It wasn’t until after Jane’s death in 1984 that I took the “time” to understand that Jane’s Seth material—her great passionate body of work—really didn’t need to be categorized as public or private—that all of it was simply one multifaceted creative entity.

(11:30.) Ruburt became the spontaneous one to both of you, therefore the one who must use controls. You became the disciplined one to both of you, which meant of course that you also impeded your spontaneity. [...]

[...] From childhood in your society, you were as children told in one way or another that it was healthy to enjoy sports and outside activity, to join in games, to be outgoing with playmates, and all of that is of course quite true. [...]

[...] When you change your affiliation and find yourself now and then encountering such feelings; and they are always one way or another feelings of insecurity—then admit to yourself that while they made sense in the unsafe universe, they do not belong in the safe one. [...]

Now in one context those ideas are valid, but they are also deceiving—because your present focus will determine which reincarnational episodes you become aware of (intently). In that context, two lives in one century, overlapping, seem contradictory, but I tell you all along that you live many lives at once.

[...] You cannot live in a safe universe and an unsafe one at the same time. [...]

(When Jane did begin to speak at 9:11, she used the same high, somewhat distant and quite precise voice as before, the one belonging to what we call, somewhat inaccurately, Seth’s entity. [...] One of its oddities is that a sentence often ends on an upbeat note, instead of the voice dropping at the end as is usual. This effect still fools me at times, for a sentence will have ended whereas I think Jane has only paused briefly in the midst of one.

[...] One of the reasons for the change in the sessions is to give Ruburt experience along these lines.

He is forced in one way to reach further into inner reality, for I do not come as immediately to you as Seth as you knew him did. [...]

The sense of rather strained neutrality Ruburt feels now before sessions is simply caused by the strangeness of changing coordinates from the ones with which he has been accustomed.

Dream One: I was in a beautiful landscape. [...] Finally I got on one of the swings, swinging back and forth over the length of the hilltop, rather than over the edge of the land beneath.

[...] They were blue-purple, and the top one had a flower in the center. [...] At first, nothing told me whose house this was, so I asked mentally, and got the words, “Tom’s, one of your students.”

[...] So even space-wise, there seems to be a connection between those earlier sessions and the present ones in which Seth is dictating his own book.

[...] And I don’t believe that our world, like the watch, is simply a discard from another greater reality, though certainly it is a part of one.

Why has no one suspected that dream locations have not only a psychological reality but a definite actuality? [...] This would seem contrary to your known laws, but no one has looked into this. [...]

Many of these actions performed by dream images are muscular ones, physical manipulations. [...] These dream images are not one-dimensional cardboard figures by any means. [...]

The dream world is, then, a natural by-product of the relationship between the inner self and the physical being — not a reflection, but a by-product — involving not only a chemical reaction, but also the transformation of energy from one state to another.

[...] Yet, while your world and the dream world are basically independent, they exert pressures and influences one upon the other.

[...] Or you will think of the poor soul as a blackboard eraser, slapped between two hands — one good and one evil.

2. When I come across material that puts down the physical body, I sometimes try to counter such negative projections by turning to one of the technological accomplishments of our “degraded” species: I study photographs of minute portions of the human body, taken with a scanning electron microscope. Then I experience a series of steps in thinking — not all of them good, I’m afraid — and I’d like to mention each one in turn.

[...] Who else did we know, so “old school” who’d even speak of tipping one’s hat, or refer to food as “good cuisine?” Anyway he certainly didn’t sound frightening, and the fifth-dimensional monologue was really provocative.
