Last PM I remembered the following dream that is very simple but, I feel, important. I think we were on a trip to England. Anyway a group of us were to be given a pill or some such that was actually a vaccine against some disease—perhaps polio. I was talking to doctor about this; I’m not sure if the people were even being told what this was, the idea being to slip the stuff as innocuously as possible. I refused in no uncertain terms to take it and gave my objections while also objecting to the secrecy in which the project was clothed. The doctor said OK I wouldn’t have to take it of course.

[...] Types one, two and three polio vaccines are referred to on the cards, but this leaves the five to be explained. [...]

[...] The back of one of the envelope objects contains our address, 458 West Water Street, Elmira, NY, written there by me when we took Sabin Type I polio vaccine in October 1962.

[...] Seth discusses the virus episodes that I became involved in, after taking the polio vaccines, in the 243rd session. [...]

[...] We were trying to lead him to his mother, who is an invalid, to get near the polio connection, but I am afraid we did not succeed here.

(Cards given to Jane and me at the time show that we received Type I Sabin oral polio vaccine in October 1962, and Type II in November 1962. [...]

[...] When we happened to mention to my parents that we had taken it, my mother was rather emphatic in emphasizing the dangers in taking “such things; you might get polio,” etc.
