[...] You have been able to reason with your subconscious, of late, and get through to it, because with the pendulum and through our sessions we have been able to unscramble the uncertain state in which it found itself. [...]

[...] “They were on the telephone—why it bothers us and why we’ve been turning it down so much lately—but he decided to let us make up our own minds about it. [...]

[...] She scored some remarkable “hits” psychically and made some errors — yet she ended up thinking that her demonstrated abilities often collided with what our society teaches us is possible in human activity. [...]

After our impromptu session the other evening, I did not know whether or not you would be waiting for me tonight, after the extra typing that was involved.

[...] She had been resting in our favorite chair, the Kennedy rocker. [...]

[...] She called to me from a car making a left turn off the Walnut Street bridge, by Water St. Jane & I were standing on the lawn by our apartment house. [...]

[...] If you trusted the characteristics of the basic natural person, you would not need such sessions as ours, generally, in the world at all—for such knowledge would be part of it and implied in its cultural organizations, and the daily habits of the people. [...]
