(I showed Jane the list of questions I’ve been acquiring, at Seth’s own suggestion, and told her that one of them concerned the insurance situation — that I didn’t want to mess it up by demanding action from our lawyer, say. Seth had said six weeks ago that the issue would be settled to my satisfaction, and our lawyer had said not to worry, and that’s the last we’ve heard. [...]

[...] He also asked Jane about our insurance hassles. [...]

Now: give us a moment, and we will do this in our own way.

[...] In our casual conversation I happened to remark that I now had three things going reincarnationally: The Nabene thing, the Roman thing, and the Jamaica thing, toward my chronological “list” of “past” lives.

(“All right then,” Jane said finally, “I’ll just tell you this: Our whole idea of reincarnation is all screwed up. [...]

Today I visited our optometrist—with results that Jane and I find most intriguing.¹)

1. In a simplified account: When I was a youngster my mother took me to see our family optometrist. [...]

Last week I received from our current optometrist (whom I’ll call John Smith) his standard notice that two years have passed since my glasses were changed. [...]

Our sessions began, really, as an extension, a natural enough development, the results of a personal search. [...]

I will answer it, and at our next session, when you remind Ruburt of the great creative climate in which it can be “answered.” [...]

The question about the subconscious’s view of the body will be answered along with the other one, and at our next session. [...]

[...] Our methods differ markedly, however.

[...] Even our sessions would be contracted for in advance. [...]

[...] What is left in our lives to learn, to uncover? [...]

[...] It concerned the best general approach to establish our new attitudes, since we had many different desires at hand to deal with.

I mention this again in the middle of our present discussion so that you do not feel lost, or negated, or insignificant. [...] That energy which is projected from our “superself,” that spark of intense identity that resulted in your physical birth, that unique impetus, in the one way has many similarities to the old concept of the soul — except that it contains only a part of the story.

Now: This is difficult to explain, and for our present purposes it is not entirely necessary that you understand the reasons for this pulsing; but even physically, you are “not here” as often as you are. [...]

[...] Seth finally broke into a long conversation Jane, John, and I were having during our break.)

[...] Seth dealt with organization in that session also — but organization within our own reality as well as in others. [...]

[...] I think all of this psychic stuff that I’m half aware of has to be organized and expressed in our world — Seth, Cézanne, this book — so that we can make sense of the whole thing.”

In our last book session, I gave the title for this chapter, mentioning the emotions and association; and the fact that the psyche must be directly experienced. [...]

[...] Our cat, Willy, woke up and insisted upon climbing into Jane’s lap as she sat in trance. [...]

[...] I described the material briefly, then added, “It would be a joke if that information applied to our own ancestors, our cavemen, as we think of them.” [...]

(Jane and I hadn’t realized it at first, but we were to take a long rest from work on “Unknown” Reality following the 707th session, for July 1. We were busy during the next 14 weeks, of course; there follow a few notes about some of our activities, grouped together by subject matter rather than chronology.

(Just as I had some small psychic adventures during our time off from “Unknown” Reality, Jane did too. [...]

[...] We could hear the automobiles swooshing across the new Walnut Street Bridge that lifted gracefully over the Chemung River, less than a quarter of a block from our apartment house; it had been raining earlier this evening and the traffic noise was softened. [...]

(I also discussed the dream I’d had last month, in which I’d seen the checks out in the parking lot by the front tire of our car. [...]

[...] We shut out the early deaths from our conscious awareness as we move through probabilities. [...]

(I mowed some grass and filled a coffee container with forsythia I clipped from our bush on our southeast corner of the lot. [...]

Few people are much concerned personally with the esoteric situations mentioned in our last chapter. [...]

[...] Joe lay in bed with his eyes closed the whole time, although he alertly followed our talk. [...]

[...] At our first discussion, though, Peg told me that a brother-in-law had just come into a tremendous amount of money as a result of lawyers fees, he is a lawyer, and a rich account. [...]

[...] It was there that Jane and I had our most unfortunate encounter with the young psychologist. [...]

[...] We were standing beside our Christmas tree when Jane took off her glasses and began to speak for Seth, in a voice somewhat stronger than usual. [...]

[...] Jane and I considered combining that hypothetical book with Mass Events, but figured out that the resulting volume would almost surely be too long; longer even than Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality, which in our opinion is bulky enough.

[...] We’ve already made known to Seth our desires that he go into his Frameworks 1 and 2 material much more extensively in Mass Events, since those concepts are so closely involved with the individual and collective experiences surrounding the lives of everyone.³

[...] I think the divisions charted for the brain so far may be too strict, that beliefs about such separations may get in the way of our perception of the brain’s beautifully whole operation.
