Early in September Tam mailed back to us, for our approval, the copy-edited 484-page manuscript for Mass Events. An independent reader had gone over our labors line by line, checking for everything from grammar and contradictions to philosophy, “flagging” questions for us by noting them on slips of pink paper taped to the appropriate manuscript pages. [...] While I answered mail she began reading yesterday’s session, and once again did very well, holding the pages in her left hand as usual. [...]

(As we sat waiting I read to Jane pages 4 and 5 of the private session for October 22, 1973—excellent material concerning the contrasts displayed by Jane’s parents. [...]

[...] Seth now delivered several pages of material on other subjects for Jane and me. [...]

[...] The manuscript itself consisted of approximately forty pages of scribbled notes written during the height of the experience. Later I wrote fifty more pages as I tried to recapture the feelings and insights I’d had at the time.

By now, the sessions were running from seventeen to twenty typed, double-spaced pages and they lasted anywhere from two and a half to three hours. [...]

[...] I did not really feel like taking fifteen to twenty pages of dictation from Seth; I was concerned lest I miss some of the material.

(I’ve finished typing last Monday’s session, and have 5 pages done on Tuesday’s, so were in good shape now with only Wednesday’s to do. [...]
