[...] She thought Seth would speak on time this evening, in continuing answer to my question in the 422nd session; concerning the manner in which Seth’s larger entity appreciates our time system.

We will divide our session into two parts.

[...] This is partially the result of our little conversation, of which he has the barest memory. [...]

Before our sessions began, can you imagine him asking for help from such quarters? [...]

[...] I noted that such a situation could happen again—and it did: On November 4, Iranian students assaulted our embassy compound and took 63 Americans hostage; 3 others were imprisoned at Iran’s Foreign Ministry. [...] The Moslem militants released 13 of our citizens—5 white women and 8 black men—who returned home by Thanksgiving Day, but this time they kept in bondage the remaining 53 Americans. Iran holds our entire country in contempt.

2. I see correlations between the “flat view of reality” given to us by our physical senses, as Seth maintains, and the “flat” view of the universe that cosmologists perceive when they look way out into space. In his general theory of relativity, Einstein postulated that space can curve, and this has been shown to happen near our sun. Yet when scientists examine our universe of galaxies and clusters of galaxies, they see space as essentially flat, instead of curving in upon itself as it should over those enormous distances. [...]

This may hardly be original thinking here, but these proliferations of consciousness imply some pretty fantastic abilities on the part of we humans—for such developments show that even though we live as small creatures within the incredible richness of an overall consciousness, or All That Is, still our actions can result in that great consciousness exploring new areas of itself. Quite awesome creative abilities on our part, I’d say, and ones that unknowingly we take for granted. [...]

[...] I just wish I could present those sessions here, for in them Seth gave us much valuable information—not only about ourselves [including Jane’s somewhat impaired physical condition, her “stiffness”], but about the myriad interchanges occurring constantly between our inner and outer realities, or Frameworks 1 and 2, as he calls them. [...] Because, again as simply as I can explain it, because of our natures a certain field has been set up of receptivity, and though our positions change, the quotients within it do not.

You and Ruburt have changed since our sessions began. [...]

Our contacts now are not just contacts with Robert F. Butts and Jane Roberts, and that is why I have always used your entity names. [...]

[...] Our relationship, simply in these terms, is multidimensional. [...]

However, the space between our two friends is not vacant. [...]

Now: As you know, you do not perceive the atoms and molecules that swim about the room, nor those that fill the space between our two friends, nor the forces — the field forces — that exist. [...]

[...] Pat was most anxious to get these, and found them waiting at her Boston apartment upon our arrival there. Her first question of her roommate, after showing Jane and me our room, concerned the arrival of the glasses. [...]

(Recently our friend in Boston, Pat Norelli, had visited a female medium who told her that she was under the influence of an evil eye, and would never have a happy day as long as she lived. [...]

[...] (Pause.) And for our romantic Boston friend (smile), the following: at this time you are (smile) not wasting your time with your fine gentleman friend. [...]

[...] Jane said Seth gave this bit of test data because we ourselves had had trouble making a nearby steep hill in our own car, also this month. Seth dealt with our own car troubles in the 222nd session. [...]

(The session was again held in our front room, and was not interrupted. [...]

[...] Now, for another piece to our puzzle. [...]

I will not take too much of our session up with these matters. [...]

(It was a very hot and humid evening and we held the session in our large front room, where we have a cooler. Because our windows were open traffic noise was rather bothersome to me. [...]

[...] We will indeed try our own tests on various occasions. Our results will depend to a large degree upon the development of Ruburt’s abilities, and upon his own confidence. [...]

We see that Ruburt is trying too hard outside of our sessions.

He is doing very well in our sessions. [...]

Now three weeks later we have another encounter and our poor ignorant workman falls asleep again at his chore and our good minister comes by and he looks and he sees the idle one upon the floor snoozing and he thinks, I would like to kick you in the you know where, but he thinks, oh no, I cannot think such an unChristian thought and violence is wrong, so before he even admits to himself what he feels and hiding from himself any acknowledgment of aggression. [...]

Our poor man again is aware, subconsciously of the intent, but only to some degree. Three months later you have had a really bad day and you are mad at life in general and now you come and find our poor friend upon the floor, this time, perhaps, asleep at a chore somewhat more important that you wanted done. [...]

[...] Our Lady of Florence, very nicely for each of you in class, personifies the feelings that each of you have, to whatever degree, involving your inner self. [...]

Now, our friend back here (Ned) could well appear, you see, as a UFO in another aspect of reality, and frighten the inhabitants. [...]

[...] But as far as I know, we humans are the only species that’s obsessed with ‘change’, and ‘progress’, and ‘controlling or mastering nature’; with learning about our past and with charting our future. We strive toward an impossible, or at least rosy, future in which we will have met all of our challenges, so that we’ll live in some sort of unreal wonderland on earth. [...] Perhaps we’ll spend all of our time contemplating each other!

[...] If Jane and I and our house evaporated between one day and the next, and our lot was magically transformed into its native habitat, the birds would simply switch to ‘natural’ seeds instead of consuming the sunflower seeds, millet and other grain products that our marketplace so conveniently packages for them.

“The rabbits in our neighborhood would continue to live as usual without our help, although they might miss nibbling upon the leafy vegetables in the local gardens. [...] They’d live the same as ever, since it’s illegal for us to feed them — although they do like to move down the hillside at night and sample certain shrubs we have kindly planted about our houses.

[...] Then I realized I’d goofed: Last Saturday, our local paper had carried a short article to the effect that a psychic we’d heard of had predicted recently that Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia would obtain the Democratic nomination for president, after a deadlock between Carter and Kennedy developed at the convention. [...]

[...] Our walls are white, so we could see fairly well once our eyes were adjusted.

Actually, for the first time in our lives we found ourselves experiencing events that we couldn’t explain, and doubting the obvious evidence of our senses—an uncomfortable spot for anyone. [...]

[...] Our ideas of what was possible were being turned topsy-turvy. [...] Yet we could hardly blame Seth, since the séance was our idea to begin with. [...]

[...] We did think that more than two people should be involved, though, so we decided to ask Bill Macdonell to join us, since he was the only one who knew of our experiments. [...]

(“A connection with a flower or flowers”, immediately reminded Jane of our visits to Enfield Glen, or Robert Treman State Park. [...] I remember our specifically commenting on the flowers there, on all our visits. [...]

(The envelope object for the 64th envelope experiment was a parking ticket obtained at Robert Treman State Park, near Ithaca, NY, on July 12,1966, on our recent vacation. [...]

[...] As it happens some of the envelope data arises out of our two subsequent visits. [...]

[...] Our discussion concerning the nature of matter is important here, for I explained the pulsations that occur in atoms. [...]

[...] One is to the effect that although Seth’s contact with Jane and me is his first venture into education on our plane, [which he had told us many sessions ago], he is also in contact with other groups on other planes. These other groups are not physical in our terms. Seth said that these other groups also have their wrongs, as we have ours. [...]

[...] We all clapped our hands over our ears, and Seth had mercy on us. [...]

(To begin tonight, the four of us sat at our small coffee table, holding hands. [...]

[...] We broke our handclasps and relaxed for an informal exchange that lasted until 1:23 AM, with rather frequent breaks.

As temperatures in various depths of ocean change, and as even the color of the water and of the flora and fauna change, so too in our value climate there are quality changes, and senses equipped to project and perceive the changes. [...] The inner senses inhabit directly the atmosphere of our value climate; they see through the ever-varying camouflage (physical) patterns, and the flux and flow of apparent change. To some small degree in our sessions you plunge into this ocean of value climate, and to the extent that you are able to divest yourselves of the clothes of camouflage, you can be truly aware of this climate.

[...] By plunging into our ocean of value climate you can dive beneath your camouflage system and look up to see it, relatively foundationless, floating above you, moved, formed, and directed by the shifting illusions caused by the wind of will, and the force of subconscious concentration and demand.

[...] She’d become upset as the time passed, for our conversations more and more stressed the fact, without our overtly laboring the point, that our situation is, in our minds at least, rather hopeless. [...]

[...] That is, what purposes do diseases serve in our world, since they are so prevalent, and have always been with us? [...] If we create our diseases through our thoughts and lifestyles, how about animals? [...]

If our ideas were already accepted in the world, there would be no need for our work. [...]

You are both finally making vital strides in understanding as a result of our last sessions in particular, and on Ruburt’s part because of the changed attitudes he has allowed, and the changed physical habits: the encouragement of motion, the expanded feeling of identity, which now includes the physical body rather than trying to exclude it.

There is no need, then, to be surprised if some of our ideas frighten Prentice-Hall.

Their objections should simply show you why our work is so important. [...]

[...] They and we perceive you then in our place. [...] Our perception allows us to tune into the particular fantasies that you perceive as one indivisible reality. [...]  eons ago we helped create as you are now continuing in what you might call dreams our fantasies now do create. (Seth II:) In your terms we remember our part in the creation of your universe, but you are not aware of your part in the creation of other universes into which you also peer. [...] We did (think) construct it, and we have gone our way. [...]

I want all of you in this specific case to let out with the heartiest Mu for our friend here to clear her ears. [...] Now I want this Mu also to be directed at our friend here (Sue) and let them both see that noise can be spiritual and vital and healing and alive and good. [...]

Now each of you, in your own way, hide certain groupings of feelings from yourselves so I am not necessarily directing this specifically at our friend here except that she has the trouble with the ear this evening. [...]
