This reminds me of a poem I wrote as a freshman in college:

It may be that the frog could have learned more by exploring his own frogness, and, certainly, I felt rather superior to the frog and the nature of his search — that’s implied in the poem. [...]

2. Jane spent considerable time before my birthday (I turned 58 on June 20) preparing a sketch book of poems and colored drawings as a present for me. [...]

Now I can add that at the time Jane actually wrote two poems on dreaming; I’ve been saving the second one for use in Volume 2.

(The Mitzi episode in turn reminded me of a series of little poems Jane wrote a few years ago. [...]
