[...] So Seth’s version of All That Is being both within and without the universe makes more sense to me, and I’m very curious about where he’ll go with this in his book. This morning, looking over the few pages we have so far, I got the idea that the title for the first chapter is going to be: ‘Before the Beginning’—so we’ll see….

I estimate that it’ll take me five or six weeks to type the final manuscript of the book for our publisher. Then I’ll need another week to go over the manuscript, with colored pens marking instructions of each page as to what copy we want set in roman [upright] type, and in italics; while doing that I’ll also check spelling, punctuation, references, dates, times—all of those mundane details so necessary in helping our publisher produce a finished, good-looking book for the marketplace.¹

It isn’t necessary to repeat many more of the Introductory Notes for Volume 1 here, although I’ll ask the reader to review them in connection with the material presented below. [...]

After I touch upon the contents of Volume 1, I’ll have the freedom to move into some other topics that occurred to Jane and me as I put Volume 2 together — subjects regarding the Seth phenomenon itself, for example. [...]

[...] This process can also result in a similar approach on my part when I discuss his dictation, so I’ll initiate a summary of Volume 1 by using four sources presented by Seth himself: a key passage from his Preface; the headings he gave for the three sections that comprise Volume 1, along with a few elaborations of my own; a brief description of the appendixes which I assembled over a period of time; and a passage from the 762nd session, in which, eight months after he’d finished “Unknown” Reality, Seth speaks further about his purposes in producing it.

First, though, I’ll explain that in sessions Seth refers to Jane by her male entity name, Ruburt — and that he does so (as I quote him in Appendix 18) simply because “the given entity identifies itself more with the so-called male characteristics than with the female.” [...]

[...] The day staff made the decision that I’d probably buy an ice cream log for their Christmas party, at which many goodies will be served; I’ll get to take some home also. [...]

[...] Now tomorrow, I told her, I’ll show these latest letters to Andrew Fife in billing. [...]

(“All right then,” Jane said finally, “I’ll just tell you this: Our whole idea of reincarnation is all screwed up. [...] The notion of one life at a time, in any time period, is bullshit—the psyche is so rich that it can have more than one life at a time—like your Nabene and Roman lives together, in the first century A.D. But if you tell people that you’ll get them all confused....”

(I protested, saying that I hoped she wouldn’t “say something now that I’ll wish later I’d written down.” [...]

[...] Among other things, Jane wrote later: “I thought Rob was saying—when you’re completely recovered, etc we’ll take trips. [...]
