“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

From her mystical orientation Jane chooses what she wants to learn and use from what Seth has to offer. I think that if one isn’t a mystic, such a state of being can only be approximated: There are obviously many variations possible, but the mystic chooses challenges that the rest of us can really understand only in the vaguest of terms. Jane’s mystical creation of her universe is just her own. [...]

I do think that through her mystical understanding and interpretation of our probable reality, Jane has indeed offered much to us, and that she will continue to do so. [...]

(Long pause.) He used dogma in a mystical manner, only to discover, however, that the church’s mysticism had no place to go: it was in its fashion dead-ended. [...]

[...] Ordinarily we don’t think of those questions — and challenges — as being mystical in origin, not from our Western social viewpoint. Seth discusses Jane’s early religious background, her “deeply mystical nature,” in the first session of this volume (the 679th), and I add some material on mysticism in an appendix to that session. Now the church finally placed all of the condemnation of its religious laws against certain psychological and mystical experiences — not because it did not consider them realities, of course, but precisely because it recognized too well the disruptive influence that, say, revelationary experience could have upon a world order that was based upon a uniform dogma.

All personal contact with the multidimensional God, all legitimate moments of mystic consciousness, will always have a unifying effect. [...]

2. At times after Jane began to really show her physical symptoms, my awareness of the fact that basically she’s a mystic became submerged beneath many other more “practical” matters. [...] She doesn’t use the word in connection with herself, yet I think that Jane’s mystical nature, which is so at odds with the realities most people create for themselves, actually offers the only real framework for understanding her physical condition, her choices, in our probable reality.

[...] As a mystic she can have motivations toward exploring certain avenues of the human condition that most of us don’t have. [...] Jane used to say to me: “I told myself that if I let myself do that, then I’ll do this in return,” One can say that that kind of equation hardly represents a mystical view, yet I know that in her case it does. Such an encounter with the psyche is often met by great artists or writers, or by mystics. [...]

[...] In a fashion the material returns him, however, to a natural yet mystical inner knowledge of his childhood before (underlined) he cloaked it in the church’s robes, and it would be good for him to remember that and perhaps try to recapture some of those very early feelings that he has consciously forgotten. Ideas of the “wise old man,” and similar legends apply here, as do the mystical concepts of the powerful old woman. [...]

Your original purpose was the purpose of the creative artist or of the mystic, and that kind of purpose automatically brings you in rebellion against official authority. [...]
