Both mechanisms suddenly line up the belief systems in one particular manner, knocking aside all doubts but accepting instead a strict obedience to the new belief system, and a new reorganization of life itself beneath that new cause.

(Jane said very little when I sprang the idea of a new book on her during the supper hour. [...]

[...] New mental impetus will initiate new physical impetus, so do not be impatient.

[...] Granted that Seth’s material may “only” be bringing into our conscious awareness knowledge we already possess and use on other levels, still it’s a fine thing that his material makes us aware of that inner comprehension — and so new dimensions of consciousness become available to us. I “drew” a rough analogy with painting (to make a pun): The artist may start working on a blank canvas, yet each physical brush stroke he or she delineates is built upon inner knowledge and experience; in the painting these qualities are objectified in new combinations, which in turn add further to the artist’s conscious comprehension. And when the painting is finished, the artist contemplates a new reality of his or her own creation.

Consciousness forms the genes, and not the other way around, and the about-to-be-born infant is the agency that adds new material through the chromosomal structure.² The child is from birth far more aware of all kinds of physical events than is realized also. [...]

[...] He could not assimilate the information, and became frightened, to some extent at least, at the vastness of the experience involved, as if the ancient yet new knowledge that he sought for his individual reasons was so encompassing that his own individuality would have trouble handling it while retaining its own necessary frame of reference. Ruburt has been so used to constricted motion that the sensation of new motion sometimes startles him enough to cause tenseness in the area involved. [...]

(As for myself, since I mailed the corrected galley proofs for Emir back to Delacorte Press five-and-a-half weeks ago [on April 9], I’ve been keeping up with the new sessions for Mass Events, as well as those on other general subjects and for ourselves. [...]

(10:00.) This often stimulated him to new accomplishments. The addition, however, brought with it a new sense of responsibility—not just to make money, but as his writings continued he wanted his creative work to be “responsible” and he began to discover that others, so it seemed, were all too ready to latch upon what he almost considered magical inspirational productions, and to follow them with very literal minds.
