, inspiration and vitality that gave him birth and continues to sustain him. [...]

[...] As we waited Jane said several times that she felt “a sense of reassurance” from Seth, that he was organizing some kind of material or program for her because of her physical situation. [...]

Our program of discussing Seth’s material, as well as our own ideas—which included our taping suggestions for Jane to listen to daily—had come out of those sessions for December 1 and 3. Obviously, we were trying to encourage Framework 2 activity.
