[...] I’m just finishing typing last Monday’s session, the first in our new series, but already I think the program has helped her.

[...] Ruburt’s creativity broke through those frameworks to provide our sessions and to release the psychic abilities that had earlier been nearly but not completely repressed. [...]

People dream of our books, for instance. [...]

[...] The feeling is much like that she experienced following our first suggestion period, she added, where my suggestions produced a different, better sense of bodily weight, even in the soles of her feet. [...]

[...] Our questions change continually in a slow rhythm, we’ve noticed, constantly evolving into what we hope are more penetrating ones as we continue to learn. [...]

That “well-balanced life” might well be considered a slow death to our risk seeker, and no moral judgment can be placed on such behavior.

[...] The dream took place at 458 because it is an offshoot of an unrealized probability that opened there on two occasions (in 1973 at our apartment at 458 West Water Street, Elmira, New York).

(11:49 P.M. By now it should be obvious that this session is an excellent example of the way Seth often winds our questions and concerns into book dictation, couching his answers so that they also fit the larger framework he has in mind. But even if our private lives do sometimes influence the way Seth delivers his material, we’ve discovered that he still pretty much covers the subject matter he wants to.)

(As I talked so easily about this, without any conscious foreknowledge or preparation, I realized I’d been mulling over our friend’s letter, and that this was the way my ideas spontaneously came out. [...]

[...] While we were talking about health in general, I wondered why so many people in our society wore glasses. [...]

Apropos of our discussion concerning time.

[...] I’ve often thought of how weak our current theories are to explain what we see around us, or in the night sky.

(Yesterday afternoon, November 28, while working in my studio in the back of our apartment, I had a vision of a painting. [...]

The room is too hot for our purposes.

[...] I will return later to the purposes of man’s conscious mind in nature, and part of that discussion will fall in our book (Dreams).

Now: Had Ruburt gone to a doctor or a faith healer when we began our last group of sessions, and then in a matter of a week or so found himself able again to walk with his [typing] table across the kitchen floor, some thirteen or fourteen steps perhaps, where before three were his uncomfortable limit, he might have attributed the improvement to a doctor’s treatment or to a faith healer’s ability — but he would have been impressed. [...]

[...] I will leave our friend more or less the way he is for a few moments.

[...] This also has to do in our own private sessions, with Ruburt’s slowness and difficulty getting out of the chair—to show you that he is paying for the success of the sessions.

(Seth’s reference to a letter to a congressman came about, I think, because during our conversation on Friday night Bill Gallagher said that no one present had done anything to protest the conditions in our world that we didn’t like—forgetting, of course, that the books themselves are full of protests, and of suggestions for the better. [...]

[...] Mitzi is our beloved cat.)

[...] Ruburt was bothered by the same feelings in reverse in the past, but he has learned to understand quite clearly that our work is a threefold venture. [...]

(Our landlord and his wife, James and Marian Spaziani, were scheduled to attend tonight’s session, and to arrive by 8:30. [...]

[...] Our method is perhaps the best one. [...]

In the interpretation of your dreams then Joseph, as with Ruburt’s, we must change our focus, for what appears as a logical interpretation through conscious examination is often distorted.

You will see from our previous discussion that such a state is by far the most beneficial if a faithful interpretation is to be received. [...]

(Seth then returned to say something about a summer [which year?] when our tactics resulted in Jane’s improvement.)

(11:28.) I want to get our friend (Jane) into motion, with this running, even if you have to chase him through the house. [...]

Our friend attempted to choose a different battleground last evening. [...]

The very impetus and charge of the energy propels you both in to new byways in your arts and in our work. [...]

It took me some time to get our friend in the proper condition.

(Pause.) With Ruburt: The new orientation is bringing results, and the results do appear effortlessly.² The affair with Mitzi (one of our cats) did involve action at other levels — a magical orientation. [...]

(About Seth’s reference to Mitzi: Last month both of our cats, Mitzi and Billy, came down with heavy cases of fleas — quite unusual for them even though they are often outside. [...]

[...] Mitzi, our cat, has been loaded with fleas. [...]

(When we woke up from our naps, however, we were considerably surprised, for it appeared that the suggestions had taken rather deep effect after all. [...]

[...] It had to do with the power of suggestion, our reluctance to use it, and so forth. [...]

[...] Ruburt is walking—as poorly as our hypothetical writer is writing. [...]

[...] I said I thought I understood what Seth was doing: in light of the material we’d been getting, he was giving Jane the experience of that ancient time and our present time, showing that both are simultaneous. [...]

[...] “These are structures engineered on our earth, extremely cleverly, Sound patterns would physically materialize them, but if these patterns aren’t given then the structures are just out of the range of what we’d normally [call?] physical. [...]

And with that I will close our session. [...]

(In our talk before the session, I had the feeling that Jane kept sliding away from the direct consideration of the question. [...]

He was giving a good deal of time to our sessions. [...]

(We chose our bedroom because it would be more private and comfortable than the living room. [...]
